This is understandable considering eyewitness testimony is notoriously shaky. If you have ever been the victim of a crime, you'll understand the dynamic of your mind not hitting the "record" button like you think it would. Some are better at detail retrieval than others. That's why sketches are simply that - sketches. They aren't posed portraits. Trying to match a suspect to a sketch artist's rendering is truly a fool's errand. That said, one thing the five eyewitnesses (3 teen girls that saw BG, the lady that saw BG on the trail, near the bridge and the passerby) all agree on is that the man they saw is the man pictured in the single frame image released to the public on February 17th, 2017. And of course, the best eyewitness of all is Liberty German's iPhone 6s.

First, if you zoom the picture take by Libby anyone can clearly see its the face of Richard Allen. Second, he confessed the killings. The prosecution presented the letter that Richard Allen wrote confessing to them. "I'm ready to officially confess for killing Abby and Libby, he wrote. "I hope I have the opportunity to tell the families I'm sorry", Richard Allen concluded. Third, the unspent bullet found below one of the girls, marked the gun of Richard Allen.

He also confessed to killing his own family and his nonexistent grandchildren so there’s a credibility issue. Matching a bullet cartridge to a particular gun is junk science, unreliable. The Snapchat photo is grainy and unclear, so you can’t clearly see its RA. It’s reasonable doubt thus far. It’s odd that the state is seemingly burying their best evidence: the confession that contains information that only the killer would know. Many killers insert themselves into the investigation. That Allen did the same does not make him look innocent. The state's point on the identifications is that all of the witnesses said that Bridge Guy is the guy that they saw. That each of them saw bridge guy differently is human nature. No one would have taken that much notice of him when they first saw him. Only later would they try to turn their memories into a description for their own minds and for the police. That they saw Bridge Guy differently doesn't help the prosecution, but it doesn't help the defense that much. The defense lawyers have created a antagonistic situation with law enforcement. They allowed crime scene photos to be leaked to the public. They are advancing this ridiculous idea of Odinism among law enforcement officers and law enforcement officers covering up a double murder to cover for fellow Odinists. If I were a juror, I wouldn't see antagonism between law enforcement officers and this particular defense team as a bad mark on the prosecution. I don't think that the defense is precluded from presenting evidence that someone else committed the crime. I think that the defense is precluded from promoting kooky theories about the evidence that is available. In other words, the defense cannot haul every corrections officer with a Nordic tattoo into court and accuse that officer of being part of an Odin cult. On the other hand, the defense would be able to present a picture showing two guys that day at the trails wearing the same clothing. That would be evidence that maybe they got the wrong guy dressed that way. If the defense had surveillance video of someone getting out of a black car an hour up the highway and that guy were dressed like Bridge Guy and had blood on his clothes, the defense could present that evidence. The problem for the defense is that no evidence pointing away from Allen exists. That the jurors are asking pointed questions of the prosecution doesn't make me believe that they have doubts. While I lean very strongly towards believing that Allen is guilty, I'd want to be able to establish exactly how I came to my own conclusions if I were a juror. Clearly, the investigators made a mistake in not talking to Allen again after he spoke to the conservation officer. If he weren't guilty, he'd still be an important witness. They should have been talking to him a week later, two weeks later, and throughout the months of the investigation in order to try to get any additional memories that he might have of that day. If they had pursued his memories that way, they likely would have realized in the early days that he had to be a suspect. His being where he claimed to be but not seeing the victims doesn't make sense. At some point, they would have realize that he was lying, and at that point, he would be a stronger suspect.

I'm not seeing the state proving his guilt so far. I can't tell he's guilty yet (I've not followed this case. I stayed clear of it until the trial). The defense seems to provide doubt so far. Reasonable doubt, from what I'm hearing

25 guns is meaningless. The same kind of bullet is meaningless, The photo of the bridge from 12 years prior to the murders is meaningless (it’s a local landmark). Man this case is really falling apart fast.
@rushing2travel3512 сағат бұрын
RA could have contacted the police for this very reason. He saw his pic from the video, thought he might be recognized, and wanted to head off any suspicion that it might be him. “If” the bullet does match his gun, he has a big problem. There is a good possibility it’s him!
@JL-zn7me2 сағат бұрын
I didn’t watch opening statements. Does anyone know if the prosecutor ever said anything along the lines of “you will hear how RA’s DNA is on this” or “you will hear how Libby and Abby’s DNA was found on a item at RA home”? In addition, why is the hair in Abby’s hand being ignored?!!?

Libby photographed Abby at the platform at 2:13 p.m., Allen was seen walking along the road "about" 4 pm. But Derrick, Libby's dad, would have been calling her for pickup about 3:30 pm. Allen may have been trying to cover up their bodies when he heard Derrick yelling for them. But Allen said he was there from 1:30-3:30. I believe yelling from above would have been caught in the area that Richard Allen was in, startling him into leaving before he was finished. Allen probably used their clothes to clean his hands or sexually gratify himself. Then he placed the clothes in Deer Creek to clean them of DNA. So I think the girls would have been dead before 3:30 pm, and Richard Allen would be gone.... otherwise, he might have heard Libby's cell phone ring when Derrick began calling at 3:30. Unless Libby had turned the ringer down. The woman said she saw him about 4:00 p.m. Allen was probably putting the clothes in Deer Creek when Libby's phone would have begun ringing. From the creek, he either returned to his vehicle (where Sarah would have seen him heading?) or did he head into the woods to walk home and clean up, then return for his vehicle. Because I think Libby was targeted, the cuts could have been for his pleasure. Like BTK, hanging Josie Otero, who got off torturing her. Richard Allen probably used that neck covering to control Abby since they found some mark's along her face. Probably right after he said down the hill he got Abby, they slid down the hill and she lost a shoe. That may be why she had an injury to her foot. If you've ever tried to walk in the woods barefoot, sometimes you can step on a stob. No wonder Abby was dirty underneath since it seems he made them undress when they got to the ravine. Ĥe may have had a cache located, but I don't think so. I think he was carrying everything on him. You know if he was taking on two teenagers, he had been thinking about it for a long time and his urges overrode anything else.

I have watched many others following this trial and RA SAID HE COULD HAVE TAKEN THAT DIRECTION TO THE TRAIL AND ITS IN THE TESTIMONY PAGE 37 I believe. So no points for the defense for this question. Never was it said there was any witnesses were heated

Very often, a predator returns to the crime scene to anonymous 'get attention' ...they also return for updates and they watch the news to collect updates. It's not uncommon for the killer to return to his crime scene. For him to report himself kinda goes along those lines. This is one of the pdices of this horrible crime that makes me lean towards his guilt. Another piece of this crime that makes me question his innocence is the tires kn his car. His rims (I think they said rims but idk for sure) are see thru. Witnesses say they saw his kind of car close to the scene and they specifically remembered his clear rims. Someone reported seeing his see thru rims or tires. Nobody else in that state (I'm exaggerating lol) has those rims!!
