@berlev6 жыл бұрын
He's not REALLY articulate, he articulates himself at an average level. Sam Harris, Michael Dyson, Jordan Peterson. Those guys are REALLY articulate. Is he a great teacher, definitely! But it's hard not to think that you might have very low bar for people of darker skin tones. Because there's no cause to even mention his way of articulating, he's a normal speaking dude. Maybe your bar is just generally low?

These wrestlers are so much bigger than muay thai and kickboxing dudes. If a wrestler takes you down it's like getting hit by a bus
@richardcopersroommate89286 жыл бұрын
Tim Boersma strength matters a lot in wrestling and grappling (especially the standup part). 99 percent of wrestlers lift weights.
@oreocarlton33436 жыл бұрын
Stoutier. Strikers are lankier.
@VivekRamanan876 жыл бұрын
Muay Thai fighters are smaller in comparison and heavyweights exist in kickboxing. Yes if, the wrestler takes you down it'll feel like getting hit by a bus but a well timed knee to the face from a Thai or kickboxer dude would knock the wrestler to oblivion.
@richardcopersroommate89286 жыл бұрын
Vivek Ramanan sure but the odds are in the wrestler s favor to just take you down and beat the shit out of you in side control. As soon as the wrestler gets ahold of the striker it’s over . Grapplers beat pure strikers 9 times out of 10
@VivekRamanan876 жыл бұрын
Agreed man. But a good takedown defense from the pure striker would be a nightmare for the wrestler( Conor against mendes). And a good striker would always know the distance management and would wreck the wrestler if his defense is shit.
@Richard-Espanol6 жыл бұрын

Khabib style please I've been begging it like forever
@tommymorrison1035 жыл бұрын
FIZZ TALES the only people that can teach you that technique are Khabib, Daniel Cormier, and Ben Askren, Ben Askren has pretty good wrestling vids on KZbin you could check out
@ascott74145 жыл бұрын
Big Daddy 49-0 Rocky Marciano how are those 3 the only person who can teach you that style of take down. Khabib literally has a sambo style where he shoots for the single leg but he doesn’t drive his takedowns he latches on to the leg in hopes of setting up another takedown. Plenty of tutorials online
@tommymorrison1035 жыл бұрын
Big Narstie plenty of tutorials online from people that have either never been in a real fight or had an unsuccessful career, why on earth would you take advice from some average joe when you could learn from the best wrestlers of all time, Khabib and Ben Askren are undefeated professional fighters and raining champions, the dudes on the internet making videos are not reliable sources of information on combat sports and they would get dismantled by Khabib or Ben Askren, you want to learn from the master not from some apprentice
@ascott74145 жыл бұрын
Big Daddy 49-0 Rocky Marciano if the “130 pound soy boys” techniques are correct and they provide guides similar to Khabibs takedowns then what’s the problem, the success of there career is irrelevant
@tommymorrison1035 жыл бұрын
Big Narstie still isn’t the same, and also no video is going to help you if you’re not actually wrestling, you could learn more from one day of actually doing it than watching 100 videos on youtube

I think this was an excellent explanation and example of takedowns from wrestling into mma. The only thing I would say is (and I’m not sure if this was just the angle of the camera) but when dude was taking his shots (just from the long distance) he was crossing his feet. Highly recommend against this as crossing your feet (and stepping around and crossing your feet) can make you unbalanced for those seconds that you’re doing - leaving you vulnerable whilst that’s happening. Just good practice for wrestling, and mma, to get out of that habit regardless of distance (again, might just be the camera angle but thought I would mention)

I'm a different story. I am an Orthodox when it comes to stand up, although when I wrestled a couple years in high school I would switch it up and have my right side forward and my right leg would be my lead leg, i was just more comfortable I never liked shooting with my left knee on the ground, and the carry over in striking is that I am orthodox, my left is my lead leg, but if I go for a double leg i transition my right foot forward.
@michaell.a79956 жыл бұрын
I am thinking of trying something new, which is quickly switching to Southpaw right before I attempt a takedown. I'd have to play around with it in shadowboxing to see how the movement feels
@thrasher20945 жыл бұрын
I could never shoot on my left side either. But its because I broke that foot so bad it doesn't bend the same and learned double legs too soon after it broke (started mma training 3 months after destroying a few joints in my left foot) to be able to shoot with my left side. It hurt training but toughened me up quick. The coach even asked if I should be there that soon after how bad I got fucked up (broken rib which stabbed my lung making it collapse and my collarbone broken) in a dirt bike crash. I didnt even feel the rib or lung my foot and collarbone hurt so bad
