Man, that article about scooter accidents brings back some childhood trauma of my own; back in the 2000s, I used to live in a town where my home was behind a creak with a gravel path that lead around it to other streets, and there was one pathway that lead up to a very steep incline that would go to the local shops. When I was five years old, I ended up traveling down that incline on my scooter, ended up falling forwards and skidded across the gravel on my face. I ran home, screaming and bloody, got rushed to the hospital immediately and ended up with bandages on my face for weeks. I'm now 25 and I still have very faint scars from that experience.

dude, that sucks. The worst injury I have ever gotten on a body part was when I broke my ring finger on my left hand when a bike landed on it and squished it. I was a stupid kid, and a friend dared me to go down the hill, full speed, on a bike, so again, being the stupid kid that I was, I did it. Then, I flew forward, landed at the end of the hill, the bike comes down, squishes my ring finger, and I’m crying for help. Yeah… No fun.

To be fair, the THPS series were also technically licensed games due to the hundreds of IRL properties that endorsed the series like Birdhouse, Blind, Spitfire, etc. Only difference is they had a formula they nailed.

i bought this as i was a scooter rider (until my mobilty issues started) and a ps1 fanboy. i know it was made by razor but it always thought it was strange and dangerous that the characters used folding scooters in the game. trick scooters are solid prieces of metal for a reason. if a kid, after playing this game, took a flimsy razor scooter off a ramp that could be bad.

If I drew ANYTHING like the story/cut scenes in this game in college my teachers freshman year would have said "Maybe art school isn't for you". SCOOTALITY! Also, as a level designer/texture artist that's worked on shitty games I wanted nothing to do with before, I ACTUALLY understand the mindset of the 3 guys in costumes. They were probably devs working on this train wreck that needed to blow off some steam. I had a razor, they were huge in like 1995-2006. I could do a few cool tricks. Mostly bunny hop, helecopter, and short grinds... That last one only worked till you chew up the bottom and the scooter.
