We tried for years to get my daughter with severe endometriosis to be able to have a hysterectomy. By the time we found someone who would do the surgery she was 24 years old. She was just about bedridden by the time she had the surgery. No one would do the surgery because she might have wanted to have children. Now they are doing mastectomies and hysterectomies on physically healthy people. These so called medical people are the ones who are mentally ill.

They haven’t done it yet. The secret “gender clinic” at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Alberta still exists. The laws which allow men into women’s and girls washrooms and sports still exist. If you natural hormone replacement instead of the synthetic pharmaceutical hormones you won't have the problems but you have to have these mixed especially for you at a specialized pharmacy and they only recently started covering the hormones for me after l got mad that our ins was covering hormones for trans women but not for biological women.

As a young girl, i considered myself to be a tomboy. I played with all the boys in the neighborhood and identified with them. When I entered puberty, I was shocked that I was going to menstruate for years. It was painful and messy. But one of the issues I hated the most about being a woman was the power inequality. I was expected to be passive and to passively wait to be chosen by a man. I could not sexually approach men because I would be considered "loose" and "easy to get." I objected to the power inequalities between men and women. I didn't want children. Over time, I married and realized that I could surf, for example, something women didn't do. Later on I had children - two beautiful daughters. Life isn't perfect. We have to accept who we are and I accepted who I was and I did.

As a parent of a daughter who made a damn good effort in trying to transition at 13-15… it was hell. I NEVER allowed anything, not even a binder. On day one, ( 7 years ago), I found information that really questioned this rhetoric. I found a parents group on line, and thank god my husband was in line with me. She was the class ROGD girl. So many co morbidities, hospital stays, school refusal, friendships lost… hers and mine, school change, self harm, eating disorders, running away… etc etc. Too many therapists to count, too many meds to name. Tears shed… a seas worth. Self hatred… so deep. It took me 2 years to figure out a neuropsychologist evaluation might be needed. Diagnosis? Autism. She was 14, and her life turned around from there. She was relieved that there was an explanation for why she felt so off kilter.

45 years ago, i managed a gender assignment clinic as part of my management portfolio at a major university teaching hospital. We only treated adults. They underwent extensive psychological evaluation and were expected to live full-time for at least a year before any surgery or drugs. Even with that level of careful evaluation it became clear that more harm than good was being done and our organization along with most other reputable ones discontinued this kind of treatment. Suddenly, one day this whole industry just popped up again, but in a more shady way.

My own daughter called me a TERF when I tried to talk to her about trans ideology. She’s a child psychologist in the Bay Area, doctorate from San Francisco. The indoctrination runs deep. Edit: thank you for all the feedback. For clarity, she called me a TERF when I was discussing trans women in female sports. She’s not involved in a gender clinic, nor has she referred any students for medicalization. My point was, this is hammered into university students, at least on the West Coast, as settled science, coming down from the medical world as proven facts. I'm so glad that I wasn't brought up in this time. I was sexually abused as a very young child and wanted desperately to be a boy because, in my young mind, I believed that boys wouldn't be sexually abused. I was a tomboy with a very short haircut and a boyish manner. You can be sure that I would've been one of these confused, young people who believe that they were meant to be another sex...that God was wrong. Now, I'm happily married to a good man and have three daughters. I would never have had that opportunity had I been allowed to "change my sex" as a young person.

Thankyou for addressing this problem. I am disabled and am on the Autism spectrum. I called my state run health conglomerate after my Mom died because I wanted grief counseling. I had been there for assessment in the past. I asked if they still had my record and they said yes.As we got talking, they began pressing me toward getting a sex change. I never brought it up, THEY did. This was while I had not yet been seen due to the pan demic. Over 5 hours of questions, they kept pointing out the option. When I flatly refused , she said "You should do it... you can't get pregnant" " Go for it, the taxpayers will pay for it!"... ( I had plenty of surgery due to my endometriosis... Hysterectomy was not fun). I took this to their manager and got the run around.I wouldn't want Compass Health to treat my cat. Next time I called, they had destroyed my record there.

My lesbian aunt recently had breast cancer and had to get one of her breasts removed, she had to beg the doctors to also remove the other breast that was healthy. The doctors were suggesting things like prosthetics to conceal the missing breast, adamant that she could regret the decision to remove the other. They only agreed to it because my aunt used to work at that hospital for years and knew the doctors personally. How is this level of concern about even a potential regret completely absent here. My aunt is almost 60, married to a woman thats even older than her and is very masculine anyways, yet the doctors still fought to convince her of the risks she was taking. Comparatively here you have children with 0 life experience, a body that isnt even fully developed, multiple mental illnesses and a very confused sense of identity that is not in line with reality getting their breasts removed "just in case" and they can just "get them back later".

My MIL also had bc, did have double mastectomy, after insisting she didn't want to risk getting bc again. Turns out she had the beginning of bc, a different type, in the "non-cancerous" breast. It has been common practice for student doctors to learn how to do pelvic exams by practicing on women who have been anesthetized for surgery, without their consent for quite some time. Women going in for random surgeries could have a line of interns lining up to penetrate them without them ever knowing about it. A large percentage of doctors SAed patients during their training, just because they were told to do so, so it's not surprising that that they would abuse patients in other ways when told that it's common practice. Paid volunteers were always an option, but it was cheaper to do it to unconscious women without telling them. Their excuse for not getting permission beforehand was that they were afraid that the women would refuse. They didn't want them to have that option. Only a few states have outlawed this practice. So I don't find it surprising that doctors don't give a crap about ethics.

My daughter was in the midst of mental health crises through the majority of her middle school and early high school years. She thought she wanted to become a boy and is a lesbian. She was dressing as a male and binding her breasts. While in a family therapy session, she called me out as an unsupportive mother, because at 14 years of age, I had not taken her a doctor to start the treatments for her to transition to a boy. I told her that she couldn’t even get out of the bed in the morning without crying and having a meltdown- there was no way I was taking her to start a sex change. I told her once she was mentally stable AND over 18 years of age, if she still wanted to be a male, I would support her 💯 and take her to any medical appointments and procedures. Until then, I would support her sexuality but would not condone medications or procedures. Within 3 months, she stopped binding her breasts and started dressing more feminine. She’s now 20, and has a steady boyfriend. She may consider herself bisexual (and that’s fine with me) but she’s currently in a heterosexual relationship. Thank God I had the common sense and fortitude to stand my ground and listen to my gut. Had I not and allowed the mutilation and hormones, her life would have been horrendous due to irreversible damage

I’ve been saying this for a long time. In the next ten years, the flood gate of lawsuits against the trans medical industrial complex will make the lawsuits against big tobacco in the 1990s seem quaint. Every hospitals, clinics, doctors, surgeons, psychiatrists, universities, public and private schools, non profits, government agencies, activist groups, media outlets, governors, state government, local governments, local school boards and parents will be sued into oblivion. If I were a HS or college freshman right now, I’d study law. You’ll have a job for life.

From a legal point of view, in virtually all countries with an established system of jurisprudence the concept of consent presupposes an age of mental maturity which must be attained before an individual's consent, informed or otherwise, can be legally recognized and acted upon. This should emphatically prohibit a minor child from consenting to the procedures under discussion here!

My heart dropped when I was listening to the two surgeons who were operating on the tv trans child Jazz. They obviously did not have the slightest idea of what they were doing, one shockingly saying “WHY did you cut that!?” To the other during the awkward process. What made them think they could join mucus membrane to outer skin, move hair growing areas inside the body, and force blood circulation to service different areas than normal? The justice system cannot physically de-sexualize a r@pist, but they can do it to a confused child who has not yet had an org@sm or a baby.

My son was told at his outdoor program that saying in front of the group when the topic comes up, that gender disphoria is a mental condition, and not that going along with this, or questioning it, makes some students feel "unsafe" and if he says such things again he will be expelled.

I had this conversation with mother, who was a nurse for 13 years in the army. She was a field medic. She was also a head nurse at the burn unit in San Antonio where they did experimental treatment for burns, and my wife who is now a nurse working at Walter Reed actively treating lots of these patients. After a brief 15 minute breakdown of the situation, my mother's conclusion was this is experimentation. My wife, who is treating these people actively had a much more compassionate response but clearly couldn't justify the concept of this being a reasonable medical procedure. In the respect of" I will do no harm quote or it's a more beneficial procedure than the repercussions. I think both of those are pretty standard in the medical field when evaluating a situation. I'm extremely grateful that such a amazing journalist and his team are covering this and I think it's one of, if not the most important things going on right now that needs to be shut down and people need to be held accountable.

When I was in college, more years than I care to admit to, I remember reading that back in the 17th century, parents of children of the Vennia boys choir would castrate their adolescent boys so they wouldn’t go through puberty. The parents did this so their sons could continue to to sing in the choir. I remember thinking, how could parents do that to their own children. I was able to take solace in the fact that was hundreds of years ago, and at least that level of insanity would never happen today. That was many years ago!
