Season 3 is my favorite season of the Mandalorian. I enjoyed Jack Black and Lizzo. They were fun characters, who showed the flaws or cracks in the New Republic structure. The Mon Cal/Quarren romance at the beginning of that episode showed that even though the war between the two species is over, old prejudices still exist within the old guard (the Mon Calamari Viceroy is pissed her son hooked up and ran away with the Quarren Captain, despite there being peace between the two species) Later, Christopher Lloyd's character is angry because Jack Black's character (a formal Imperial) is in a position of power and influence on his democratic planet. So he tries to discredit him by creating the Droid problem. As Kuiil says, "None will be free until the old ways are gone." The Mandalorians are moving past the old ways. Even if Din was redeemed and stayed true to CoTW beliefs, it's clear by the end of the season 3 even CoTW are evolving some of their beliefs on what makes one Mandalorian. Ragnar's Creed doesn't include the "never remove your helmet" part. And Bo-Katan's crew keep their helmets on during the ceremony, showing respect for their CoTW peers. The Armorer literally spells out Mando Season 3's plot in BoBF. "Legends tell of the Mythosaur rising up to herald a new age of Mandalore." A new age often means reform in some way. It doesn't have to be a new leader. Bo-Katan has seen her errors and learned what works and what doesn't as she has walked both worlds as the Armorer said. Din is the Western Hero archetype. He often helps bring about change, but he doesn't stick around to be a part of it. Yes, he's a strategist, warrior and a Lancelot, but he's not a leader. He is The Lone Wolf with his Cub. BoBF is Boba's story post-sarlacc, and how he evolves from bounty hunter to leader of Tatooine. He even states his intentions and why he's moved on from bounty hunter to Fennec. In Mando S2, he repaints his Armor, changing the markings on his helmet from yellow to red. I was intrigued by this and looked it up. Turns out, his yellow helmet markings in ESB and RoTJ meant that he was seeking Vengeance (probably for Jango's death and other things). The Red Repaint means he's honoring a parent and no longer seeking that Vengeance. Character development FTW. In the bigger picture, BoBF is a "Book" in Din & Grogu's story. Like a book in the Bible, i.e. The Book of Genesis or The Gospel According to Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. I know people don't like the Biblical comparison, but western religious parallels are there. Just like the Jedi have elements of eastern religious mythology woven into their code, style, etc. It's a long-term storytelling masterclass by Jon & Dave, IMO. I think Rey and the "Force is Female" left a bad taste in everyone's mouth that they refuse to move on from. Or they are angry Disney didn't follow Legends Continuity. Legends Continuity still exists. Disney didn't stop printing those stories (they could have, mind you). Legends is still there for you to enjoy alongside the new Canon stuff. And the whole "well this must happen this way, because that's how my head canon plays it out" BS. Theorizing is fine, but making it an expectation is silly.

I say this so many times… so much of the hate is because Star Wars fans, particularly the vlogging community, tend to be highly creative people who build up a storyline in their head and expect a show to conform to the narrative and story they have created for themselves. We’ll call this their “head canon”. When the show doesn’t live up to their ‘head canon’ or goes in a different direction than they thought it should… then they become a bunch of whiny a-holes who didn’t get their way. I’ve told several of them, if the storyline you created for yourself in your expectations of the show is so good… why aren’t you working for Lucasfilm in their story group? My point to all of this is, be emotionally invested in the show, but let the show unfold and enjoy it for what it is presenting, not your expectation of what it should be presenting. It will make your world a much happier place. If you have grand ideas, and want to see them turned into reality, apply to work for Lucasfilm… who knows, you may find yourself being on the story team if your ideas are what they are looking for…. Then you too can be the subject of the next fan’s ire! Anyway, I love the content you are creating Gerald, keep up the good work!

I completely agree honestly. I just wish people could appreciate the story that gets told sometimes, i can understand issues like execution from time to time, but hating a story just because it doesn't match up with someone's head canon is stupid, it's not our story to tell (unless you actually work on it i suppose).

I enjoyed season 3 of the Mandalorian. In my opinion, having part of the story play out in the Book of Boba Fett played a part in negative opinions. This trickled down into how Din Djarin and Grogu shared time with Bo Katan Kryze becoming a problem to people.

I've fallen in love with Season 3, it is quickly turning into my favourite season. Admittingly, for the first 5 episodes I was one of those who thought it had turned into the Bo show. It was Chapter 22 that got me to go back and re-evaluate what I'd already watched and realised how wrong I was. My thoughts (sorry it is long): 1) Season 3 couldn't have happened without Din's stubborn ways with the creed. Highly doubtful any Mandalorian would have set foot on Mandalore without his actions and words. 2) Bo followed Din, she respected him and what he was doing. Din got her out of her self pity. 3) Not only did we see the human fallible side of Din, but we also saw he is a very strong and capable Warrior, and one of the best Aviators. He has been like that since Season 1, it is what makes him such a lovable character. 4) Showed Din's relationships he has built (Ugnaughts and Greef for example). He has always been able to get allies to trust him, he is a diplomat. Next in line is Teva, bringing us into Season 4. 5) Took us back to Season 1 with Din's obvious hatred of B2 droids, he even regressed slightly due to it, but was able to recover. I'm sure we will return to that in seasons to come to find out who his family were and why this child was so important to save. 6) Showed Grogu's growing strength by the end of the season. People need to remember he is still a child. 7) We also saw growth in The Armourer, but ... if people think it means her covert will now start taking their helmets off, just look at different faiths around our own world, it doesn't work like that. It may happen but not straight away, may not even be Season 4. 8) RIP Paz, even his character had growth. 9) I hope The Judge will be back, he didn't do much but he stood out. Patience, people need to learn patience, it seems like a dying art. Not everything is told in one season, it is being spaced out.

I honestly loved Mando Season Three, *and* I thought it was an amazing season. It was such a fun adventure and a great story seeing Din and Grogu bond together and develop a connection with Bo-Katan. Plus it was a really great time seeing more of Bo becoming more in tune with Mandalorian culture and becoming a more effective leader. Some other extremely unpopular opinions: I absolutely loved the Jack Black episode. I needed a really good laugh for once, and seeing the silly moments from that episode and from Jack gave me the best grin with Star Wars in a long while. I genuinely mean that. I wasn’t big on Pershing’s episode. It’s nice for New Republic content, but it just feels like weird whiplash going from Mando to “slow burn” Andor drama, something I personally WANTED to get away from for a while. Also, I loved seeing more connections to the sequels. It finally feels like we’re actually connecting to those movies, at least as a sequel fan.
@lteelana

Yes, the Pershing stuff was a bit jarring. I think the Pershing part of episode 3 was supposed to be in "Rangers of the New Republic." Since that show was axed, the essential plot threads (what Gideon was up to with Pershing's research, faults of the New Republic) that were happening on that show needed to get folded in elsewhere (other shows). "Slow-burn drama" is exactly why I haven't watched Andor yet. I have to be in a mood or mindset for that type of content. Why do so many people hate the fun moments in Star Wars? Is it wrong that I want fun and goofy in my Star Wars adventures? To me that makes the drama and emotional beats hit more.

Season 3 made me kind of sad and a little upset when I first watched it. I had no exceptions about the storyline or Din becoming the Mandalor, I just had waited over 2 years for Season 3 of the show that turned me in to a child again, helping me thru the pandemic as a essential worker, finding a character I could so much relate too, there was a certain magic in this series that had me hooked. I actually like that Din needs help and isn’t unbeatable, that he has many flaws, but also that he grew so much and is a good negotiator, helping others too and making friends. I watched season 3 a couple of times now since it aired and all in all I like it now. I also like Katee Sackoff as Bo Katan and her story ark, but I also had a sigh of big relief when Din and Grogu where on their own again at the end. What still stings me about season 3 was that it treated Din Djarin and Grogu as side characters, just there to have to be rescued time and again by mighty Bo, the darling of the armorer. Din Djarin became Bo’s puppy dog, his development when it comes to the helmet rule dialed back to zero, just saying yes to everything he is told to do. There is that scenes where HE rescued Ragnar and Bo get the praise for it, HE asks for help for the people of Nevarro and Paz says, Din and Bo asked for their help. She also kept it a secret from him what she had seen in the waters. He can’t turn around without her being there or inserting herself in every conversation he has and then taking over. She isn’t much different from the Bo Katan of the Clone Wars, which wasn’t a good person. I am ok with her being the leader of Mandalor I wish her luck with that. All in all the season was good, especially the last 2 episodes, it just had no flow to it and the 40 out of 50 minute episode on Corrusant with Pershing could have been told in 10 minutes. And the Season should be renamed the Mandalorians. You can’t build up Din Djarin as THE Mandalorian and main character and then replace him with Bo Katan and expect people not to be at least a little upset, especially when the advertisements and posters clearly showed Din Djarin as the main character. I don’t and never will hate any character or opinion, but season 3 just lost the magic of seasons 1 + 2 for me.

I liked it. A lot of my ideas of what was going to happen were wrong, but I still enjoyed it overall. There were things I could have done without, but it was still some good story telling. As for Dr Pershing, when the mind scrambler got turned up to 11, I just figured he was toast and we won't be seeing him for a long time if ever. Adios Doc!, nice knowing ya! In a good story, you don't explain everything to the smallest detail, leave something to the reader's/viewer's imagination. I didn't hear it explained about what happened to Cara Dune, but figured she was on the craft that was carrying Moff Gideon to prison and didn't survive. It wasn't necessary to show her body. Sometimes you just have to make assumptions. And sometimes those assumptions are wrong, but those twists are part of great storytelling.

So exactly what would’ve happened had Big George Not Sold? Would the Sequels have come out when they did? Would we even have gotten Disney Plus and The Mandalorian not to mention all the series after that? We got the Clone Wars but where was George going to go from there? We have gotten A Lot Of Star Wars Content Is My Point, Not all good Or great to be fair Since His Sale. I feel spoiled some times at all this content because I’m 51 years old and remember after 1983 we waited until 1999 for New Content. Hey Gerald. Season 3 was great, I only think that it was badly slated because it is being watched by people who don't know anything about the mandalorian culture, the animated shows are fantastic and it's a shame that more people haven't seen them so as to understand what was happening. BO rocks as do the other mandoade. Lizzo/Jack Black surely people can just see them as actors. Looking forward to Season 4 Keep up the good work

Just rewatched Season 3 with a buddy that hadn’t seen it yet. This season excellently focused on Mandalorian culture as a whole. Seeing it again in it’s entirety really made me appreciate the story even more. Saw a few things things I’d missed or appreciated differently as part of the larger story. Judging each chapter before seeing the full season always seemed shortsighted of fans and reviewers. Getting more Bo Katan, The Armorer, and R5 is something that should be a delight. What I’d like to have seen is Moff Gideons escape from trial and not just leave it a mystery. As for Gideon I still think we haven’t seen the last of him by any means.

Oh, it wasn't bad at all. But it was a bit all over the place. My suspicion is because of the Cara Dune actress departure and consequent reshooting of some scenes it became a bit messy. Natural story progression was lost, I had some problems with them "sandwiching" Din&Grogu parts with Coruscant, but it was fine in the end. I just hope they get the show back on track in season 4.

I thought Season 3 was fine, even awesome in places. I love Bo Katan, and think her emergence as leader of the Mandalorian people is righteous. It takes nothing away from Din Djarin or his place in the Universe. She isn't some Mary Sue that was just came out of nowhere. She's a battle-tested, ass-kicking warrior. Even better, her chemistry with DD means there could be some romance in the air, which doesn't seem contrived or forced. I actually saw the potenial for this back in Season 2. For me Bo Katan is a great addition to the ongoing story. I don't understand why some people don't like her.

I enjoyed this season. The Mandalorian is a good show, but it's not what gets me excited about Star Wars. The only live action TV series that had me really excited was Andor, and I'm excited to see Ahsoka. The rest were just fun Star Wars rides that I can watch every once in a while. The Clone Wars and Rebels is peak Star Wars for me. The people complaining all the time about Star Wars are simply following a pop-culture trend, I think. There are genuine complaints out there, but I usually hear about those when having personal conversations with people who can be honest with themselves. The rest are just seeking attention and validation among their tribes.

Like other franchise fanbases, much of the Star Wars fanbase has become an unthinking herd of toxic negativity. S3 delivers on its goals of setting the story forward and expanding on canon. What I think is lacking is a clear goal for its characters. They have disputes for sure, and they work those issues out. Never did I feel like any character was really challenged. To change their beliefs, step outside their comfort zone, or see a solution no one else can see. Bo came close by stepping up to wield the Dark Saber, but this is not new territory for her. There is something to be said for working through past trauma and failure, but all she needed was a pep talk. The characters are static and until writers get some courage, the potential for these characters will be limited. We need more moments like: Luke acting on his insight and seeing humanity in his father, when no one else could see it. Din deciding to betray the guild because he couldn’t let the child die. Anakin’s fall to the dark side The best we got from this was a tenuous alliance between the Mandalorian clans. I think it would have been great to see that alliance challenged. Test their allegiances, trust, and integrity. This should have been Moff Gideon’s play. He even acknowledged it in the, “they are sworn enemies.” Perhaps this was the writer’s original plan, but had to cut that plan short due to time constraints.

I blame KZbin reviewers trying to get views. I noticed a few of them back tracking. I also believe because the story telling formula was changed. The overarching story might be serviceable, but where I think the show falls flat is the way it progresses episode to episode. Especially when you have something like The Bad Batch, that feels like it has real emotion behind it and uses its shorter runtime effectively, it is tricky when you have something like this, where many episodes don't feel special or unique anymore. The direction and individual writing has gotten so bland that it feels like you have no motivation to watch it. I think Jon Favreau and Dav Filoni don't care as much about it anymore, especially since Filoni is working on the Ashoka show. It felt less like it was made with love and more like it was made as a chore. The finale in particular feels weightless and you feel cheated into watching it. Just trying to defend the unsatisfaction people have been feeling, not trying to say anybody is wrong

My biggest problems have been things like having some of the greatest fighters fighting so stupidly against creatures that out mass them 100's, if not thousands, of times over. Yes! Lets lasso it! The only thing intrinsically bad with BoBF is the Mods. George Lucas was very keen on making sure that Star Wars looked and felt like a galaxy far far away, ie not having stuff we can easily recognize. Having a group called The Mods literally just be a carbon copy of the real life Mods subculture from 1906's UK is just...bad. Very bad. Especially when they were built up by Fuches from Barry to be this super cool group, I know we were all hoping to see cyborgs outfitted with B2 arms or commando Droid legs, etc.

i absolutely loved season 3. I think 90% of the people that claimed to hate it, loved it too. In general society has become very cultish. Controversy and hate draws more clicks. Especially in the youtube community. They care more about trying to appear to be different and clicks. Channels with more subs tend to have a more sheepish audience waiting to be told if it's ok to like things publicly. So whether it's someone's opinion or not, they will go with their dear leader's take. Unfortunately it is going to backfire. It will eventually lead to the show runners quitting or the execs firing them. Disney is going through some hard times and they are looking for things they need to cancel. Everyone's false hate has grabbed the wrong attention. When the show is cancelled, those same people will complain even more and blame someone else. I feel sorry for the cast too, especially Katie Sackhoff and Lizzo. The fandom was extra nasty to them for no reason at all.

I really enjoyed the Mandalorian season three. I didn't see them snatching Din and Grogu, and putting them to the side. I saw their growth. I like the intro of more Mandalorians and seeing more interaction with them. I think so many people didn't enjoy the season because of all of the leaks, theories and anticipation of how they wanted the story to go. They had already written the season before it began, and to save their ego, they attacked the show. Unfortunately, many follow their lead. Perhaps because I've been a fan for a long time, I don't mind just letting the story unfold and being surprised. That's my opinion. TITW.

I like it for the most part but I think some episodes would have been better spread out into other episodes. Dr Pershing story could have been done in 3 or 4 episodes instead of one. Jack black episode could have done that. Also grogu stuff shouldn't have been done in boba fett. But the mandalorians together episodes were fun. I think andor spoiled it a little.

I think season three was good, but it wasn’t great, and THAT is the problem. Too many people feel because Star Wars is a special thing to them that they need to love everything or they’re going to reject it, hate it, and call it Disney trash (despite actually enjoying MOST of it). I enjoyed the season, but I enjoyed seasons 1-2 much more. That being said, I personally look forward to season 4 and hope for many good seasons, and if we’re lucky, a few more great ones.

I loved The Mandalorian season 3 and was very surprised when reading other people's opinions on it and how much they didn't like it. Maybe one of the reasons is that everyone loves Din Djarin as character and as a favourite we all deeply wish to see how perfect he can be, how powerful and it was dissatisfying to see him loosing battles seeking help from bo-katan. I guess it is easy to forget he is no jedi(btw even anakin in clone wars didn't always win) and some of his enemies are really very powerful. Yes, he didn't get much character development for our Mando, but we've got another chance to see how he holds on to his promises, to see how much he loves everything related to Mandalor and being a mandalorian. Season three to me was not the show of bo-katan it was what it means to be The Mandalorian (to me the title is not tied to specific character but the idea.

I absolutely agree with you Gerald, the main character in a story does not have to be or become the ruler. I mean, even in the original trilogy, Luke and Han were heroes. But the did not lead the rebellion. They took orders from Admirals, from Mon Mothma and many others. This may be controversial, but I think much of the hate for Bo Katan’s own journey is nothing but old fashioned male insecurity. There is a segment of the vlogging “fandom” that just cannot cope any time Star Wars features strong female characters or diversity. I know they’ll say “no, it’s about badly written characters” but to be honest, that’s a very thin disguise for what is very clearly really going on.

To add to my thoughts… I loved the season. Din and Grogu were absolutely still the central characters and their growth together was great to watch. But I really liked how we got to expand our lens and see more of Mandalorian culture, and the journey back towards regrowth of that culture, with different characters playing important roles in that journey. Bo really deserves the leadership, having done so much over a long period of time to bring Mandalorians together.

I can see some issues with Season 3, but as a viewer that does like expanded universe stuff but that is a bit on the casual side, i personally enjoyed it. One BIG plus for me is that ever since Disney canon started; i haven't had a character that i really like and could really be attached to that i just genuinely adored, and i had found that, the character i was looking for ended up being Bo-katan. One of my favorite things about Bo is that she always seems to get back up and keeps fighting and no one can keep her down, but she's still feels like a person. So i don't get why people get upset and think "she's doomed to fail again because she failed in the past"- we can all grow from our failure and be better and stronger people. For me it just feels like there's this weird disparity with some fans that think every single portrayal of a character is the same or that characters don't change with time, which just isn't true. Do think the story should of been done differently to be more consistent and and have Din being sort of a background character but to me i got to finally see my favorite character grow and become pretty much the main character in a story, so that felt really nice and unlike anything i've really experienced before. i'm not saying season 3 is perfect by any means but i personally enjoyed it, but it's okay if the person reading this (if anyone does) thinks otherwise

Don't know either, but if i had to guess: on forehand we all like to watch people on YT talking about how a show could go, then the show didn't go as they had expected then frustration and their anger issues get the better of them. Like with Obi Wan at surtain points in the show they could have done a better job but i still liked it. The title The Mandalorian could be anybody who is a mandalorian and is about Mandalorians but to get insight in their culture the had to follow a mandalorian and his view/life within their culture. If din and grogu deside to go on an extended holiday they can choose to follow an other mandalorian its never boring to follow a mandalorian, action/shoot outs and fights is allways a surtanty with these people...

I enjoyed season 3 personally. Most hate that I’ve heard seems to revolve around it seeming disjointed, with many plot points that didn’t show their relevance until the finale. As for me, I was carefully caching every plot point I noticed (even the actually irrelevant ones). So I was slowly piecing together a rough, and perhaps blurry, picture of the finale.

Yes, I liked Season 3. I thought Season 1 & 2 was much stronger. Yet, I loved the storyline of Mando and Bo Katan. I didn’t mind Dr. Pershing’s side story and how he got set up. I liked the pirate story. I didn’t mind Jack Black and Christopher Lloyd. I was excited to see the Imperial Remanent Council and the references about Grand Admiral Thrawn. I do think the return of and final defeat of Moff Gideon played out too quickly, but it wasn’t enough to make me mad. Look, I thought Kenobi was sloppy and uneven. Still, I enjoyed it. I thought The Book of Boba Fett started off strong. I understand how the episodes focusing on Mando broke the storyline, but I liked those Mando episodes and it all got tied up in the end by bring all the pieces together to back up Boba Fett. I recognize the conclusion of Book of Boba Fett was weaker than the earlier episodes, but I still liked it . . . especially seeing live action Cad Bane. Get how fans get super disappointed or angry when high expectations are not met. Hell, I was really disappointed by Episodes 1 & 2 of the Prequels until both movies were rehabilitated by “The Clone Wars”. I still refuse to except any of the Disney Sequel films as Star Wars canon I dislike them so (I really like all the actors that were in those movies, it’s the writers, directors, and producers who were to blame). Still, beyond the Disney Sequels, I think fans need to stop letting “perfect” be the enemy of “good.” Take for instance the Han Solo movie , it wasn’t necessary, but it was an ok film with some good parts. I’d like to see more of Qi’ra and Black Sun boss Maul in the future, to be honest. I may also have a level of forgiveness for Star Wars missteps, because as a child of the Original Trilogy, I endured such Star Wars train wrecks like the Holiday Special and the made for TV Ewok adventure movies; ugh what stinkers!!!

Did I like season 3? Yes, I liked it and found it enjoyable to watch. However, I felt like it suffered from some pacing and story-telling issues particularly due to the cancellation of Rangers of the New Republic. Season 3 had to cover a lot of ground to setup the story moving forward and as such didn’t always give the story enough room to breathe and sit with the audience. Not that it needed to mimic the pacing of Andor (which I consider to be the bar setter for SW series), but rather somewhere in between. Why do I think season 3 didn’t resonate with some fans? For many of the same reasons that I stated in my previous answer, of which pacing was a big part. I also think some fans came into the series with a negative outlook because it wasn’t the story they were expecting or hoping for. Grogu’s reunion with Din in TBOBF felt rushed and as such cheapened the emotional ending of season 2 when Grogu and Din parted ways and Luke left with Grogu to train him. While according to Dave and Jon this may have been a 2 year period, it certainly didn’t feel that way in how the story played out between the two series. I also felt that it was rushed and suffered from too much time compression.

0:11 By popular demand, I put a poll out there 0:13 to see what you would all like to see 0:16 more of, and the Mandalorian content won 0:19 out so sticking true to the poll, here 0:22 you go. I expect that everyone will have 0:24 different opinions on this and that is 0:26 so awesome! One of the great things about 0:29 Star Wars is that it resonates with each 0:31 one of us differently so I'm going to 0:33 ask this question and I'd like to see as 0:35 many comments about it as I can even if 0:38 you feel like you've repeated what 0:39 others have said it's your opinion and 0:42 your opinion matters to me even if it 0:44 differs from my own. Actually, I have two 0:48 questions and the first is did you like 0:50 the Mandalorian season three? And 0:52 the second question is why do you think 0:55 we're seeing so much hate against it? 0:58 Of course, I'll give my own opinion, but that 1:00 shouldn't sway how you feel it's just an 1:03 opinion. Hello everyone I'm Gerald. Nope 1:06 not that Gerald! Ah, that's better! 1:10 Okay so for the first question, and at 1:12 the risk of some of you running away 1:14 screaming I'd liked the Mandalorian 1:17 season three. Like, I said that's just my 1:19 opinion. Hang on don't go anywhere yet 1:21 you have to hear my whole Spiel or Spiel 1:24 in German, before you condemn me to the 1:27 Kessel Maelstrom I did like the 1:30 Mandalorian season three! Yes, there were 1:32 some iffy moments in it, but it wasn't 1:35 enough to ruin the show for me. And I 1:37 have to admit Jack Black could have been 1:39 a lot worse but let's take away the fact 1:42 that Jack Black was even in it and just 1:45 look at him as a character. I don't know 1:47 put Arnold Schwarzenegger's face on him 1:49 or something if you have to. I want 1:52 peaceful California! Wait… Never mind. 1:55 Don't put Arnold Schwarzenegger on Jack 1:57 Black. For me the character Jack Black 1:59 was portraying actually showed the 2:01 beginning cracks in the new Republic 2:02 taking someone who was once an imperial 2:05 criminal and turning him so docile that 2:08 he didn't even see his Utopia being 2:10 actually ran by a sadistic Security 2:12 Chief shows a stark parallel to the way 2:15 the pacifists of Mandalore lost their 2:18 own control due to willing blindness. And 2:22 that may be the re-education tactics of 2:24 the new Republic worked a little too 2:26 well. I know a lot of people don't want 2:28 it, but it also shows how it was easy for 2:32 the first order to rise without much 2:34 resistance this was also evident in 2:37 these scenes showing how Dr. Pershing was 2:40 hooked up to that Weird mind-zapping 2:42 thingy. Then that crazy lady turned it up 2:45 to 11. And that brings me to my second 2:47 point a lot of people didn't like that 2:50 we were left wondering about Dr. Pershing. 2:52 This season didn't go back to him. Okay, 2:55 that's fair, but look how long it took us 2:58 to get the answer about the Zillow Beast 3:01 not all story arcs wrap up nicely in the 3:03 season they are introduced in. If they 3:06 did, we would have no real need for more 3:07 seasons. I actually feel like that one 3:10 was a nitpick set up by people looking 3:12 for something to get mad about and our 3:14 society is getting used to so many 3:16 social platforms moving away from 3:18 long-form videos because we're beginning 3:20 to have the attention spans of a bag of 3:23 pudding! Yep! I meant what I said! It seems 3:27 resolutions need to be made in the first 3:29 minute of an arc being introduced. I'm 3:32 sorry that isn't how stories are told, 3:34 but like I said that was probably just 3:36 someone stirring up, in order to 3:39 further their own narrative of the show. 3:40 But the biggest complaint I've heard is 3:43 that the Mandalorian season 3 moved away 3:44 from the story of Grogu and Din Djarin and 3:48 focused more on Bo Katan Kryze. And 3:51 that brings me to the second question. 3:52 Why do you think there's so much hate 3:54 for the Mandalorian season three and 3:57 again stick around I have a point to all 4:00 this. From other videos I've made, you 4:02 know when I predicted it would be either 4:04 Boba Fett or Bo Katan Kryze who would 4:07 become the Mandalore. A lot of Star Wars 4:09 fans freaked out over this! I got so 4:11 many comments as to how wrong I was; that 4:15 Din Djarin or Grogu would learn to 4:17 wield the Darksaber and be The Reluctant 4:19 Leader like King Arthur. My answer was no 4:22 Din Djarin is more of a Lancelot with the 4:25 shiny armor and do good attitude, and 4:28 grogu is a freaking toddler. But I was 4:31 called a lot of names. Oh, well. The point 4:33 is that *I was right!* Haha! I noticed they 4:37 didn't return to the comments, as they 4:39 said they would. Okay, enough of that crap. 4:42 But when Bo Katan actually became the 4:44 Mandalore the internet broke with hate 4:46 for the Mandalorian season three. There 4:48 are reasons I saw it happening. Though 4:50 even from season one, I couldn't see 4:52 Din Djarin as the leader of the Mandalorian 4:54 people. When he got the dark saber in 4:57 season two, I said the dark saber needed 4:59 to be destroyed. Not because Din Djarin 5:02 had it, but because of how divisive it 5:04 had been since The Clone Wars. it caused 5:07 more harm than good! But back to season 5:10 one of the Mandalorian… In the first 5:12 scene we see Din Djarin kicking ass. He 5:15 captures his prey and collects the 5:17 bounty. In the process, he kills a couple 5:19 thugs in a bar. Cool stuff! It hooks so 5:21 many of us into the show! I mean opening 5:24 a show with a western-themed bar fight!?! 5:26 Nice! And throughout season one, it's much 5:30 of the same. Danger and kicking ass; but a 5:33 lot of his victories were against lower 5:34 thugs. When he was faced with larger 5:36 adversaries with combat skills he would 5:39 come close to losing. Cara Dune got the 5:42 better of Din Djarin. Moff Gideon damn 5:44 near killed him, if not for IG-11. In fact 5:47 had IG-11 not been in the battle to 5:50 retrieve Baby Yoda, as he was known at 5:52 the time, against the Nicto he would have 5:55 surely lost that fight too! Yeah he was 5:58 outnumbered and outgunned. Then there is 6:01 the Jawa and the mud horn incident. The 6:04 Jawas made a joke of Din Djarin. If not 6:07 for the child, AKA Baby Yoda, AKA Grogu, 6:11 would have been killed by that Beast. 6:14 It's no doubt that Din Djarin is a badass 6:16 and skilled in his fighting style and 6:18 his weaponry but for his age he just 6:21 seemed to lack experience against larger 6:23 foes. Din Djarin had collected bounties on 6:26 lower thugs for most of his career. Prior 6:28 to meeting The Client in season two, 6:31 there are a couple cases where Din Djarin 6:33 is nearly defeated. And no this isn't a 6:35 Bash Fest against the Mandalorian Bounty 6:37 Hunter. I do have a point to all this. In 6:40 the Ice Caves, had the two New Republic 6:42 Pilots not shown up, Din Djarin and Grogu 6:45 would have been killed by giant spiders. 6:47 Then, when Din Djarin returns the Frog Lady 6:50 to her husband Din Djarin and Grogu are 6:52 nearly killed by the corps and fish 6:54 dudes on the High Sea if not for Bo Katan 6:57 Kryze and the Night Owls, the 6:59 Mandalorian series would have ended

7:01 there. But he did have some victories up 7:04 to this point. He, along with Cara Dune 7:06 the fish-face guy with the ink problem 7:09 and Dick Greef Karga took out an 7:11 imperial installation on Navarro. But at 7:14 the end of the season was Din Djarin’s 7:16 biggest Victory to date. He took on Moff 7:18 Gideon in single combat and won in turn 7:21 the Darksaber was his, but he didn't care 7:23 about the Darksaber nor did he care to 7:26 lead the Mandalorian people. He only 7:28 wanted his adoptive son back. Victory! But 7:32 then, we have The Book of Din Djarin, I mean 7:34 The Book of Luke Skywalker… I mean The 7:37 Book of Boba Fett!!! Some argue that he was 7:40 the best part of that show. The other 7:42 side of the argument is that Din Djarin 7:43 taking up two episodes halted the 7:45 development of Boba Fett, but in it 7:48 Din Djarin is back to his old ways. Yes, he 7:51 defeated the Klatoonian Butchers but he 7:54 damn near cut off his own leg with the 7:56 Darksaber in the process; showing he 7:58 didn't know how to wield it and couldn't 7:59 connect with it. Where the dark saber 8:02 would have likely been someone else's 8:03 primary weapon, Din Djarin used it as a 8:06 backup. When he returned to his covert, 8:08 The Children of the Watch he was told he 8:10 was a Mandalorian no more for removing 8:13 his helmet. If he cared to be the 8:15 leader of the Mandalorian people he 8:17 would have created an executive order 8:19 that Mandalorians would be allowed to 8:21 remove their helmet in certain 8:22 situations. Instead, he just says, okay, 8:26 showing this developing Mandalorian was 8:29 still a follower and didn't have a 8:31 Leader's tenacity. One could make 8:33 a strong case that a lot of the trials 8:35 Din Djarin either failed or came 8:37 close to failing was part of the hero's 8:39 Journey. But his mindset never changed. He 8:42 learned from his previous mistakes, but 8:44 he still had no interest in leading. He 8:47 only wanted to be a protective father. 8:48 But then comes the Mandalorian season 8:51 three… 8:52 DIn Djarin continues his quest to be 8:55 accepted by his group, The Children of 8:57 the watch. When traversing the mines of 8:59 Mandalore, he is beaten by a giant claw 9:02 machine and Bo Katan Kryze comes to his 9:05 rescue again, then giving him the out he 9:08 needed from the responsibility of the 9:10 Darksaber. He also gets beaten by Moff 9:12 Gideon in their second Face-Off this 9:15 time Gideon has better armor and is 9:16 better equipped to fight the Beskar- 9:18 wearing Mandalorian, and Bo Katan steps in 9:21 to save the day, yet again. This has been 9:23 happening since the Mandalorian season 9:25 two, but this focus on Bo Katan being the 9:28 rightful leader of the Mandalorian Clans 9:30 ruffled quite a few feathers in the Star 9:32 Wars fandom. Okay, that's putting it 9:34 mildly. Star Wars fans were freaking 9:36 outraged!!! How Dare the show turn into a 9:39 love parade for Bo Katan?? Never mind 9:42 the fact that she was a Mandalorian Royalty 9:44 and her family had been the leaders of 9:46 Mandalore for Generations. She, herself, 9:48 had even been the leader in the past. 9:50 This hero's journey was supposed to be 9:52 about this character we had never seen 9:54 Before. Not this hardened combat veteran 9:57 who helped free Mandalore from the likes 9:59 of Maul and again from the traitorous 10:01 Gar Saxon the one Mandalorian who 10:04 trusted a former Jedi and even became 10:06 her friend bringing in a new way of 10:08 thinking between Mandalorians and Light 10:11 Side Force users but the title of 10:13 the show is The Mandalorian this is supposed 10:16 to be about Din Djarin. Well, it still is. 10:19 Had it not been for Din Djarin, the 10:21 Mandalorian people would still be hiding 10:23 in caves in stinky sewers throughout the 10:26 Galaxy. A main character doesn't have to 10:28 become the leader in order to be about 10:30 that character. In fact, the case can be 10:33 made that if not for Din Djarin, the Clans 10:35 would have never come together at all !!! 10:37 The same Star Wars fans who are mad that 10:40 a bit of the focus shifted from Din Djarin 10:42 to Bo Katan Kryze are the same 10:44 ones who thought The Book of Grogu; I 10:46 mean The Book of Boba Fett was made 10:49 better when the focus shifted from Boba 10:51 Fett to Din Djarin, and that show was 10:53 titled with Boba Fett's name in it. The 10:56 Mandalorian as this show is titled is 11:00 ambiguous it isn't titled The Din Djarin 11:02 show. It isn’t titled the Book Bounty 11:04 Hunter Show it's titled The Mandalorian 11:07 and that could be any number of those or 11:11 even all of them. But be that as it may 11:14 the show is still about Din Djarin. So, I ask 11:18 again, why is there so much hate for the 11:20 Mandalorian season three? Because we 11:22 didn't get a resolution for Dr. 11:23 Pershing’s arc yet? Because it was Bo Katan 11:27 became the Mandalore? I think had Din Djarin 11:30 suffered his losses yet still 11:32 became the Mandalorian leader, there 11:34 would be a little issue. Or is it because 11:37 Jack Black and Lizzo were in the show 11:39 for about 10 minutes? Honestly, leave a 11:41 comment because I really don't get it. To 11:44 me, this entire season has been about Din 11:46 Djarin growing beyond being a lone 11:48 Bounty Hunter. He became a father and did 11:51 everything he could to protect his child 11:53 and that theme continued throughout the 11:55 Mandalorian season three. It was never 11:58 about Din Djarin leading the Mandalorian 12:00 people the fact that he helped Bo Katan 12:02 Kryze's return as the leader was but a 12:04 chapter in his story. Many chapters of 12:07 novels are not about the titular 12:09 character. I say again read any of the 12:12 thrawn novels. Sometimes there are 12:15 multiple chapters where Thrawn isn't 12:17 even mentioned but I go back to what I 12:20 was saying about instant gratification 12:22 and the attention span of our society. We 12:24 want resolutions now; not in future 12:27 seasons. Not even in the next episode… 12:29 most new Star Wars shows get hate before 12:32 the first episode even airs then 12:35 when the first episode does air the show 12:37 gets even more hate. The story of Din Djarin 12:40 The Mandalorian isn't over. only 24 12:43 chapters of it have ended. and we know 12:46 we're getting at least eight more 12:48 chapters and a movie. Again, let me know 12:51 what you think what are the reasons for 12:52 the hate for this season? I'd really like 12:55 to know thank you for hanging out with 12:57 me today. I personally loved this season, thought it was the best one. I prefer exploring the Mandalorians as a whole overall. As far as the hate goes, I think that every fan has an idea of how each character should develop and how their stories should unfold and be told and when that isn't what shows up on the screen, they become disappointed and angry. It's unavoidable.

I liked Mandalorian Season 3. It was more 'Mandalorians' than just The Mandalorian. The season was more about the Mandalorians being stronger together. In some respects the season was more an interlude showing the wider universe. My belief is the hate comes from all the people with expectations and maybe a sense of entitlement about what they wanted and were not happy when they built up expectations only to have the storytellers having their own vision. I found some of the expectations, hopes and theories interesting, others crazy or likely to undermine the story we got but I stuck with and enjoyed the story. I liked the resolution. I liked Doc Emmett there was a old school successionist. I liked there were no traitors among the Mandalorians and they came together and they freed their world without some outsider saving the day for them at the last moment. Maybe I would have done things different were I on the creative team but I'm not going to hold that against them. At present I try to avoid the negativity channels with their outrage and declarations of suckiness before a chance is given. I prefer the channels that are more positive, informative and fun. :)

I also had my thoughts of where the season would go. But when some of them didn't pan out I didn't freak out and say the show sucked. Instead, I just said, "okay, that was a direction I didn't think of." A lot of people wanted Luke Skywalker to save the day again. Well, he told Grogu to make a choice, and when Grogu made his choice both went on with their lives. I stopped watching a lot of the other channels because of how they act over just about anything new in Star Wars.

I'm somewhat done with the story of Din and Grogu just traveling around taking bounties. I think a very simple fix for this should have been, for Season 3, having a bit of a title change and adding an "S" to it. Call it "The Mandalorians" moving forward. It definitely was my least favorite season of the show, but I still liked it better than Obi Wan or the Book of Boba Fett. I didn't mind Jack Black and Rizzo. Season 3 felt like Din took a back seat to his own story. I've no issue with expanding the show to include the entire Mandalorian race, but I wish it would have progressed with more of a slow burn to end Season 3 with him bathing in the sacred waters and uncovering some of what really was going on with Mandalore. The tension wasn't left to build, and issues that could have been fascinating opportunities for character and culture exploration were resolved too quickly and easily.

Overall liked it but lots of things i didnt. Less about Din and Grogu, Mando too subservient to Bo Katan, not enough Grogu cuteness or heroism (a tiny bit but not enough) Amorer calls Din an apostate for taking off his helmet but practically encourages BoKatan to not wear hers (after Din convinces her to, and she started doing it?) No resolution or even mention of Moff Gideon's clone project (personally i dont think he really died, i think it was a clone of himself because...) Gideon's death too easy to be the arch villian. BoKatan is flat, has no personality (credit for calm leadership) After Luke and Ahsoka making appearances in S1 and 2, lacked any epic moments. The other Mandos dont seem to have a clue that Grogu is special/force sensitive, never gave an opportunity to show it off (besides the little contest with ragnar that no one was watching). And yes, after Mando took over 2 episodes of BOBF, it wouldve been nice to see Boba and Fennic at least once. But overall, agree that it wasnt great to see the show shift away from din and grogu to the boring Mandos, none of whom are slightly interesting.

Wasn’t Din Djarin also subservient to the armorer in the previous seasons?
@ThatLadyBird
@ThatLadyBird Жыл бұрын
@@STARWARS_FANATIC my impression was he considered armorer as a wise-woman/guide figure/keeper of the old ways...very different from, 'i will serve you Lady BoKatan' of S3. Just my take, but youre right, despite being a powerful fighter, he is kinda weak...kinda green and sheltered too, seems to be ignorant of a lot of things...the jedi, his own people, maybe even about how to be a father. But i think that journey of discovery is the point of the story. He isnt a leader, he isnt the hero, he's just a guy that loves a kid, trying to learn how to make it work and get by together. So on a meta scale, the show is brilliant in its subtlety (if my interpretation is right/close to it). But on a superficial, fan service level i do understand the disappointment people feel when they realize the lead characters arent actually the leaders.

It was a little jenky, but all in all I like the show so I’m ok with a little detour to get us back to the amazing story. There’s a bunch of stuff they needed to set up so that called for a little patience. Like Andor and it’s world building, it’ll take some time but that’s ok.

I loved season 3 and I don't understand why there was so much hate against it. I mean, people were hating it before it was even halfway through, at least get to the end to see if they pull it off or wrap it up, you know? There were some low spots and even some slow ones, but I know they were trying to build the bigger universe and it was going to be different from the other two seasons. I also think it didn't help that they had so much happen in the Book of Boba Fett... But I think most of the negativity comes from online. Negativity creates more clicks, because it causes a reaction. People use that stuff to try and build their channels up. I won't even watch a ton of Star Wars channels because of how much negativity there is.

I did not enjoy Mando season 3. I felt it was a major let down from seasons one and two. I felt that the resolution to the darksaber being in din's possession was underwhelming. I felt that some of the plots were very dumb (such as the episode where the mandalorian child gets taken by a monster in order to feed him to it's children, then decides not to until it is convinient to the plot). I'm not here simply to hate, but you asked for my honest opinion and this is it. I was watching Bad batch s2 at the same time as this series, and found that the episodes of that series outshined the Mando season 3 episodes that premiered the same day. As for why there is so much hate in the star wars community for this season? I think it is because the finale to season 2 was so incredible and moved the story in an interesting new direction, that some fans were disapointed when the show then backtracked on all the potential that was set up in order to do something else. Again it's great if you liked what they did with the plot, but I don't believe that most people are hating for the sake of hating, I just feel as though the show just failed to meet their expectations, and they don't know how to respectively share their own opinion.

Season 3 was by far the best season, finally about mandalorians, it was a ride from the second episode to the end (first episode was about nothing, but looking back i understand why it was there). About the hate, people are very shortsighted, when it comes to a disney show and they do not get, what they expect (especially nowadays), not to mentinon Bo Katan “ stealing“ the spotlight from Din, but i am glad for what we got. Actually it never crossed my mind, that Bo Katan is the main character, Din was just as important, as Bo Katan was.

Did I like season 3? Yes! Why is it getting hate? It's because of BoBF. It either needed to be completely separate or weaved into this season instead. It could have been weaved in... But then you shouldn't have a separate show named for a minor character with a cult following due to awesome books written about him over the years. They followed money, the show was disjointed and it spilled over into The Mandalorian season 3. People didn't finish BoBF, didn't see Din appear or expect it and so if you watch Mando season 2 and then season 3, it doesn't make sense. How'd baby Yoda get back, you'd ask? You find out you have to finish BoBF... And so the complaints. I watched it all and liked it, but I get that it was disjointed, meriting some level of criticism.

A lot of people seemed to have problems with especially Jack Black and Lizzo. Even with Christopher Lloyd in it. What the heck? First of all I didn’t recognise Jack Black at first glance and Lizzo was and still is completely unknown to me. Lloyd was the highlight for me - till the fight between Bo-Katan and Axe happened. I liked the third season overall. Not as much as the previous ones. Fans want control of the story...so their fanfic aka head canon interferes with what the Creative has done or rather, what the long range plans are. I think the haters of this season hate it because it didn't play out exactly has their own personal fan fiction. These are the same people who hated Boba Fett, because he wasn't a hard core bounty hunter. And that's what they wanted. Or hated the last Jedi, because Luke wasn't exactly who they wanted him to be. Instead, he was a human with human failings. OMG how could they make Luke human, he's supposed to be perfect. I personally love when a show or movie subverts expectations.

Why I love season 3 of Mandalorian? Because the season was great, had alot of story to progress the world building and canon story in a whole. The hate Im seeing against it? Well i believe many assumed their theories will come true. Or others think that the Mandalorian and the Mandoverse is a reboot instead of being part of canon. Others want to see the Mandoverse as a way to erase the sequel trilogy and not a tie-in. Lastly alot of those showing hate are perticularly from those that are fully indulged in the imaginary culture war that many ppl in this country are currently fighting. The anti-woke mentality that women and minorities cant be the lead hero drives their biasness. And lastly which one ive heard the most is that, many people only see the live-action stuff as canon and any other from other medias are just unrelated stories. Which is sad cause in alot of Ahsoka reaction videos i saw how many ppl didnt even react when they saw characters from Rebels and Clone Wars. These type of fans have and always will see the star wars universe in an incomplete fashion.

Mando season 3 wasn't good because Grogu wasn't supposed to be there, Gideon was a useless villain, Padro wasn't on set, nothing came of the Mithasaur, they destroyed the dark saber and Bo didn't even get the Saber correctly. It just wasn't a good show. I technically didn't even have the drive to finish the last two episodes all the way through. It's just more mid content from Lucas Film. We deserve better. Especially compared to the first two seasons.

It's the people that say it's a filler season or they should just end the series that I don't get. EVERY series on TV has it's seasons that are bad or clearly aren't as good. Almost every show ever. The people who bash mando because of a mediocre season also praise Clone Wars. Clone wars had some pretty bad episodes now and then. But the good ones outshine the bad. Same as The Mandalorian. Also people claim it's "woke' and just because Bo is a lead makes it a mary sue show. What star wars show or movie didnt have a main female character that did a lot? The OT bad Leia. PT had Padme. Sequels had Rey... though I'd understand the hate for her... CW had Ahsoka, one of the most beloved characters to date. Rebels had Hera and Sabine. BOBF had Fennic. Its nothing new and its just grasping for straws that aren't there.

Question 1.... I did like Mando 3. But I will admit it was the weakest of the 3 seasons.... Question 2..... season 1 was a grand slam. Everyone is looking for every season to be shocking, amazing, and mind blowing. I don't think star wars will ever drop a surprise bomb like the intro of baby yoda again. You just can't start at that level and keep going up. I think the firing of Gina Carano also screwed up their plans. I think the end of season 3 is setting up Din to fill a role that was going to be the rangers of the new republic.

Yes i liked Mando season 3 I think people hate on it because they are stupid and narrow minded. I think star wars has its back against the wall in a lot of ways. Take BOBF for example, people had 40 years to imagine how they thought Boba got out of the sarlacc pit. When we finally saw how he did it, and when it didnt happen the way someone imagined it happening, the 1000 times they acted itout playing with their toys over the years, the reaction was "wahh this isnt exactly what i wanted, so im going to say its bad forever" focussing on small details they didnt like, rather than appreciating it for what it is
