On return, does the battery need to be fully charged?

I certainly wouldn't have an EV as a daily, many reasons as to why i wouldn't. I'll stick with a real car, have bought a VF Calais V Sportwagon back in april, which i certainly like a good bit. So yeah, maybe give a Shitela a run once, why not. But that's it. And would also go with my grandad's 1995 Camry over one of those battery cars anyday. A fairly standard car, but better than an EV too, certainly much cheaper to buy & own, lasts way longer, and those 2.2's are pretty much bulletproof, super reliable too

Many critics of certain vehicles have never driven them, but they’ll bag the crap out of them every chance they get. It’s good to drive a range of vehicles, and really see what they are all like. A 5 minute dealer test drive is not a proper drive. Hiring a car like you have done gives you a chance to really get a feel for it, in real world driving. I’m not a Tesla fan either, but for what they are, and who they are aimed at, they perform well. They just need to fix the ego and fanboi issues they generate….. Same situation with Corollas and Camrys. They have a target market, and that market loves them. With some rare exceptions, most of them are boring as bat crap to drive, but 90% or more of todays drivers don’t care - they just want a kelvinator - a reliable appliance with no soul, that’s cheap to maintain.

I like to hear a motor, changing to something silent would put me to sleep.
