Not sure if the bar was the same here or not, but in a previous game, they picked the move that caused Leela to realize it was losing as brilliant, since that was presumably the move that Leela hadn’t given enough consideration. That seemed like a really good way to do it. Whether Leela missed it or not, that room move is definitely tricky to find.
@dazey8563 жыл бұрын
@@theodoremurdock9984 that would make since if it a brilliant move was determined by a misevaluation by the other engine, it looks at all moves but I guess not at a deep enough depth there to have realized it was losing

From 14:50 I was like "Why on Earth didn't it play Rf4??" Then I saw that bringing the other rook, even if it was hanging, protected the pawn on d7, which makes the move Rhd1 an absolutely great move
@chandugadichannel15683 жыл бұрын
Exact thought, what makes the series of moves the best is that the Rhd1 and Rf4. If not Rhd1, Rf4 shouldn't be the best

As a French Defense player I enjoy seeing these sorts of squeezes. They remind me of the need for activity and not to coast and maneuver too slowly. I also like the foreshadowing of how the pawn might be useful in the attack.

Between top engines white gets a significant advantage in the French, (if you let the engines choose which line to play). Also the engine must have been forced to play 5...Ng8. After that anti-genius move SF's opinion is a clear advantage for white which not surprisingly led to a win for white.

After Nxh5 gxh5 Qxh5+ Kg8, I don't understand why white wouldn't continue with Qe8+ Kh7 and Qxe6. I feel like grabbing that 4th pawn is worth it even though you still haven't brought the rooks into the attack, and I don't see any concrete reason as to why this would have been a be idea. Can anyone explain why this would have been bad? Or is it the case that my idea isn't bad but just isn't as good as activating a rook immediately?

The variations in tempo you use are hard to follow. You spend 20 seconds on one move, and then while still talking about that move, make 2 quick moves in a sequence, unexpectedly, so that move in the middle isn't even visible. I can see movie 1 and move 3, but move 2 gets lost in translation. For example, at 6:25 you're talking about the rook and slow maneuvering game, then at 6:35 you move the knight, while still closing the talk about the rook, and then you move the king. I have to rewind to see that middle move. Your finger is fast on the trigger :)
