Austin worked in a warehouse while he was breaking into wrestling. He never forgot that forklift training lol
@BostonsF1nest
@BostonsF1nest 4 жыл бұрын
I always found the complexity of driving a forklift to be a bit overrated... there’s literally like 2 levers, a brake and a gas pedal. One lever goes up/down, the other curls the forks or extends them. Easier than driving a car imo
@chaosgreyblood
@chaosgreyblood 4 жыл бұрын
@@BostonsF1nest But because of using a heavy and slow vehicle on top of being able to get the fork alligned just right when picking up and carrying cargo, you can still screw up if you're not careful.

@@BostonsF1nest Yeah. I worked for a salt company for 6 years driving a regular propane forklift. It's easy. An hour training and you should be able to do everything on one inside a warehouse. When you have to go outside and unload flatbeds when there is snow and ice on the ground is different. But being there for 6 years and having dozens of people come through the doors through the years indeed anybody can run one.

God I remember being 8 years old, in Ireland, obsessed with wrestling like every young kid at the time. None of us were allowed get PPVs and I remember spending so long speculating about who hit steve austin. At that point it was so real to us, because we were 8. We all thought it was Triple H but maybe it was Taker or Kane! or Kurt! or Vince! and would argue endlessly every day about it until one of our friends came running into school one morning shouting IT WAS THE ROCKS BROTHER. This video brought all that nostalgia back. Like when they used to show PPV highlights on RAW but would do it with like full comms but only captures rather than video and wouldn't show much in the way of blood or weapon shots so we had to use our imagination a lot. So much fun, would love to have that sort of shared enthusiasm for something again - not just wrestling.

Random personal story: I was at wet n wild waterpark in Florida, year 2003, when I was queuing for a waterslide where you sit in pairs on large rings down a twisting slide. With my friend we noticed, about half way up the stairs, a tattoo on the calve of the guy in front of us who was with his kid. The tattoo read road Dogg Billy Gunn, new age outlaws forever on a scroll around a rather faded heart, I think. Looking up, we saw it was Billy Gunn. After following him down the slide on separate rings, we ran off to our parents in giddy fan-boy fashion and my dad went over to Billy after we pointed him out resting by the wave pool with his kid. My dad asked for a photo, he obliged and asked that we respect his privacy as he was on vacation with the family. Still have that photo in a frame in my bedside table. Billy was such a cool guy, in character, it felt like we were momentarily part of the script. 🤘 Cheers for that memory .

To this day, I can't believe the Rock didn't lose to Rikishi. He had the perfect excuse with the kayfabe injured ribs, he definitely shouldn't have kicked out of the sit down splash (He could have easily won a rematch later). Allow me to fill in some of the blanks for you, Zane: 1.Two weeks after Survivor Series, and one week before Armageddon, we would get two rematches at Rebellion 2000 in Sheffield, with Kane beating Jericho in "one fall to a finish" match, and Ivory once again retaining her gold against Lita. 2.Parts of Austin lifting up HHH in the car and then dropping him were taped the night before the PPV; this is made even more evident by HHH's voice sounding awfully clear and crisp, while Austin's sounded distant. 3.While this PPV wasn't great, it was still better than that year's edition of King of the Ring.

You're the best wrestling channel simply cause of the information you provide to whatever subject you are talking about. Even when you do old PPV reviews. Supplying context to the matchs really helps refresh the memory cause I dont remember all the old storylines. You and OSW are only ones who do that but yours is better cause you dont need 2 and half hours to break down a PPV and dont keep using the same inside jokes only the 3 hosts get. 17:55 I loved that moment, I remember being so surprised when the ref stopped counting during the pinfall too. Surprised Brian didn't mention it but Kurt Angle went on use his brother Eric as a decoy again years later in his match with Brock on SD! when he was the WWE Champion in 2003.

3:35 Man, I really forgot just how foggy it used to get sometimes in these arenas whenever a ppv or Raw/SmackDown would go on the air lol. There’s two things I miss about older wrestling shows, even though I’m sure they still do fireworks and all, that was only one part about it, and a lot of the times I liked wcw better, but I miss how there was always like a set, especially around the entrance that was revolved around the theme of the PPV. And the one thing I miss the most about shows, from the crowd aspect anyways was how everyone had actual cameras Back then and not phones and when someone would do something decently big you’d have 20,000 cameras flashing, especially during a big spot, and it always made the spot feel so much bigger. It was always amazing Imo. And also, idk how Test never got a real run and got a chance with the Heavyweight/WWE championship tbh. I really feel he would’ve been a perfect monster heel to have the belt tbh.

Man I love heel goodie oblivious Kurt and I love hearing him reflect in interviews about his evolution in terms of understanding the business. He just got it. Went from telling Vince "I can't lose" saying it's not believable cause I'm an Olympian and would legit beat everyone. But man he just got it and was able to pick it up faster than most guys do their entire careers in such a short amount of time. Understood that making yourself look bad doesn't damage you at all and in fact elevating your opponents is more important than anything - I mean all your opponents look weak than who cares? There needs to be a dynamic and he just got it.

That is one of the worst finishing moves I have seen in my life. Majority of peoples normal offense looks better than that finisher. I could believe a snap suplex beating someone over such a lazy looking Neck Breaker. Hell even a normal run of the mill Neck Breaker has more going on and looks better.

I think Austin vs. Rikishi should've happened at Survivor Series, one year after Austin was run down. Would've made sense. The HHH reveal could've happened after the match and then Austin and HHH wouldn't wrestle each other until No Way Out.

I actually went to this PPV. It was my first time going to a PPV event. Thanks for reviewing this. I went with my best friend, my Dad, and my Uncle who was a huge wrestling fan. To me this was the best time in WWE. I got to see Stone Cold, The Rock, The Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Kane, and Kurt Angle. One thing that I remember from it was just how loud the pyro was for both Kane and Jericho's entrances. Me and my buddy also had fun chanting "You Suck!" during Kurt Angle's theme. I had such a great time!

24:20 HHH actually went to Hallmark but they were all out of, 'I Regret the Car thing with you' Appology cards. It's too bad because it was one of those cool pop-up cards. HHH should have known. November is the month with the most, 'Attempted Vehicle Homicides.' It has to do with Thanksgiving and all the families fighting. That's why the 'Butterball Turkey's help line, now connects you with the police, directly! Good PPV though. I bought it on VHS and the car crushing was fun. But I'd rather watch Hogan & The Giant pushing in their monster trucks! Lol Deep Cut for the older fans! ;) ....and pushin' and pushin' and pushin'. Anyone have a guitar? ....and Pushing & pushing & pushing. Lol

@@ChrisHominski if you watched old wrestling they put over other guys in there promo like. So it felt more real because they were aware Dusty was gonna face Flair or Hogan and the bossman had a cage match. Now guys focus only on their story line so when this event come it doesn't fit well.

@wisewolftony
@wisewolftony 5 жыл бұрын
@@leetheleo9602 Also another big issue is almost everyone is booked pretty much 50/50 and they also have no long terms plans for really anybody. Like look at Kevin Owens he returns from injury is one of the hottest Babyfaces on the roster. Yet all because DB is gonna be out hurt for a few weeks. They decide to panic and just turn Owens heel. Then he losses his first match after turning against Kofi. And since then he has yet to pick up one single win. You can't have a guy return from injury turn him heel and then just have him lose all the fucking time. As what was the point of turning him heel in the first place. Heels a lot more than babyfaces lose all credibility when they lose all the time. Because a Heel MO is to talk shit and say how great they are. Yet now any babyface he's cutting a promo against can just cut him off and say no you lose you lose all the time. And its the same up and down the roster. Cesaro beats Ricochet only for then Ricochet to beat him the next week. Andrade beats Balor and then Balor beats Andrade in a title match. But wait Andrade beats him again getting another title match but Balor then wins that.
