The movie "Hell To Eternity" is my favorite WWII movie. I have not seen it on TV in a while. I wish they would show it again...instead I get to watch Independence Day over and over and over and over...Don't these stations have the budget to buy more movies????

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Gabaldon a few years ago. It still blows my mind why this Marine did not recieve the CMOH........ The countless lives that were save on both sides... Just don't make sense.

No didnt say that, I am just giving some balance to your idea that because he has mexican heritage that somehow thats the reason he was a brave soldier. There are other important influences which you ignore. Not least his ability to speak Japanese and his knowledge of Japanese culture which enabled him to get the Japanese to surrender and which resulted in his award for bravery
@elly87811 жыл бұрын
Guy Gabaldan was with his own family for 12 yrs. and about 4-5 yrs. with the Japanese family.While there is no doubt the Japanese family influenced him , he lived longer with his Mexican family and therefore formed by them. The japanese family had a son who did not become a hero in WWII.

I am giving some credit to his good upbringing by Japanese Americans. Which also contributed toward his attitude of patriotism. He wasnt brought up by mexicans.
@josemezatorrez12 жыл бұрын
@22grena Mr.Gabaldon had knoledge of Japanese culture but it would have been useless without his courage and bravery. Nice of you to take the time to undermine Gabaldon's heroic deeds.
