The day started off good with lots Pilchards around the boat ramp. I loaded up the live well and headed out St Lucie Inlet to the six mile reef. Unfortunately there was absolutely no current making the long leaders ineffective and the bait was not happening. I fortunately caught two nice Mahi Mahi on the flat line to start a solid box of fish. I decided to change technique to a chicken rig and fish the side of a wreck. I was able to catch Mangrove Snapper, Lane Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and a half dozen small Mutton Snapper. The current and wind picked up just enough at the end of the day to try the long leaders one last time. That did the trick and I finished off the day with a decent Mutton Snapper
