COBB Stage 1+ upgrade, strut tower brace, and custom 2.5” Magnaflow exhaust (Magnaflow 12268 replacing stock resonator, with 2.5” pipe from stock cat, and dual 2.5” pipes terminating in 4” polished chrome tips). It isn’t a GT, but it isn’t a slouch either. I love it!

Thanks for highlighting this car. This High-Performance Ecoboost with the Handling Package and in a 6-speed manual is the Mustang for me. I live in California where the gas prices are INSANE but at the same time, we have some really amazing roads for drivers so any kind of fuel savings is a big deal. The fact we can get all these performance bells and whistles while saving some gas over the GT version is a big win for me plus I even think it is cheaper to insure over the V8. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound and performance of the GT but I also love actually driving my cars and this High-Performance Ecoboost sounds amazing for a turbo 4 and it has some good performance. This High-Performance Ecoboost Mustang with the Handling package is seriously on my shortlist for a RWD sports car with a 6-speed manual. Crazy to think this Ecoboost High-Performance Mustang makes more HP than the 1999-2001 Mustang SVT Cobra with its 4.6L V8.

I had a 2019 EB 10 speed 101A PP with Magneride and active exhaust and the Ford Performance tune.. It was a fun car especially on the country roads. When the used car market went through the roof I traded it in on a leftover GT premium that someone else never picked up. The dealership had sat on the GT for 6 months and wanted to unload it and the price they gave me for the EB made it a deal I couldn't resist. The handling difference between the 2 cars is very noticeable. The Magneride and lighter weight of the EB made it fun on tight twisty roads. The GT acceleration and sound though. I have the active exhaust and a Roush H pipe. My neighbors definitely know when I start my car. 😆

As an Gen X owner, I am totally satisfied with this car. I grew up in love with the 5.0 fox body but as a daily driver this is just something fun to drive and is perfect. The 5.0 would have made me want to buy a loud obnoxious Corsa exhaust and the loud Coyote just isn’t my thing anymore and I think I am just fine with the performance of the upgraded 2.3. It truly does rip when you want it to and always room for tunes down the road. The six speed really does make it more engaging over the 10 speed. Oil changes are half the price, the insurance is way cheaper over the 5.0 and doing any motor work later on down the road, there is plenty of room under the hood and only one head to deal with. The perfect mustang for this Gen X’r really does exist.

My 'downgrade' from an '18 GT really doesn't feel like a downgrade, yeah its short on power in straight line compared to my old GT but it out handles it in every other way, plus I have magneride and active exhaust that I didn't have on my base GT. I had a 2018 EB 6speed Cobb Tuned and maxed out. Upgraded to a 2019 5.0 premium package 6 speed the following year and tuned that by Lund with E85. After that upgraded to a 2020 fully loaded premium package 6 speed also tuned by Lund but went from flex fuel to boost with the ESS G2 Supercharger Kit. Once you boost a GT you'll see why the Ecoboost could never replace a boosted V8 Yote or Voodoo Engines. It has a place however. I also own a s197 V6 a few years ago but by far the s550 5.0 is the best platform I've driven so far.

Ford won't build a V6 EcoBoost Mustang because they know it would kill the sales of the 5.0. EcoBoost engines are so easily upgraded. Just think of the potential the EcoBoost Mustang with the 3.5 EcoBoost engine from the Raptor, F150, or Ford GT would have. Yes I know you can add power adders to a 5.0 also but I'm saying just stock. Basically it would have around the same HP as a Mustang GT and lighter. But that will never happen. Someone will do an engine swap eventually though I'm sure.

Might have been mine that you seen, had a 2021 hpp in carbonized grey, traded it in for a 2023 mustang gt in purple. Honestly speaking, after having the hpp for 2 years, I can say it is an all around good car, it’s decently fast, it’s economical, it’s lightweight and nimble at the corners, it’s a great daily. Just got this GT and no lie I’m thinking to myself does anyone really need this much power besides to be loud and somewhat faster then the hpp. I say no , you don’t really need a GT, but the GT is scarily fun. I never had a car this fast. The hpp is a great car, never tuned it but wishing I did

@@jakerodrocks I live in the valley and I’m in the Bay Area a lot , my 2021 carbonized grey hpp didn’t come with the magneride or digital dash. I had a 2015 ecoboost before this the hpp. Honestly speaking here, I was never really a car guy until I got my first sports car but as I progressed in my understanding of cars, my appreciation for faster and louder cars grew. I got the hpp because it was a well rounded car given gas and looking nice. Thinking the hpp was fast and nimble was great but driving it I never thought it could get better but sir it can. And honestly I think i caved in to social and societal pressures of people constantly questioning why I didn’t get the v8. Because what’s a mustang without a v8? That was not a mistake, there is truth in what others say I believe. This v8 has power that scared me right off the lot, it’s a primal feeling driving and hearing it. If you read this, thank you Jake Rod and I hope you continue to enjoy the hpp, because I loved that car .

Great video!!!!!!!! The only correction I can make is Shelby American DID in fact make their version of this HPP car 2016 to 2020). It is called a SHELBY GTE and comes in either a V8 or I4, Manual or Auto, convertible or coupe and a supercharger for the V8 ($8,000 to $10,000 extra). I think you know the drill, you find the "donor car" and send it to Shelby American in Las Vegas. Mine was a relatively brand new 2017 I4 Ecoboost "Pony Car Package" coupe with Recaro seats as my donor car. The SA, LVN conversion was just a bit under $23,000 for the GTE package with options PLUS it also came with some extra goodies like Performance Pack 2 front brakes, Mustang GT Strut Cross Bar and Shelby Interior. I had Shelby American set it up for "highway/touring" with the Borla Exhaust, engine tune and suspension set up. It is a tremendous car, handles great, gets you almost 31 mpg (if you keep your foot out of it) BUT more importantly, will catapult you from 70mph to over 110mph in the blink of an eye. I have pics if you are interested

All of the newer Ford 4 cylinder motors have an issue with the block cracking between Cylinder 2 and 3. More boost can only cause this to happen sooner. Right now its happening frequently anywhere from 34k-50k miles. Sometimes you get lucky and it doesn't happen, but never count on being lucky. Ford has really been lacking in motor quality lately.
