To explain the Gwen thing: when she was pulled into Miles' dimension, she got pulled back earlier in time by a week.

The sequel clarifies that the spider that bit Miles was brought here by an earlier experiment, but Gwen specifically arrived days earlier then the actual experiment Miles witnessed. It’s possible that all the other variants arrived at different times between the experiment and Peter B appearing.

So the answer to your question about why they're sticky is actually a spider anatomy thing. The ends of spider legs have these little barbs that are suited for gripping onto walls and other surfaces, and the Spider-People have little spider barbs growing out of their hands that give them that ability as well. Not so sure how it explains how their feet can stick while wearing shoes, or how they can stick to things through the fabrics of their suits, but that's the basic explanation.

I believe in the comics the explanation was that they aren’t actually sticking like that. It’s through static electricity in a manner of speaking and that’s why they can stick through shoes and clothes, and why miles has electricity powers because his is particularly focused or something like that

ITSV is my comfort movie. Whenever I'm having a bad day (when the brain weasels are being especially cruel), I watch it. Hearing both Stan Lee and Miles say "Anyone can wear the mask" helps so much on those days. Also doesn't hurt that the soundtrack is incredible.
