The price of Wright 2.0 wrenches is well worth it. The price is extremely fair for a USA made wrench of excellent quality. I actually replaced my Snap-On Flank Drives with the Wright's. They're so much more comfortable in the hand IMO. The only gripe some guys have with the 2.0's is their length. Shorter than the standard tool truck wrench which to me is the reason I replaced the Flank Drives with them. The machinery I work on can have some pretty tight spots. A shorter length wrench comes in clutch at times. I'd say they're right in between a Craftsman raised panel and a Snap-On standard-length wrench which to me is perfection.

Wright Tools are considered the Best industrial tool line offered in the USA. Snap-on & MAC are known in the Automotive industry. I like all 3 brands, but for the price, then I would choose Wright everyday. Weight builds Large industrial tools also.
@gtcam7232 ай бұрын
It’s interesting because where I’m at, we rarely have Wright. But, we have Proto and Snap On all over the place. And we’re a fairly large company.
@scottaddison80712 ай бұрын
@ you should see the design difference in the big Wright Wrenches vs other brands, their quality is impressive. The smaller Weight wrenches 6-19 mm are shorter than the competition and I prefer the Longer MAC & Snap-on for that reason only. The only quality issue I’ve seen with Wright is some Chrome flaking as reported by other people in tool reviews. None of my Wright wrenches have flaked

I will have a set of those one day. I'm currently filling in all the blank spots in my tool collection from theft 7 years or so ago. I'll be 48 in January, so it's been a little tough and slow going, but I'll get back to where I was. Or, as close as I can get anyway. Wright is a great American tool company and has been for a very long time.

They are one of those sets that are absolutely worth it. I should add a set - not that I need them. I bet you’re keeping those! Wright has long been a professional tool brand. Very good tools, but not the very best. They were once very popular in the industrial market. They have not commanded the high secondary market price that Snap-on still brings, making them a viable option for value buyers when shopping used tools. I don't own a lot of Wright. Mine were all puchased used, so are now quite old. The fit and finish compared to top-tier tools is disappointing, but mine are durable. Jeff is showing us current Wright product. It is nice to see that they are still a viable brand. Compare things like wrench length, slim design and finish to top-tier brands before purchasing. I value slim design, easy to wipe clean, strength, fastener protection and leverage length. This has kept me loyal to Snap-on. I own full sets of MAC and Proto that don't match the features in my Snap-on sets. These mostly just take up drawer space, even though are still very viable professional brands.

That's an awesone looking set, don't have any Wright wrenches in my collection, only a couple Wright round head ratchets. Those are some of the strongest feeling ratchets i have (36 tooth i believe) and heavy as crap. They have a sub brand called Cougar Pro that is very economical and seem very sturdy also. Would love to have a set of these wrenches, but weighing the price versus what i currently have and the amount of use i put on them, i cant see making that call right now.
@jefftovani55352 ай бұрын
Hi doug thanks for joining in!! i always wondered about that brand,Couger Pro!! where can you buy them?
@douglasmiles12152 ай бұрын
@jefftovani5535 I got mine on ebay. I get prolly 80% of my ratchets on ebay. Prolly the last 50 ratchets I bought on ebay, has been of the vintage variety. Ebay loves to use "vintage" in describing old used tools. It's definitely a gamble on the quality and functionality you get. The last one I got was a 1/2" williams superwrench. But, it's really rough on back drag, and then a craftsman 3/8" "v" long flexhead (to complete a collection) was all bound up and grippy in one direction and fair in v the other. I opened it up and it was like varnish inside. I don't know what was in it, but damn. I opened up one of my original one in same size and it was identical. After a good cleaning and scrubbing, and added some lube. They run so good now, night n day. Got a used, new style Proto pear head 90 tooth 1/2" 10". I really like this ratchet, super beefy and smooth as butter for 1/2" ratchet. But it was dry as a bone . It has a very unique gasket on the plate. It has holes in the plate around the edge and a fixed silicone bead around the edge, along the line of holes that helps it stay affixed and the strongest circlip I've took out of a ratchet. Super, super durable ratchet. You should get one, it's a beast.

Miles better than any of the other import Taiwan or junk Chinese sets you've shown. It's nice to see something that actually performs well rather than just "it gets the job done". "Save your money" if you can't afford them yet is some of the best advice you've given on the channel.
@ShawnC80302 ай бұрын
Jeff has stated many times he shows low end, mid, and some high end tools. His channel shows options and a opinion. Some people don't care and want a cheap illiterate gets the job done" tool. Especially somone who doesn't use them alot. As I wind down in a 30 plus year career I find myself selling off alot of my high end tools I don't use anymore. Wright makes the best wrenches and i.pacts there is in my opinion. But I also have tekton, capri, olsa, astro, rbrt/grip edge. All really good taiwan stuff. They get the job done and thats what matters. When I go to retire I will sell all of my tools except what gets the job done at home for my hobbies and person car care use.

Have both a metric and SAE wrench set plus 1/2 inch socket sets for both. The Wright quality control is lacking especially compared to SnapOn or even TEKTON. It’s almost like they are hand forging the tools as opposed to a machined assembly line. All of the tools are well designed, have heft and are extra thick. But some of the wrench’s have a extra bend in the middle, the chrome finish was meh which leftover slag still on the wrenches when chromed and 3 wrenches with chipped chrome near the box end, a breaker bar had a twisted handle, and all locking ball detents in the ratchets/extensions/breaker bar had oiled in order for the ball to release. Overall I’m not 100% on the Wright Tool vibe, especially when considering the price. TEKTON has an even better warranty for 1/3 the price and their sockets looked near pristine.

Like the Proto wrenches, Wright Tool make good wrenches; however it's just a traditional old design. Nothing special about any of these type combination wrenches including Icon or Snap-on. The Stahlwille Open Box 14 series are very good, and the new designed Mac Tools Precision Torque combination wrenches are an excellent new design. If you buy any of the other wrench designs like Icon Wright Snap-on or Proto, compared to the Stahlwille 14 or Mac Precision Torque, the old traditional design is just some old bullshit. Nothing even comes close to Stahlwille or Mac Tools Precision Torque.
