I had a high school history teacher, a young guy who was at most 30, my senior year. He told us about his apartment hunting. He found this great apartment, good rent price, etc., and he was shone the apartment on a Sunday. His first week there, he started getting fliers dropped off at his door for various activities in the apartment complex. It was all bingo and other stereotypical elderly people activities. That's how he figured out that he'd moved into a place populated mostly by senior citizens! They showed him the place on the weekend while the majority of the residents were off visiting their grandchildren! So it was a nice quiet place, with nice people, who were the age of his grandparents, and didn't make any noise after 8/9 pm! I can't believe that we didn't give him more crap over this story! Lol He was such a nice teacher and we were in an elective (not required) history class...European History...don't get me started on how that wasn't a requirement...and people outside the U.S. wonder why we don't know anything?!

I've lived in the equivalent of council houses for over 10 years. If the concept is foreign to anyone it's basically housing provided to people who can't keep a regular apartment through private contract for any reason AND pensioners and immigrants. You could be lucky and get that quiet little pensioner next to you or a hard working and completely regular immigrant family. Or you can get the outcasts. The odd ones. The drug addicts and their dealers, the slightly dubious.... You just never know, but it's never gonna be boring.

Law and order, I think the police have lost a lot of their power especially when oil protesters barricade bridges in London disrupting traffic and allowed to remain, imo. One driver attempted to clear the road and they immediately cuffed and took him off 👎🇬🇧 🤔 Understand protests but not to the danger of others, ambulances
