The amount of work it took to place those giant rocks all around a structure had to be enormous. I'm glad it wasn't me that had to do it. But that room with wood panels probably looked beautiful. Love these installations. Thanks HH and EE 😊

Thank you EE for finding this amazing location. The effort involved in placing those massive rocks around all those bunkers is just mind numbing. They certainly intended to have full protection on that island. I love the fact that the locals are fully into having the island open, to everyone, and look after it accordingly, without going overboard on the safety aspect. It's places like these that help spark the interest in the future generations of History Hunters and Eagle Eyes! And just love the fact that you guys found those ceramics, that's been laying there all this time. That was an incredible find. Theodor Paetsch started making ceramic stoneware back in the 1840's near Frankfurt, and specialised in making quality, affordable, kitchenware, so it's not surprising some of it ended up with the troops on the island. Cannot wait to see what Part 2 brings us, from this very special location. Cheers to you both! And thank you for sharing!

A stunning location!!! Great research work EE and resulted in some much history you could touch. The camouflaged structures in the terrain looked just like rock outcrops in the mountains side - typical excellence from the German engineers. Fantastic to be able to explore freely on the island. It seems EE is a great historian and researcher, as all of the locations he's found have been absolutely incredible. This one is a real corker, as they say, with a full installation still pretty much intact. I'm not quite finished the video, but I did want to note before I forgot, that I did see a number painted on the wall of one of the bunkers. It is number 16, in the one which has all of the iron doors intact (an amazing thing to see in itself). I did want to say that the wood paneled bunker is fantastic, and even still has shelves and the metal sheeting for the bunker oven. This gives us a means of seeing what the room looked like during the war, which is both rare and fascinating for me. Thanks again, and all the best to you and EE 🙂

Oh my gravy!!! The amount of work to construct those "rock/bolder" bunkers just blew my mind away. The thickness of some of them, HOLY TOLEDO!!! I still can't get over that.....wow.. To have the original doors and the wood in some of those bunkers is nice to see, as well. Glad the locals haven't destroyed or defaced them. Did you happen to find a complete "plate". It was awesome to see that dish dump; original time era of the Germans???? SOOOOO looking forward to seeing part 2. Definitely love this island!!! Until then, my friend...

I get excited seeing things that many people think nothing about. Before you mention it I said the switching station for the narrow gauge rail road is still there. Just watching your videos has my eyes actively searching the screen trying to take as much in as I can. So happy that the people in this area are allowing others to see and explore the history that is there. It’s so interesting to see what it took to build these locations and to see how well many of them have survived.

It is wonderful that this German WW2 historical site is kept up and open to the public. Thank you EE for researching this area and bringing us there. The idea of windows painted on the huge ammo bunker was ingenious. The mess hall bunker was well laid out. The German soldiers would have been well fed there. Fresh sauerkraut, meat, and potatoes 😋. Bunkers were well camouflaged using the surrounding environmental resources. Did you happen to find all of the pieces for a complete Frankfurt proclain plate? Very interesting place . Looking forward to part 2. Oh, and EE don't go stepping on your Dad's hand as he needs both for future explores. ❤

Hello History Hunter and Eagle Eyes , really enjoyed this video and as you know all your videos ... Rail was used for so much in our history, what I thought was amazing was from the ammunition bunker to where they needed to take the rail up such a steep hill. This must have been very important for them to often risk so much .. I can't wait to see where they are going with the tracks and look forward to seeing the next part. Glad the locals take care of the place and allow people to visit it. That must have taken a lot of work to build those structures with all those large rocks. Shame at some point in time they set fire to the inside of that one bunker. Would've loved to have seen what it looked like originally before the fire. Loved the ammunition storage building and the rail system that they used to move the ammunition. Great find Eagle Eyes and I'll be looking forward to part 2.

Never ceases to amaze me how hard work went into concealing these bunkers, unlike Normandy where they just built them and they sit there. Very very nice location. I can understand what you meant by touching things. Someone touched that bucket 75 years ago. If I lived over there I'd love to walk into the history of all this. It's the feeling you would get that many don't understand.

So much to see at that WW2 historical site. The locals there seem to have gone to great measures to preserve. Amazing that it is open to the schools and all of the public to see. Right your are HH, you touched yet another piece of history when touching the metal water bucket once carried by a young German soldier. It is sad that the wall in which the German soldier had written a poem with his K98, was removed at another place you explored. I was hoping that maybe they took it to a war museum or to someone who would cherish it. The enamel wash bin was cool. I hope you were able to find all the pieces for the Luftwaffe porelain plate. Thank you so much, EE for all your hard work in organizing this for us. Much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing the gun positions and tunnel system in P 2. 💕
