I don’t know many people who play it, but Rayman Legends Definitive Edition is a great platformer for the Nintendo Switch. It has a cutesy art style and is very fun. I have it and do not regret the purchase. You should definitely check it out!

@@ethaan3164 dont get a joy con charging stand until you start buying more multiplayer party games and thus more joy cons (as the joy con's charge while connected to the switch in the Dock) . Pro controller isn't really necessary and see if you need one later on, as you might end up playing hand held mode more

If you are a reddit user go to r/Nintendoswitchdeals (mainly US orientated) and you can find stores that are selling switches cheap and pro controllers that go down to like $20 and sometimes cheaper.

This might get buried and I'm probably being waaaay to sentimental and philosophical, but the fact we can have games that look like Doom or Farcry 5 but still release contemporary 2D 16 bit sidescrollers shows a lot about our culture. None of that "gamer society" cringe shit, I'm just saying it's like we're in a golden age of sorts when something that's as objectively ugly and slow paced (hard truth) as a 16 bit sidescroller is still selling not for nostalgic reasons (Celeste) but because we can still find value in such a relatively primitive art style. The very fact we have the ability to switch back and forth from these visuals and find great stories in both categories is just amazing.

16-bit era was the height of gaming and it's timeless. It was all about gameplay back then (mostly) because almost everything was a sidescroller so they had to make the gameplay different.

Bad graphics are not old graphics. Celeste looks amazing and so does stuff like Super Mario World. Bad graphics are graphics that do not serve the game and gameplay. Games with graphics like Odyssey or BoTW are incredible looking, but that doesn't make them better than games like Super Mario World or Celeste or Hyper Light Drifter, etc... . Look at something like Detroit Become Human; excellent visuals and audio but... what little game is even there is kinda fucking garbage. If Detroit Become Human looked like a ps2 game no one would like it. I will always play Super Mario World over DBH any day, but things like DOOM Eternal, Uncharted 4, and Metro Exodus are great too. Good graphics are graphics that serve the gameplay to make it more *fun,* interesting, and/or amazing. In my opinion something like Hyper Light Drifter is of equal graphical quality to BoTW. Hyper Light Drifter is a top down game that I can run on my ancient ass piece of shit Dell Workstation computer, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Celeste is not an _objectively_ worse looking game than DOOM(2016) or FarCry 5, it's just _different,_ and that's perfectly fine. TDLR: old/pixel style game still look good. just different from mega HD game.

Not really..? Both trainers select moves at the same time.... after selecting moves they are “activated” by the Pokémon in an order depending on their speed and other factors, so like.... it’s only *kind of* turn based

Sword and Shield was slightly disappointing as someone whose favourite game before I got my switch was Ultra Sun. I am really hoping the dlc gives it a proper post game, then I will be willing to forgive the iffy graphics and story as Pokemon was never known for great graphics or story. I would love it so much if Pokemon was more open world, had better graphics and utilised the switch's power better. It feels at times we are making excuses for pokemon just because it was what we grew up with, like "oh, that's just Pokemon, of course it doesn't look good or have normal dialogue or good characters that you would care about".

Here's my personal list of what to get, not in any kind of order: Hollow Knight Cuphead Mario Kart 8 Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Splatoon 2 Minecraft (pretty sure it's on the Switch) Stardew Valley Super Smash Bros. Ultimate A Hat In Time (pretty sure it's on the Switch) Undertale/Deltarune (Deltarune is free!) Super Mario Odyssey Just a little headstart of games that I personally like if you want to/are getting a Switch.

I just got my switch and mario main title. This console is gonna make me broke. Its my first nintendo console since the 64. I've had all their handhelds but this switch was calling my name.

I never bought Gamecube, Wii, or WiiU because they seemed to be built around a gimmick, but with the Switch the gimmick works! Breath of the Wild has become my favorite game of all time.

LinkToo The Gamecube was shaped like a lunchbox and used mini disks which couldn't hold as much data. It consistantly had substandard ports from third party because it was the weakest console that gen.

I personally wouldnt get both of the pokemon games unless you really like them. Most of the time 2 pokemon games are released at a time and they are almost identical with a few changes to the story but I'd get one and if you really like it then get the other one.

get a friend to get the lets go pikachu while u get lets go eevee. you can then trade edition exclusive pokemon with your friend so its easier to fill the pokedex.
