Useless facts about the courses in this game: The game's stop clock runs slightly slow due to the frame rate being calibrated to best suit the illusion of really fast speeds. Mute City is the only world with three variations on three separate courses, even though the courses are very similar in design. The soundtracks for Mute City and Big Blue have been used in sequels such as F-Zero X for N64 and GX for Nintendo GameCube. Big Blue, Sand Ocean, Silence, and Fire Field are the only worlds with no variation sequels. Death Wind is the only world where the effect of wind resistance can be observed, and the sound effects don't echo. Also Death Wind I and II's recharge zones are placed in series on the course rather than in a pit lane. The track map for Silence resembles a pistol pointed downward. White Land is the only world with two variations on separate courses, and the theme soundtrack is remixed for the second course. Port Town I, II and White Land II are the only three open loop courses requiring a jump over a gap. Due to it's slow acceleration, the Fire Stingray is the only vehicle that cannot clear the White Land II jump without gliding on the first lap (I tried several times lol). Death Wind II has the most boost arrows around the course. Port Town II's course design was reused in N64's F-Zero X and nicknamed "snake road." Red Canyon II has an area off the course consisting of jump pads in an arrow formation and can only be reached by hitting the jump pad right before the turn into the stretch of mines at high top speed and gliding. (As shown in the video). Fire Field is the longest, most difficult course (arguably), and it's recharge zone is in an alleyway (I guess) instead of a pit lane. On Practice Mode, all courses in Knight League, and only White Land I from Queen League and Port Town II from King League (7 courses altogether) are available for time trial races. The Silence and Sand Ocean worlds are in fact intertwined. You may have noticed in each track what appears to be another track in the distance near the horizon, and in fact that's exactly the case. You can see the Sand Ocean track from Silence and vice versa. They were both programmed into the game starting on the same file, which was basically then copy/pasted and altered to reflect the different world and music of the other track, but for some reason, the programmers just simply didn't cover up one track over the other for each course.

BLUE FALCON Pilot: Captain Falcon Medium weight, decent acceleration, good top speed, fairly strong body, fair power recharge rate, adequate handling. Good all-around vehicle for all tracks GOLDEN FOX Pilot: Dr. Stewart Very lightweight, insane acceleration, low top speed, frail body, insane power recharge rate, extremely nimble. Good for tracks with many turns, requires total attention to handle effectively. WILD GOOSE Pilot: Pico Heavy weight, okay acceleration, high top speed, rigid body, somewhat lagging power recharge rate, under-par handling. Good for long tracks and can take a beating, but has trouble grabbing the track on tight turns. FIRE STINGRAY Pilot: Samurai Goroh Very heavy, very slow off the line, very high top speed, super strong body, very slow power recharge rate, cumbersome handling. Good for experts and mainly for easy maneuvered tracks, but can also be used in long, perilous tracks as well. The Fire Stingray also has the longest boost duration which is perfect for record runs on a track like Death Wind 1.

My two cents: Fire Stingray actually has the best handling of all the cars. You can move it pixel perfect through any turn, and it never slides. Wild Goose is actually the toughest body--stronger than stingray. Fire Stingray is the "best" car, the one that all world records are done in, because it gets the highest top speed (usually with aid of having cars behind you bump you at start) and has insanely accurate handling.

Snes was an awesome piece of entertainment with games that remain unrivaled in playability and addictiveness. I remember that the simple games were often the most impressive, such as Bomberman. The games were also great fun without the use of extreme violence....Like the amazing Abe where stealth and cunning played a huge part in fully completing each level. Coming from the generation that discovered Space invaders and Pacman these new games were well in advance of any other gaming console available.

Brings back memories, but I actually played on the hidden difficulty level MASTER ( after killing it on Expert mode ), to beat the hidden mode, you need to do each course "flawlessly" cause your competition is literally inches behind you. One bump out and your reared with no way to recover. That takes a long time to perfect which is why it's a hidden difficulty mode and labeled "Master". The music always got my blood pumping, felt like Tom cruise in Top Gun lol!

+Steven Stephan Not really. Beacuse if you're judging by most of the decade, the majority of 90's kids were not born when the Super Nintendo Entertainment System just came out and by the time most of them were 3-4 years of age by mid-90's onward, the N64, PS1 and Saturn would have also been out in the market at an affordable price. Also, despite being a new franchise and an early addition to SNES' lineup, F-Zero was grossly overshadowed by Mario Kart, so compared to Nintendo's more prominent IPs at the forefront, this game is more obscure.

I played it and I'm so young for it to play but I was having fun not even getting to finish 1 race iwas just always outside the track destroying my racing spaceship hahaha such good times. One of the most revolutionary and fastest racing games of its time. Mode 7 Blast Processing! Still own the cartridge and I beat this 100%. Still fun. @Peter_19863 жыл бұрын
"Super Mario World" had a lot of Mode 7 effects as well, although they were more subtle. A few examples are the tilting platforms in Iggy's and Larry's boss rooms, the death animations for some of the Koppaling bosses when they spin and fade into the background, the rotating Reznor platform, the keyhole animation and the part when Bowser flies really close to the screen.

Why did it take me just now to realize F-Zero means Formula Zero?

Same here. I never knew F-Zero was a futuristic take on Formula One until I became an adult.

I had just been enjoying the nostalgia and when the driver got the the green loop stage (Death Wind 1 - but I wasn't really paying attention to the name) he did a the little turn to angle the craft. I was puzzled for a moment, but then suddenly thought "Oh, yeah. There was a cross wind." It's amazing what you can remember so quickly about something from so long ago.

9:08 - _Barely_ got to 1st place. That was a close shave.

I always used the pink car because it had higher top speed

Yeah, @Nob the Knave. It was really hard to beat. But back in 2013 or 2014 moment as young adult, I finally finish the F-Zero from beginner to master on all league by myself. F-Zero, Super Mario World, A Link the Past, Yoshi Island, Starfox and other was my first time play video game back in day when I was 3 year old toddler baby.

Pink car ftw!

Totally. But it has slow acceleration. One good thing to do is get the boost at the start of the race, then steer in front of the other racers so they'll slam into you and push you up!

The highest top speed and very good to handle. Strongest car in the game

In the 80s and most of the 90s, people didn't shy away from color.

This really showed right away what the SNES was capable of. A game like this was absolutely impossible on the NES, not even the greatest racing game on that system came even close to this, and suddenly the second Super Nintendo game arrived and blew peoples minds with the best 3D effects available at the time. Just wow.

There were two FUTURISTIC ANTI-GRAVITY SPEED RACING CAR GAMES in the 90s. One is F-ZERO for SNES Second one is WIPEOUT for Playstation 1 These games were far advanced for their time.
