It's been done... with cars it doesn't work that well because these micro engines have hardly any torque. So they crawl around at high revs. But there's a video of an rc v8 speedboat around, and it's absolutely badass.
@jerrydoll72755 жыл бұрын
@@Motorsheep this sounds like it might be a little bit more than most of the others, The thing to do now is design a multi speed transmission to get the revs down and the speed up.
@Motorsheep5 жыл бұрын
@@jerrydoll7275 Looking at my reply 3 months later, I'm wondering if my statement about torque is even true. The engine should have quite enough torque at lower rpm's. Perhaps the issue is simply that combustion engine powered rc cars usually have centrifugal-force-actuated clutches. They don't engage at low rpm's, so you need a short transmission ratio. I don't know if servo clutches are a thing off the shelf, probably not. So that's what you'd need to make this work I guess.

Bunch of people here cracking jokes about putting this in a car for their pet or whatever, don't appreciate the fact that this guy built a running V8 engine that could fit in your hand

I want to build an rc car for that engine, it would me an old school car, maybe 68 gto hard top. An actual transmission and a diff. Real working suspension and pneumatic tires. The real smallest v8 car to go with. It would be scale to. 44 cc it could easily mimick a 440 ci in that car. Front engine rear wheel drive just like its a working driving model.

I want to see that too

You doubt the power of directed explosive energy? it might be small but inside that casing is still a shit ton of tiny explosions being farmed for energy.

I miss going to church, every church I’ve ever been to has a guy like this who could teach you everything you ever wanted to know about anything haha. Although, I’ve never met a guy as genius as Jim. This is truly incredible. I wish I knew this guy, I would just sit and listen to him talk about cars and motors and bore strokes for hours and not interrupt him a single time. God bless you, sir.

The engine doesn't have any cooling system in it so it would get hot faster
@oceanbytez8478 жыл бұрын
Yup. engines tend to get REALLY hot very fast.
@twospirit3337 жыл бұрын
Would you be able to throw that engine into an RC car? That would be truly be awesome. That sound is most impressive.
