hey buddy! I had the same problem with the diffs in the kit version I built. I also came up with the solutions as you have before watching this video. I also put a small washer under the bevel drive gear, eventually it always pops off from the metal splines now.

went a different route, a single hole paper punch and matchbook cover punched out as shims. two to the inside, CA in place, one to the outside also CA'd. press bushings in tight, drill through the paper/card stock, pack with grease press the shaft+gear back together. the bushings are now about .070 further apart (less shaft wobble) with the bevel gears right into each other. if the bevel gears are TOO tight, make a paper gasket for the axle input to back the bevel gear up a tiny bit. definitely give this method a shot. if they'd used 3 x 6 x 2.5 mm plastic bushings instead of 2 mm thick, or put more distance between the pair of bushings, it'd been much better to start with. can do it with thin washers behind the bushings too, but card stock works good.

I'm really trying to avoid spending on all the metal goodies, after watching lots of videos telling about this issue, it makes sense. there are 3 x 6 x 2 and 3 x 6 x 2.5 mm ball bearings available, a pair of 2.5's might be about perfect for ditching shaft wobble/slop. these also have issues with plastic drive shafts throwing their + from U-joints, because the angles are so steep putting stress on them. dropping the trans down about 1/2" on some sheet metal takes a whole lot of kink out of them. sometimes I wish I could write or speak Chinese to "hey guys you need to make some minor changes!" lol.

model nutty I talk to a China men who knows the owner. I also sell their products on eBay. They see all the issues and are preparing a new release. Also if you get the metal gearset the pinion is solid to the driveshaft and the gear is bigger and taller. Much better gear mesh. And that doubles the axle weight which increases stability. I did a suspension lift for my son's c24 and a drivetrain drop with sheet metal. The angle is nice and smooth no binding now. Currently with 2.5 inch shocks but I have some 75mm or just under 3 inch shocks otw. And with the big monster truck tires. Also I have the metal gear single speed but it came with a weak 370 motor that gets hot fast. I just received a 35t dromida brushed motor for better crawling

My Kyosho Mini Z 4x4 rubicon been going through like hell, got another 6 sets on the way 😂 I'm starting to look for a machinist to machine a custom build gears and shaft but I'll give the washer a shot first

Thanks cuz I was thinking of getting one and putting my son's little dirt bikes in the back of it and making it like a cool little truck shelf Queen butts drive around the house or whatever. I have everything else. What would you suggest for a decent cheap ESC that can handle a small 2s lipo.

How do you find out if they have the metal gears or not .is it a v2 or have it marked on the box.or are all the kit version come with it now.

@@garettbodel3002 all of them are supposed to be coming with them now but there is no telling if you got old stock cuz they have to sell all the Originals first also they're supposed to be sending a different transmission it's supposed to be brown plastic not black that is the updated version

Thanks so much guys think I'll pick up the kit metal drive shafts in the axles in go from there. Basically just for cruising in the house in the sandbox. We can't stop coming back to look at it because had a Toyota back in the end of the 80s we used to jump it flipped it over a couple times man the truck was a goddamn blast so grab one

Love the vids on wpl c14, just got one, waiting for esc, remote and stuff, mine did come with the small brass gears but the main gears in the pumpkins are still plastic, and sense I dont have controller or anything, I just spin it by hand and noticed a lot of clicking coming from the axles, I used a small metal ring inside one to test it out and it makes the wheels lock up, I cannot spin by hand with small ring in pumpkin, so I took it out, should I wait for my parts then see what I need to do, or do I need to order metal parts right now? Because it takes forever for parts to come lol. Sorry for the long text

@@supastihl89 just an update, did full metal upgrade, did the shock upgrade, and strapped it down with some red tie rope lol, wanted to show you pics idk how, but I watched all you c14 vids, and came up with a great wpl c14 kit and has crazy flex, like, half a bottle of water high with 4 point contact still ;P

Yes its the original kit 3 wire servo. Actually impressive. Ive sunk it 10 times works great. Not a powerhouse but it works

They are factory upgraded by now. All metal gears. However I got a kit with metal pinion and plastic ring gear recently.

My diffs did not slip through, but after 2 minutes they were only dust ... The replacement diffs from my r tr version after another 2 minutes. The metal differentials are of course out of order 2 weeks AFTER ordering it. It's fun - 5 minutes driving - 2 months waiting - 5 minutes driving - 2 months waiting .. also my rtr version came with only 3 shock absorbers. for what I wish you banggood - I'm probably going to hell🖕
