Ajim the reason many Africans don't appreciate Thier own African ideas is because the stereotype anything western as superior to ours. I can tell you Africa is stagnant because we did not evolve the ideas of our ancestors. I love Nigeria because Nigeria is original and only the wise can see this.

Is not that Nigerians do not appreciate what they have. Is that spirit of pursuit for excellence. They do not want to settle for anything less. So naturally, they are the first to criticize the status quo before giving compliments.I agree with you that the criticism is more than the compliments. We need to balance both. Thanks for helping to change the narrative.

The truth is that Nigerians are not patriotic enough to defend their national interest. The stigma associated to Nigeria was and is still caused by Nigerians who speak ill of the country. They have given arsenal to Ghanaians and SAs to throw shades - even to think Nigeria is a shit-hole. You will never see an average Kenyan, Ghanaian or South African speak bad about their country despite the challenges they go through. Those countries are not better than Nigeria yet those other Nationals defend the image of their respective countries - there is pride in that. Thanks Ajim for debunking the negative narrative.👊🏿

@@bestekezie1793 The problem is that Nigerians like to blow our challenges out of proportion. Kenya is a very corrupt country (on par with Nigeria) yet they manage to keep it on the low because they know sensational news can potentially affect the influx of tourists in their country. See, Nigerians want to run before they can crawl. We are too damn impatient. We want Nigeria to be like New York, London or even Paris over night forgetting that it took these cities centuries to be where they are at today. London in the 1800's is different to what it is today - baby steps took them to where they are today. Nigeria is a relatively new country and we are developing at our own pace. It's a collective effort -government agencies making sure they are disbursing and using allocated funds resourcefully to build and enhance strucures, Nigerians at home making sure they are civil, law abiding and helping to keep our streets clean by disposing litter appropriately and Nigerians abroad through their remittances channel them in the right place - support local businesses and other private developments.

Ajim, if you get a chance, try to visit Edo State, Enugu State and Abuja but just show those Ghanaians Owerri city in Imo state and Benin city in Edo state so that they will know that Nigerian cities are so beautiful. How many of Nigerian cities can we count that someone from a village in Nigeria will just go to Accra and fool them that Ghana is beautiful and better than Nigeria? Ghana should know that Nigeria is way ahead of them in everything.
