Awesome! Thanks for the compliment :) I do LOVE my birds and I love helping people increase their bond. Parrots are amazing, I'm grateful every day to have them. Of course, when we deep-clean the cages, I feel a little less gratitude! LOL

I have a female and male parrotlet and a green cheek. I would choose a parrotlet over a green cheek for sure. My male parrotlet is the best talker over my flock. My green cheek has as pretty good vocabulary but he can be a little nippy. My female parrotlet is a total snuggle bug. I do agree that budgies can be really great birds if you put in the time. But I just love a parrotlets great personalities!!
@nayelibec2 жыл бұрын
Can confirm with the female parrotlet! Ironically I was originally going for a green cheek or a male parrotlet but my yellow girl 🦜 found me and I was in awe at how smart, bubbly and cuddly she was and is. Although she probably will never talk I found out today she mimics sounds and tones in her chirpy voice

Our budgies eat both seed mixes as well as lots of herbs and wild foods foraged from the garden & the forest behind our home. Things like wild coriander, chickweed, shepherds purse, dandelion flowers, wild tall grasses seeds, etc. They are great pets as they are always hanging out with you (talking their heads off) but also great fliers so they fly off & away from our shoulders, much more than the way your linnies seem to stay on you, forever!

Your budgies have a great diet! I love that you have a garden- that's awesome. Yes, Linnies are quite different. Very sweet little guys!

It’s interesting you say that because I absolutely love parakeets. They have empathy. I’ve had both Australian and English buddies and I love them both so much!!! My English budgie Angel is so attached to me that she is basically part of me. Even though her bed time used to be 7pm she absolutely refuses to go to bed without me. Her giant cage is right next to my bed so she can climb all the way to the bottom is she wants to peek through the three towels I use to cover is so she can see me sleeping next to her. I absolutely love her so much! Hahaha she hates being in her cage because I’ve spoiled her by mostly having her out on my shoulder (it’s her throne) she’s so obsessed with sitting on my shoulder that she will jump on the wall of her cage demanding to be let out whenever I walk by. Although she’s such a good girl that whenever I have to put her in her cage she looks at me and nods her head up and down giving me kisses. Like yes mom I know mom but I love you! When she’s on my shoulder she showers me in kisses and tells me how much she loves me. We are so bonded and I feel extremely blessed to have such an incredible baby. Being a bird mom is such a blessing. Not only is she the incredible, but she’s my best friend and I love her so much that it makes me tear up. She really is her namesake an Angel. My cottonball puff girl. Such a sweet baby chicken. Her kisses are everything. She makes me feel so loved. She doesn’t just say I love you, she also says I love you too like she understands what it means. She’s highly intelligent and when I’m sad she always cheers me up I’m not even kidding, because she has empathy, she goes above and beyond until I go from crying to laughing. She’s so special. I highly recommend experiencing that with a parakeet because trust me when I say there’s nothing like that type of love and empathy. 🥹🥰🐦🐥🪿🐓🪽😇👼🪽

Never buy budgies or birds from petco, petsmart, or other chains. All overbred from irresponsible breeders.
@ParrotBliss9 ай бұрын
You know, I don't like the way those chains keep the birds (often in separeate spaces and behind glass). However, they buy from reputable breeders, which I respect more than those who buy from the equivilant of puppy mills for birds.

I have 6 budgies, they are underrated & very under cared for on an overall around the world in my opinion, I'm always at home, they cost me loads in large cage, wood, toys etc worth it tho, they have such a fulfilled life and are very bonded with us, it just takes a LONG time it seems compared to other parrots and people are willing for the attention towards them, they are small so can often feel overwhelmed or threatened, mine are all english & american... not overbread, I disagree with buying or breeding japanese budgies since they die within a year or so no matter how well you keep them, the rest are fine in health if kept right!, writing a bunch about them on my birb blob idk if anyone will see this but wanted to write a semi short amount about them after spending a fair amount of time with them... basically wanted to say that their bond can become great with dedication! - love your videos btw :)

I have all three and every one of them are great birds. My budgie Bert used to say all kinds of things but when I adopted another budgie he kind of bonded to him and stopped talking. They are very smart, quirky and adorable little birds. Definitely underrated and sadly are treated as ‘throwaway’ pets. I see more budgies in terrible conditions than I have seen any other birds. My parrotlet Boo is an insanely intelligent bird, he picks up words and phrases that I never even tried teaching him and he is a contextual speaker. He is very sweet, adorable, and is pretty friendly with most people though he prefers me. He also picks up things in training a lot quicker than my other birds. He can also be a feisty little thing, very fearless, is quick to let you know when he doesn’t like something and will stand his ground with anything. He is my least flighty bird. My green cheek Leeloo is super sweet, loving, a bit skittish with new people but warms up quickly and becomes very loving. Definitely my most demanding bird, and my most jealous. She loves to dance, tries to whistle like my cockatiel but it comes out like little shrieks. She sort of says peekaboo, but doesn’t really talk. Stubborn as all get out, a food thief, and a troublemaker. She likes to steal things from me and fly away as a game. Her favorite thing to do is rip the paper I am sketching on from under me and fly off with it. Then she’ll look at me and start shredding it from her little cargo net in the ceiling that I now regret putting up for them because she knows I can’t reach her lol. She also likes to steal pencils, remotes, and pretty much likes to take off with anything but the many toys that I have bought her. All in all though, I love all my birds to death. You can’t go wrong with any of them but if you have limited time to spend playing with or interacting with your bird then a conure isn’t going to be for you because they demand attention. My budgies are happy being let out to fly around the room and entertain themselves. My parrotlet likes attention on his terms, he’s pretty independent but he also needs his one on one time occasionally. In my opinion no bird needs to be caged all day every day so I don’t think any are suited for that but some are less demanding and challenging to raise than others.
@ParrotBliss2 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed reading your post and about your birds. I agree- GCC need the most social attention and none of them should be in their cage all the time. Love your thief!
@Ash435092 жыл бұрын
@@ParrotBliss Thanks! She is a handful but she’s too loveable to be mad at lol. I’m also really glad that there is someone talking about how underrated budgies are. They are so smart and just as much of a ‘parrot’ as any other parrot species. They have great little personalities and are super cute.

@@ParrotBliss I agree! My budgies know several tricks, do great with target training and sometimes they are the first to figure out the foraging puzzles. Sometimes I wish they weren’t so cheap and easily available so that people wouldn’t impulse buy them for their kids all the time like they do with hamsters.

I have all three. Love them to death! Conures are the most clingy, then parrotlets and the budgies are pretty independent. My conure is the most hands on and friendly bird but I adore my parrotlets and budgies as well. My parrotlets are the most territorial and bossy and jealous by far but also the best talkers. The budgies are the most fun to watch and listen to but also the most dust. I feel like the bond you’d have with a budgie and parrotlet is similar. But the bond with a conure is different, you belong to that conure they own you lol. It really depends on your needs and what you want in a companion they are all so different from one another.

We’ve got budgies. I grew up with a budgie. Her name was Josephine Bonaparte! She was a gift from an adult cousin who raised them. She was not tame. I think I was around 4 yrs old. They really are tiny parrots. Mine love balsa wood toys and natural palm leaf toys. Parrotlets are so adorable but I would choose a GCC. They just speak to me. (I left you another message on IG) 🥰🥰🥰
