I work at a vintage toy store, but we have kid ready toys as well as collectibles. I take pride in being part of one of the relatively few toy stores to exist. My area has none other than just the one.

My guess to why Toys R Us went away for a while until the stores reopened, it's mostly what you said, online shopping is very accessible and the business wasn't adapting to changing times fast enough. People love the convivence of ordering something online and have it delivered to the home address in a few days. I would add most of the time many kids spend time on the screens. It's very easy to get toys in other retail stores like Target, Walmart, etc. All of these things combined are why they're only in select few locations now. I've been to the Toys R Us before and it's a fun trip every time. Nowadays I just see the Toys R Us small toys section in Macy's.

the roseville mi location was my childhood location and yes, the parking lot was….something. it shares the same big parking lot as a bar, where there have been multiple shootings.

I have the discontinued version of the Disney Lego Castle, it took me three years to save up for but it was worth it (My cat broke it a few years ago and I can’t put it back together, it makes me cry because I spent WEEKS building that thing, and I was going to save up for the new version but it kinda looks ugly. The old one is way better, in my opinion)
