I legit have the exact same memory only it wasn’t my step mom it was my actual mom, and we didn’t have pizza we had macaroni @ 5pm as we have every Sunday since I was born 28 years ago lol. But it’s one of the very few times that I can remember all seven of us, sitting down and watching wrestling together. X7 was another. My dad fell out of wrestling right after my last sister was born in December of 00. I’d say probably right when the invasion started, that was when I started watching alone in my room. And my mom only watched Bc it was what we put on in the living room. So this was one of the last times my dad and I ever watched a show together. You’re right, very nice memories attached to this show. Hope all is well brother ❤️

@stevenray92296 жыл бұрын
they don't mean the hands up as a negative. they were trying to find out if he tried to protect his head, even though there wasn't much protecting it when there was so much happening at once. Throwing up the hands are usually how they protected themselves and nobody really wants to see people get hurt when it's stuff like that. If you want to see the brutality of not having your hands, check out the rock vs mankind when Mankind had his hands cuffed behind his back and took repeated chair shots without being able to protect himself. sorry to post on something that's a year old

You are right as in that’s what you’d do in a shoot fight But on the other hand Kane’s knee bumps on every move is what you would do too. You’d try to break your fall instead of landing flush The problem with both of these is it’s not aesthetically pleasing in a wrestling match, so it’s frowned upon

@benzo90592 жыл бұрын
Always surprised when people say stuff like this, the Vince/Shane storyline was entertaining, multi-layered and had a great payoff. Hogan apart from his heel run was unbearable because the same thing just happened over and over again. On the other hand I don't remember any other father/son WM matches or a wife being drugged and becoming a zombie or an affair between the owner and one of his employees, who's also feuding with his daughter, let alone all in one storyline with the Mick Foley factor thrown in too, it was at least unique even if it was overkill or not everyone's cup of tea. Always found the McMahon's one of the best parts of the show, Vince is one of the best heels and talkers ever, Shane was ultra over as a face and hated as a heel, Stephanie while annoying was a great heel around this time, plus whenever she was around it meant Triple H or Kurt Angle would be too and they were both ridiculously great at this time, and last but not least zombie Linda was glorious.

I agree. needs to happen. Have they done an episode for mike Foley and the rest of his characters?
@steve_en59034 жыл бұрын
They wouldn't though because the Kane xpac team was over as FUCK and the segment where Kane turns on taker and joins xpac is one of the best pops and moments of 99 it wasn't until they broke up that xpac heat started

A lot of the view counts are messed up because of YT taking them down and Jay putting them on vimeo instead of YT or handfuls of videos on different accounts incase they got deleted.

I know the chair shots look horrible but I think just taking a million bumps where you fly back and take a flat back bump is way worse on your brain.

I have read her book. She definitely had a tough childhood and just spiraled after leaving the WWE. Obviously it leads to no self control, further spiraling and then her death.

Brock and Angle had a wrestling brawl off cam, and Angle destroyed Brock, he was too technical for Brock. Many of the WWE superstars commented regarding this brawl.

@@sebs29 just a strange way to describe a wrestling / grappling match. To describe it as a bra makes it sound like someone picked up a glass beer bottle off of the pool table and started swinging it. They grappled. Brock Lesnar found out what made Kurt Angle is superior wrestler in every way in front of a lot of the locker room.

Yes, Kurt was, by far, the best pure athlete/wrestler in the company. Well, until Daniel Puder, that one time...

One thing I loved about classic wrestling back then was the difference in attitude between Scotty 2 Hotty coming in against the brothers of destruction. Compared to Stone Cold Steve Austin who was marching forward and didn't care whose ass he was going to kick to win. Good storytelling.
