Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)　
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO
　　
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)　　　
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

I just heard about Toto....haven't watched their troop in a bit anyone know what happened? Nene, well, she is probably not going to do well, but I want to try and be optimistic. As far as the bolts, I don't not know if they feel it's a bother to trim them, but they are pretty rusty, so I'd worry about that. And yes the only way to take care of that is to cut the second of rust off and put some round bolts on the end.

I hate to hear that about Toto! GL. You must continue to let the zookeepers know about the danger of the bolts. Please I would hate for the gorillas to be injured when it is preventable. Please keep reminding them. I know they are busy but I also know that they would hate for them to get injured. Thank you for another great video!!❤️

I know you have informed the zookeepers, but I think if the viewers express their concerns as well, maybe the zoo administration will act faster. Yes, there is a new hammock in the computer room (which Kintaro had been putting so much strain on lately 🐒😄) and so the dangerous screws are finally gone. 😊 I first saw and commented on this in the previous video of "Gorilla today". Many thanks to the zoo employees who started removing the dangerous screws. 👏☺️🙏 But unfortunately there are still enough of these dangers with screws. Like, for example, the tire that Momotaro, Gentaro and Kintaro hold on to (the family throne 😉). The small outdoor hammock from Baby Gentaro was also attached with these long screws. And not forgetting the horrible looking large mat that should have been removed long ago. It has been broken and torn for a long time and is already lying half on the floor. Much of the outside area is rotten, rusty and covered in verdigris, all of which pose a health risk. Some can give you a rash. The gorillas grab everything and scratch themselves, which can transfer pathogens to the skin. 😔 I commented on this months ago, but now the zoo is taking it seriously and has started with the hammock in the computer room. Hopefully this renovation will continue step by step before winter arrives. This would be important in the interest and health of the Momotaro family. Thank you.🤞🙂🙏🦍🦍🦍🐒💚 Thanks also to you GL for your tireless work and support for the Momotaro family. ☺️💚🌻

The keepers need to do a clean up in there! Get that junk out of there. They have such limited space, the don’t need to dodge flower pots and rotten logs 😠how often are those ropes and hammocks checked for safety ?

Thank you for telling the zoo about the bolts. I have noticed them for a while but I thought surely they knew. When Gentaro had the flesh wound on his right pec on his chest, I was wondering if it was from one of the bolts. Thank you again ❤❤❤😊😊😊

Momotaro's mother is Momoko. His mother Momoko's recent partner is Haoko. Haoko's younger brother is Shabani.

Because Gentaro is almost a Silverback, 2 Silverbacks do not get along, I have seen them get along in the wild but there is always the Alpha who must be respected.

@in4aeg 1, Yes they do. The other gorillas are allowed to enter the second ground. 2, The ares is not explusive for Gentaro for now. Actually all members go in and out. One day Gentaro will spend most of his time alone there , though. The space is intended for supporting independence of Gentaro and Kintaro.
