I never like Triple H. But he really went all out to extend the olive branch. He pushed for Warrior to be inducted to the hall of fame, and knowing Warrior’s character, he tried his best to make sure Warrior didn’t had any confrontation with anyone, telling Terry to please stay away from him until the induction. But it’s all cool in the end. Hulk & Warrior finally made peace. Damn it, the book he gave Vince, it got me crying like a bitch.

You’re being harsh on that post-WM 12 Warrior return promo with Goldust. Probably the best Warrior promo ever. “I’ve got a full length movie for you-me kicking your ass from beginning to end!” I always wondered whether that Summerslam 91 dispute was done to cover up steroid issues with Warrior. Looking at videos from around that time, Warrior is getting noticeably smaller, and I don’t think it’s coincidental that Warrior, Hogan, and Savage all took breaks around that period, only to come back leaner. It’s all too convenient to me.

Do you believe Hellwig DID know a lot more than he was letting on in that final appearance as the Warrior in the ring that night? I believe people know when they're going to die, maybe not consciously, but something inside seems to make these people feel an urge to get their affairs in order, make peace where once there was none. My grandmother told me about how my grandfather wrote an extra passage in her birthday card the year he died. Every year he wrote the same words in the birthday cards, but that last year he wrote an extra passage. She remembered this and said it was as is somehow he knew... I believe Jim Hellwig may have somehow just knew, you know?.

So why didn't Jim go to WCW in 92? If The Ultimate Warrior went to WCW in 92 or 93 WCW would have put the WWF out of business. Warrior, Sting, Luger, Flair, Road Warriors, Hogan, Giant etc, when Hall and Nash came to WCW the WWE would have never been able to compete

Kevin Sullivan that was booking WCW at the time said Warrior came in so Hogan could get the win back. In his words he thought it was “Strange” about how Hogan was so set on getting that win back from Warrior. It’s Hogan so nothing surprises me when it comes to placating his giant ego. Remember, WCW booked Hogan almost identically to his 80’s run. They even brought Zeus in for Gods sake!

I was at the Nitro where Sting and Warrior took on Hogan and Hart. Not a great match, but it was so awesome to see the one and only time Sting and Warrior reunited. My biggest fantasy at this time was for them to reform the Blade Runners, even if they didn't use the name, just to give some much needed hype for Warrior, who was gradually losing the audience's attention as his storyline with Hogan was trainwreck after trainwreck. 98 was definitely one of the worst years for WCW as egos all around ruined some great potential storylines.

i think people still misunderstand jim's warrior gimmick. he said outlandish nonsensical things because his deal was that he was so jacked up that he had lost his mind. hearing him speak outside the ring and away from promos, you could tell his in-ring persona was seriously less intellectual than he was. the warrior was an incarnation of jim's spirit in the jim, ring, and life dialed up to 11, not his mentality.
4 жыл бұрын
The things he said in the ring were ahead of there time and one would need eyes to see and ears to hear to understand the Warrior's message and a dictionary would be needed for most of us, the fans, the Warrior was speaking spiritually from a high plan of knowledge. Some people just did not get it as life is spiritual and were trapped in this Carnal World, so some who are not spiritually gifted did not understand this message maybe, my opinion Ultimate Warrior is and was always the best, a awesome man.

When he said Scot Steiner I was more interested to see if his chest had started separating yet than anything else...and no at that point it had not.

Thanks now I understand why I wasted my time as a teen watching this. Warrior was somebody I knew but never watched until this comeback. It was a major disappointment. As a 8 year old is d he was awesome as a teenager the warrior is corny as hell.

Honestly, I thought the WCW Warrior promo was fine. I also can't find myself disagreeing with what he said about Hogan and HHH. Hogan's ego was out of control in WCW and held a lot of people back. He brought some good to the company and was a great heel, but Warrior being trotted out to make up for a Wrestlemania loss is a very Hogan thing to do.

@Ryanator the good matches he had were when he was carried by other wrestlers. Rick Rude helped him alot. Taught him how to work a match.

IMHO, it sounds like in 1991, Warrior was simply burnt out and needed time off. I think he and Vince simply should've handled it better instead of letting the relationship melt down. Granted he did come back some months later, but it was clear his steroid/HGH use was gonna get him eventually.

The first man to ever get a clean win in the middle of the ring against Hulk Hogan since Hogan joined the WWF. I was never a Warrior fan and him beating Hulk Hogan my favourite wrestler at the time (until 91 when Undertaker was my favourite and Undertaker unlike Hogan only dropped one place when Sone Cold Steve Austin became my favourite wrestler in 96) just cemented my dislike of of the Ultimate Warrior. And yeah I believe Hogan is that petty to bring the Warrior in to WCW just so he could get his win back and wouldn’t surprise me if Hogan wanted a 3rd match to “settle the score” just so he could have 2 wins to Warrior’s 1 win

I'll never understand why people were fans of this guy. He was terrible in the ring, had boring moves, and could only do rambling nonsensical promos with the mic. Every match with this dude is the same thing. He makes Kevin Nash look like a ring general. Squash wrestlers like him are terrible and make wrestling look like an even bigger joke than it is. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug though.

Warrior should have been fed Earthquake in his WWF title reign. They already teased the feud before WM 6.

💯 This. Earthquake should have been warriors opponent at Summerslam 90. Quake could of lost by warrior escaping the cage, that way quake could still have been booked to look strong without been pinned

The new intro and logo to the videos is great ! And my only comment on his title run is that it has been said he's hard to work with. Probably the reason why he had that run.

Man as a young kid turning on wrestling Saturday morning, nothing was more exciting than hearing the ultimate warrior theme music and seeing an amped up warrior run out like a mad man. Definitely was a huge hit in my house.

Back in 1998? I saw the Warrior at a high school show he came out into the audience after the match and was throwing chairs around. people ran away. my buddy and I stood there clapping and cheering. I put both hands up for a high 10. he interlocked with my hands shook my arms around and kinda gave me a little shove backwards. I played it up and fell backwards about 5' into the padded wall of the gymnasium and he gave me a WTF look, and then a little smirk and kept on throwing chairs. it made my year. I still think of it whenever I see or hear him.
