It's been done... with cars it doesn't work that well because these micro engines have hardly any torque. So they crawl around at high revs. But there's a video of an rc v8 speedboat around, and it's absolutely badass.
@jerrydoll7275
@jerrydoll7275 5 жыл бұрын
@@Motorsheep this sounds like it might be a little bit more than most of the others, The thing to do now is design a multi speed transmission to get the revs down and the speed up.
@Motorsheep
@Motorsheep 5 жыл бұрын
@@jerrydoll7275 Looking at my reply 3 months later, I'm wondering if my statement about torque is even true. The engine should have quite enough torque at lower rpm's. Perhaps the issue is simply that combustion engine powered rc cars usually have centrifugal-force-actuated clutches. They don't engage at low rpm's, so you need a short transmission ratio. I don't know if servo clutches are a thing off the shelf, probably not. So that's what you'd need to make this work I guess.

@Bringer of Death Only some parts, and that's not a problem. Most products use components made by other manufacturers. That's common practice. The product he made with some of these components is his product and he can sell it as his own. The big problem is his labour cost. Unless he can find a way to manufacture the block, crank, cam, heads, etc. In an efficient enough manner to keep the cost below what people are willing to pay.

Jim,,, I sat glued to the screen and glued to every word,, I believe victory 44 is definitely the smallest running V8 in the world,,, I'm just amazed at your skills and knowledge... Victory 44 is a fine looking , sounding miniature V8, I'm just astounded by the workmanship you have put in.. the tiny distributor.... and having built the V8 from your own design,, and just one single carborator,,,,,,,off a Os ... Thank you for your video Jim... And please know you have inspired me to move on with some of my own little inventions... GOD bless you and your loved ones..🙂 BiG LOVE from NEW ZEALAND 💕..

Rick Perez He should totally go for it right? That would be so cool to see. All he would need to do is hook up a drive shaft to a differential if he wants to make it direct drive, and a servo and speed controller will take care of the throttle.

@VestedUTuber
@VestedUTuber 10 жыл бұрын
TheVancen You could probably run it on a 4-stroke aircraft blend, though you would have to replace the fuel lines and gaskets. To run it on anything else would require a massive overhaul. This of course assumes that it runs on standard gasoline.

I would put it in an on road car, my off road cars go through the. Gas motors, I have 3 of these motors, I use to have 7, I run them really hard, I've put them into street racers and if you put the right trans on, it is awesome, and it only costed $800 and about 4 months to build one

Hell, use a Baja 5B clutch use some revo half shafts as a drive shaft, mybe a 2 part one, then hook it into a revo diff with better gears. If you have the skill to make this engine, i imagine you could manage a 2 speed trans like a Traxxas nitro monster truck

I want to build an rc car for that engine, it would me an old school car, maybe 68 gto hard top. An actual transmission and a diff. Real working suspension and pneumatic tires. The real smallest v8 car to go with. It would be scale to. 44 cc it could easily mimick a 440 ci in that car. Front engine rear wheel drive just like its a working driving model.
