Fun fact, if you knock the ref down too many times he quits, walks to the back like when you elimnate in tag matches. The matches become no rules and whoever loses all their health first loses.

It is crazy how now I will look at a $60-$70 game and think it is expensive, then see those prices back from when I was a kid and realize that they were the same. So that could be why my parents never bought me many games outside of Christmas or my birthday.

Thanks for continuing this series, Ian. It still remains my favorite on your channel, next to GM Showdown. While I understand your amount of personal stories for this one wasn’t as high compared to Royal Rumble, it was still a fun time learning more of this game with you, and that’s why I love Triangle X Squared O. Lastly, I can’t wait for your next episode as you know I LOVE hearing your personal stories, and how much something means to you. So until then, Ian. Thanks for another good time today, I hope you and all the DanDans have a lovely weekend, and I love you all.😊❤️

This was the game! 6 year old me going to my neighbours house to play it every day for hours on end. We couldn’t work out how to do most the finishers and there was no internet to help us! So spamming buttons until we managed to do one of them was extra memorable and rewarding! The Owen hart spinning sharpshooter (arms out tornado thing) was one of the most memorable. Also, you forgot the coolest part was the menu when you do the character select and it gave you their real entrance music snippet. Nothing cooler than razor Ramons music playing. Seriously we played this game for over 200 hours and loved every minute of it.

This is still one of my favorite wrestling games. It didn't really reinvent the wheel, but I still feel it was a step-up from Royal Rumble. Having the ability to return to the Rumble after getting eliminated with a new wrestler, a secondary weapon outside the ring, the referee quitting the match if he got knocked down too many times (thus turning it into a Brawl), occasional outside interference during 1-on-1 matches, the return of the Survivor Series, and entering the ring any time you wanted during a standard tag team or Survivor Series match because you could finally have the CPU control your partner on your team was a big deal to me. It's not the best wrestling game ever, but I'll argue from a feature standpoint, it was the best in the 16-Bit Era inside North America. Outside NA, Fire Pro rules all, of course.

I had this on genesis. Liked it ok, but the lack of Royal Rumble and Cage matches made it pretty bare bones. The intro (and referee) was probably the best thing about it. Raw as a show was only a year old, and they wanted to capitalize on that. Good point about Slam Masters

Great video this week. Super nostalgic game for me, it’s the first one I waited for its release, when I was 8. Going to a family get together and finding out my older cousin rented it for us to play, the school day lasted soooo long waiting to play that night. We played it from the time I got there to the time my parents dragged me out of there and I begged them to take me to Blockbuster to rent it for myself. They obliged, and BB was all out, and the weekend sucked lol. But Fire Pro, oh man so many hours sunk into that one. Downloading the files online and uploading them to my memory card to make my custom rosters and custom rings. This game was next level back in the day.

Fire Pro Wrestling is a game series that started in 1989 with Fire Pro Wrestling Combination Tag for the TurboGrafx-16 (PC Engine). Super Fire Pro Wrestling 3 Final Bout was the game I started with in 2005 and it was fun. However, the Fire Pro Wrestling series was originally just a Japanese series never brought to the United States. The first game to grace North America was in 2001 with a game called Fire Pro Wrestling AKA Fire Pro Wrestling Type A in Japan and I remember getting that cartridge in 2006 when I had a Nintendo Gamecube with the Gameboy Player. It was a great game and it was nice to play. Fire Pro Wrestling Returns is a game that I hold near and dear to me. The only game I specifically got a modded PS2 console for just so I can have the New Japan Pro Wrestling roster from 2014 - 2016 in this game because people used to mod Fire Pro Wrestling Returns to have updated rosters.

When you brought up _Saturday Night Slam Masters_ having matches with barbed wire and land mines, it made me realise how relatively grounded the _WWF_ games were. There should be more ridiculous wrestling games - not too cartoony, mind - but just heightening reality a notch or two to give a game some more personality. The more distinction in the characters and the arenas, the more heads turn to look. Also, thanks to you, I'll be powering through _SNSM_ this weekend. 😁

I have so many good memories of playing this with my brother and neighbors (as well as Royal Rumble) kinda funny how many times we won the tag tournament as Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart, knowing what we know now. Side note: there's not much to say about the SNES Super Wrestlemania. No title tournaments, no finishers, everyone has the same moves. Genesis at least added finishers and a world title mode.

OK, so there is actually a series of cheat codes that even 616 doesn't seem to know about. On the character select screen, pressing the select button brings up the displayed characters stats. Every character has a unique button combination that allows you to edit the wrestlers stats, allowing you to make them as strong or weak as you want. You can have a super strong 1-2-3 Kid or a super agile Yokozuna. There was no stat limit, so you could blast ALL the stats to full and make your character super powered. The altered stats would save until you turned off or reset the console.

LJN were not master video game developers but this game still beats Royal Rumble and Super Wrestlemania by leaps and bounds. In Super Wrestlemania for the Super NES everyone had the same moveset with no finishers in the game, the Sega version gave you finishers. This game does offer up some variety but that's how a lot of game developers were and still are, they give things to you slowly and they make you pay for them a little at a time.

shame we never got Raw 3, but, technically we did. Raw on SNES is the 1st, Raw on xbox is Raw 2, and Raw 2 IS RAW 3. they stuffed up making WM 21, awful. but seeing the Smackdown vs Raw games do so well, Raw lived with that franchise.
