I’m a retail player (since beta) not big on classic but I gotta say this has me interested. I think the selling point for me is when it’s over the characters get moved over to retail and all the cosmetics. It feels like a timewalking event for retail rather than a completely separate thing like classic.

@@stkoutsI went back and read the announcement and it doesn’t say you will carry over your gear into DF. It lists mog, achievements, etc. You can get gear higher ilevel than mythic in this, so it’s possible when your character is converted they give you DF boost gear and replace your timerunning gear.

I'm glad basically all of the cosmetics aren't class locked and are relatively easily available. I do really worry Blizz will do their usual idiotic fun police move of making the MoP Legendary cloak illusion toys be something dumb like 5 min duration on 2 hour cooldown, while still having the original "only occasionally pop up and then disappear again" thing. Literally nobody anywhere cares about people using toys to transform their character or anything like that. Make every toy have no cooldown and/or no duration limit. If the 0.1% of players that play PvP care so much, just make it so all toys and transformation buffs and such just don't work in instanced PvP areas like arenas and BGs, but let the actual 99.9% of players just have fun already.

I agree 100%. I don't really do alts, but I found myself leveling 5 alts when WoD was current, so a curated leveling version might be a good fit.

28 only? I've played for about 17 years too now. I've made over 100 chars that I've lvled to max now through each expansions... I like to reroll quite a lot and play several alts through each expansion. I'm in the state where I've had to remove chars to be able to even make new ones lol. And I got 2 active accs, and a 3rd that is currently not subbed to.

Joined WoW with some friends during WoD and have never really played through pandaria….tried but leveling was always tough after they changed the heirlooms. Been playing this and while I’m only level 30 I’m having a ton of fun, I like this idea especially for allied races if you want to earn their heritage armor and such.

So glad that they've increased rep gains, so it isn't a slog. But I wonder, if you want to do campaign quests for example Thunder King , is it still rep gated or available from the start? And will they make the rares spawn more often? And finally, can you sell the scrolls or other items from mobs, besides armor?

I've tested it a bit on the PTR, and it's surprising how fun it is, despite being the same content we played ten years ago. What really helps it is the loot. Every non-breadcrumb quest gives an item cache that contains a piece of gear, around 20 bronze, a consumable/gem, and sometimes a thread. These consumables include stat buff scrolls that work just like Power Word Fortitude or Arcane Intellect (so great for groups). Threads are also great, since even basic mobs can drop them. Killing a couple extra tigers and getting a permanent +1 Stamina or +1 Haste makes every step feel rewarding, even if it isn't really. So it is a BIT of a skinner box mode, but so far the only rewards that are locked to this mode are relatively cheap. Sure, you could grind this nonstop on several characters to purchase all the old stuff... or just go to Pandaria right now and try to get it. Finally, what really helps this event is just how good Mists of Pandaria is- the zones, the music, the lore, the dungeons, the characters, and the moments both silly and serious. I'm biased because this was my first full expansion, but this is unironically peak WoW.

@@tekumotouchiha7976 2 days i got to about halfway to max on my dh on the ptr but i also spent time not just in dungeons and was out doing stuff like playing keep up with my baby dragon that you can eventually get the cloud serpent mounts from just to have some fun but optimally i seen people maxed in 2 days of grinding non stop in lfr and scenarios becuase you can repeat lfr on the ptr back to back to back and do scenarios while waiting if you are a dps since no instaque but i play tanks so i just spammed the lfr mostly instead of scenarios because they are just more fun to me then 3 mans i do love them tho just love raiding more

It's been a lot of fun playing this on the PTR! Especially continuously looting new stats for your cloak and abilities to choose from helps make this feel like fresh content to play. My only concern is the acquisition rate for Bronze. Just the new mounts alone will combined cost over 100k Bronze, which during leveling feels like a far out of reach amount to grind out

Blizz themselves said bronze will be slow to earn in early levels, but players will be near drowning in it later at 70. Also seen plenty of reports that killing rares and looting treasures and such give pretty sizable chunks of bronze. And let's not forget that you can scrap any gear you get into bronze as well, so if you start doing daily/weekly lockouts for dungeons and raids, you'll be getting a lot of loot you don't need, and scrapping it all is the only way to get rid of it.

Mop was when i burned myself out and become number 1 holy priest on my realm and number 3rd priest over all. I remember logging in on non raid nights typing i was board and watching all these guilds message me to go raiding with them. It still to this day is one of my favourite places to go as everything looks so nice and peaceful. I can't wait

Shame, time-limited, cause it looks like it will take a long time to get enough Bronze to get a lot of these goodies. I am so excited for this, I played a lil, and I love how it makes you feel so powerful. 2-3 shoot mobs down. This is good to play a toon that you struggle with levelling. This is exactly what Chromie Time should have been. I love the Gem System is seeing some love, Also I was absolutely disgusted that Plunder wasn't used to unlock gear or transoms but used in Dragonflight for upgrade currency, Plunder should have been the same as Bronze is here, useable in the event for many a thing ( Since it was Pirate themed it could have been used to collect sets and what not from BfA) but all that aside. I am actually VERY interested in this new Game Mode and I hope see it more integrated in actual Retail WoW.

With the cloak - new characters don't get all the stats from the cloak - that would give a level 10 thousands of stamina and main stat, which would break the game. You get all the EXP gain at level 10, and a tiny amount of all the other stats (more of the stamina than others in the PTR), which does make leveling much faster, and makes you much stronger, but you don't start with a level 10 that has half a million health, and can one-shot dungeon bosses. As you level secondary toons, you continue upgrading the cloak, and at certain breakpoints you get an additional amount of the full stats on the cloak, then get 100% of the stats at level 70.

Love that even tho the legendary cloak Is no longer available, once you unlock the transmog or an equivalent of It Ordos and the Sanctuary will no longer be locked on your account. Having real life, and not being In a guild to ever obtain the cloak I'm glad I'll be able to actually do content that's been blocked for me
