I heard it's very expensive as well, so even once a year seems like a huge commitment, 'cause without even factoring the ticket cost, yhe stuff you buy inside is already enough to take a toll on your wallet. A one-day trip to Disney once a year seems like a weekend trip to a foreign country, while also being worse since if you visit a different country each time that's a lot of new food, new experiences, new aesthetics, whereas I don't think Disney puts a lot of new stuff each year to make the trip and spending worth it.

The only Disney stuff I have at my house are a couple mugs and movies, I don't keep up with the films or tv shows, but I enjoy video essays about movies I like and looking into Disney history, and whenever I am in the Anaheim area for work or whatever, I go to Downtown Disney for dinner and to walk around. At one point in my life I had a Disneyland Annual Pass and went a few times a year despite living in Northern California. I always thought I was a Disney adult because I am an adult who enjoys Disney. I never thought it was such a red flag 😕 can't really change that I like Disneyland, though.

The main problem with Nintendo is that there is so much legal grey area in America for emulation that people do not want settled because if it was games preservation would be in trouble. For example they don’t take down Japanese fan games because fan works are legal in Japan. Also Nintendo’s only asset is their brand, and can projects have a chance to tarnish it.

Guy here. I enjoy astrology & have in fact used it unironically. There are just levels of it. There are people who find it fun & occasionally useful, like myself. & there are people who are batshit insane & base everything in their life around it. There is also a lot of disingenuousness within the spiritual community. People using it for control & manipulation. There is more to a person's personality than a sign. That's the basic fortune cookie version of it. My birth month would place me as a Gemini. However using a sidereal chart, which considers location & time as well as date, makes my Sun a Taurus instead, which is far more accurate. In sidereal you get a sign for each planet. Each planet influencing certain things. So while my overall (Sun) may be Taurus, I have Gemini traits in Jupiter. Aries traits in Mercury & Venus. I don't know enough to give a proper explanation. But there is faaaaaaar more to it to one of 12 signs assigned at birth. Is it real science? No. But neither is a lot of the corporate-funded "science" we hear about that we're supposed to govern our lives with. The original science backed food pyramid for example had us eating mostly bread. Guess which companies funded that research? There is very little we can actually KNOW out there outside of personal experience. So at a certain point we all rely on faith. & yes being told by an authority that something is true without actually knowing for yourself, that is faith.

You can’t really compare astrology and food pyramids though. The food pyramid is a guide, a recommendation of what you should eat, and guides can be incorrect depending on your situation. Astrology is a statement about reality, it is saying reality is XXX, those two are very different thing. The real problem with Disney adults is that Disney is made for children. The real boundary between "Disney adult" and "not Disney adult" is going to one of the parks alone, or with friends but not family. Originally, Walt Disney made both his movies and his parks as a parent first- he made things for his young daughters, and thus, all other children as well. All of the greatest stories made for children were written by parents. Nowadays, childless weirdos have taken over and simply build everything around nostalgia. There's nothing wrong with parents enjoying the parks with their children, but Disney Adults are people that don't want to grow up. It's an extremely unhealthy mindset, and thus, why Disney adults are red flags.

That's an erroneous observation. Comparing Disney to anime is similar to comparing a cup of water to an ocean. The water inside that cup is restricted to that cup but the ocean has way more variety. Anime isn't catered to kids, but a subset of anime are, the same way Disney, a subset of the entertainment industry, caters to younger audiences, which doesn't sufficiently mean the entertainment industry itself caters to children. For example, I definitely wouldn't recommend higurashi, blood-c, and other evidently mature animes to kids. @@thomasffrench3639
