In the United States the problem is similar. Massive numbers of homeless, non English speaking unemployed people. There are so many here that Spanish is now the defacto 2nd language of the nation. I think half of the opposition would vanish if it were not so easy to live here and Never learn English. Spanish only TV Radio and newspapers are-everywhere. Then near e very school district in America has Special programs to teach them english. Aliens everywhere, legal or illegal should remember they are guest in our HOME, and should behave accordingly. I’ve worked as a laborer for my step dad who was a brick and stone mason. There were times he lost the bid on jobs because a crew of illegals got the job for less, and shortly after they did the job my step would get a call to come fix it because they did shoddy work. I’ve worked with him on jobs where he was just working with another crew and saw the garbage work that was being done and the drinking on the job. When my little brother’s friend moved to Nebraska, he took a job detassling corn in the morning before school and I’ve met guys who’ve picked fruits and vegetables while in college for money to pay their share of the rent or for extra money. My dad has worked as a janitor since the recession in 2008. Americans can do these jobs, don’t make it out like all Americans absolutely refuse to do these jobs because some have and still do. We have a huge homeless issue, instead of just throwing money at the problem, maybe there should be an effort to get the people back on track to being self sufficient by starting them out with these jobs and go from there. I believe South Dakota addresses the homeless issue on a case by case basis, trying to help people get back on their feet. There may not be a lot of money in these jobs, but it should be understood that some of these jobs are seasonal and some to be used as a stepping stone or a second job to cover some ends. I’ve had years where I’ve worked two or three jobs, sometimes you have to do what you have to do. To say we need these illegal immigrants in America to do these jobs doesn’t sit with me. We have an entitlement issue and a laziness issue as well as a drug issue that needs to be addressed.

Interesting topic. Well, you can't really say that 100% of the time Americans are willing to take these jobs. For example, some of them have a bad combination of being low value added and labor intense plus some kind of nasty. A good example of this would be a meat processing plant. It is dirty, nasty, monotonous and low paying since food has a low margin. Most native born Americans avoid them because they have better options. So, the need for imported labor isn't going away. As for employing chronically homeless people in these jobs, are you kidding? They are homeless for a reason. It is a combination of mental illness and drug addiction and, because of this, they are useless. It is not like the 1930s America where millions of people with sound minds and bodies are out of work and are willing to take any job at any wage. There are people like this who become homeless, but it is temporary. They can take a wide variety of jobs, so you probably won't see them picking apples.

the key to immigration is legality. if you want to immigrate to any country, do it properly. all countries have laws. you need to go through proper channels. and no, the constitution doesn't give blanket citizenship to those born here. it has a qualifier. you have to be under the jurisdiction of the government to become a citizen by birth. that makes a huge difference that people who don't bother to actually study the constitution find it convenient to ignore.

Most of the comments here boil down to "if they do it legally, they should stay". Problem is, many countries politicize the process and does not make that distinction. It's also a very long process, sometimes taking decades. If you're fleeing a war-torn shit hole or you're trying to provide for a family, you might not have that kind of time. Immigration status is also held to generally very low numbers, with less than one percent of applicants receiving an interview and it is skewed heavily towards those who are already wealthy or possess a specialized profession such as a doctor. If at any point in the long process, you somehow forgot to cross a t or dot an i, you can lose all the time, money and hope you had. Any time a new administration comes into office that wishes to villainize immigrants, those goal posts can also change, or you can find your application suddenly dropped and now you're an illegal. People understand that illegal immigration is a problem, but they have no understanding of why it is a problem. People should absolutely follow the laws of the land and go through the proper channels when it comes to immigration, but as a society we need to look at what those channels are and how we've created this problem to begin with. This is probably true for most countries and most of the problems we face. Beware of people offering solutions without knowledge or a clearly defined plan.

Not to get political, since I enjoy your videos and how you attempt to keep politics out of them, however I did have a problem with this one. First and foremost, I am very much in favor of an immigration policy similar to the one the German's have recently employed, that is, if you have a skill that we need, by all means, "Come to the United States". If you are simply another mouth to feed, then I'm sorry, stay home or go somewhere else. The Biden Administrations "open border" policy is what is driving the massive number of deportations here now. You stated that we deported over 200,000 illegal immigrants, but seriously, how many did we not deport? Estimates of 9 million plus since 2020!! Talk about a drop in the bucket. "Illegal" means that you are violating our laws to be here. I don't care if you are running away from some horrible environment, looking for a better life or here for more criminal opportunities. You are breaking the law and the deportation rate for illegal immigrants should be 100%. I find it extremely ludicrous that an American citizen will get a warrant for his arrest if he or she fails to report for jury duty, and yet, people can just cross our border (with or without Government assistance) and live a happy life! Rule of law, people, rule of law!
@sherryr546223 сағат бұрын
As conflict increases, there will be more people trying to flee to another country where they think they may be safer. The problem comes in when there are a lot of people all trying to flee to the same place all at once....illegally. There is no single place prepared to accept large numbers of people all at once which is why every country has their own acceptance process and guidelines. If we really want the flux of immigration happening worldwide to slow/stop, we need to work harder at stopping all the fights between countries. Corruption and greed exacerbate a person's need to run to what they hope is a safer place.

A correction to your video: The birthright citizenship issue is not just if you are an american citizen your children are citizens, it is also if you are a permanent resident (green card holder) your children are american citizens if born here. Anyone here illegally, or on a temporary visa (student, work, tourist, etc) will no longer have their children become citizens if they are born here (thus eliminating the anchor baby issue). It will be interesting to see how the Supreme Court Rules on this as the new policy seems to be more in line with the 14th amendment than just stating that anyone who happens to be born on american soil is an american regardless of how they arrived here.

Immigrants fill critical roles in construction, manufacturing and agriculture because they work for less money (not their fault, they take what they can get) When you lower the rate of immigration, it forces the management to raise their pay to keep employees. You cannot argue that this raises the cost of goods because pay has dropped when compared to inflation in the last two years. What two factors have played a significant role? out of control gas prices and out of control Illegal immigration. The US is different from some of the others because of our welfare system. Wanna come here and assimilate and contribute? WELCOME!! Wanna come here and live off the largesse of taxpayers? BYE... Countries have identities that their people share - historical, cultural and legal. Absolutely nothing wrong with maintaining these. It's who we all are - Russian, Indian, American.

These countries such as Haiti, Venezuela, etc need to fix their own problems and keep their people from coming over here.
