X-Men 97 is genuinely incredible. Like I didn't realize how much I missed the X-Men as a family until I watched the first two episodes of the show. Everything from the conversation between Jean and Storm about how Jean should raise her son in a world that will always remind him about how he's different and how this world will always hate him for simply being born, to honestly one of my favorite Magneto speeches and moments of all time when he pulled the UN Council to the the edge of Earth's atmosphere because of what happened to Strom and came so close to smiting them out of existence but restrained himself because an old friend challenged him to remember a different view of the world. Charles challenged Magnus to remember how vast the world is versus how small they make it. I loved how he said the dream isn't from mutants and humans to love each other but simply to accept their existence and that Earth is a shared world with a common future. The music score in that scene was incredible. Speaking of music, the newly revamped intro was also fantastic! The really cool added visual details and the slightly retouched music was awesome and gave me nostalgia for a time I wasn't even alive for. On another great note, it's so awesome to finally see my boy Cyclops done right as the leader of the X-Men! Marvel Animation is doing justice to Cyclops with only two episodes of X-Men 97 when 20th Century Fox couldn't after multiple movies. 😭 The "To me, my X-Men" Call to Arms phrase is the best Marvel has. This comment is already crazy long so I'm going to wrap up by saying that X-Men 97 is even more proof that Marvel stories and just comic book stories in general are best realized in animation. Like I couldn't even imagine them trying to pull off that incredible Cyclops superhero landing in live action because you can only really do cool stuff like that in animation cuz to be quite frank animation is just better. 🥱 Also, seeing that Strom " Omega Level Threat" moment was also so badass! As you can tell I love this show quite a bit so I'm happy to hear that it's the highest rated Marvel show ever with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. It genuinely deserves all the critical and streaming viewership success it's finding right now. 👏🏽 10/10 show so far! 🌟✨️🎆

I checked out both of the newest episodes, and I have to say I was literally *BLOWN AWAY* by how good the episodes were. The outstanding animation and seamless 3D and 2D animation blend are mesmerising. The story also truly feels like a continuation of the original show, and the plot lines and twists introduced are wonderfully written and executed. *Possibly some of the best Marvel content we've ever received in a long time.* I adored the characterisation of Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Magneto, Jean, Rogue, etc... Everyone truly felt like nothing had changed, but it still felt satisfying to see them again. I loved seeing the focus on Cyclops and finally showing why he is such a BADASS character and why he deserves to be the leader of the X-men, plus Scott's & Jean's relationship and them questioning the future of the X-men and their child. Seeing Magneto genuinely want to change for his friend was really powerful, especially with that speech in episode 2, which, holy s***, was an intense moment, and his final "don't make me let you down", total CHILLS! But watching Storm lose her powers was heartbreaking and devasting, especially since Storm is one of my favourite X-men and female superheroes. Her losing her powers was the equivalent of chemical castration, and seeing her mentally process it almost brought me to tears

While I am tempted by a few cartoon revivals (Spectacular, Avengers: EMH, etc.) that could come from this, I hope Disney doesn't take the wrong lesson from this and just focuses on reviving old cartoons and nostalgia. Yes yes yes! Agree to all of this. I love the MCU but there’s so much of it in movies, tv shows, and video games that it all feels the same and repetitive; not new. Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes was their last great animation because it was their own thing. It was not tied to or in the shadows of the MCU. Xmen 97 stands on its own. The soap opera drama, the edginess, colorfulness, action, and real world issues can be cranked up to an eleven. Its feels like a comic book come to life. I hope this signals Disney/ Marvel that not everything has to be MCU related and that we need to start drifting to other sectors of Marvel. And to take time to brand their characters.

Seeing this video about Marvel Animations rising from the dead is one of the greatest things to make my freaking day... and judging by the comments? *EVERYONE* wants Marvel Animations to return and deliver more MARVEL content over the MCU slop. Like... X-Men '97 literally brought Marvel Fans and FAMILIES together when it dropped, like are you serious 😭. This is why Marvel Animations is so important becuase they make Marvel feel EXCITING! Through Marvel Animations, they can explore the great depths and WONDERS of Marvel's history from the comics. What made them SPECIAL in the first place. Either as big movies or cartoon shows! Bro, ver since disney bought Marvel, their first decision should have been to focus on Marvel Animations! But they didn't, and it SUFFERED for it... we were left to live in a stranded desert of DROUGHT and disappointment, which was the "Dark Age" of Marvel Animations. Sure, they've gone through success with the MCU, but in this day and age? It's starting to lose its luster, and it's literally beginning to RUST. Dude... nobody wants the MCU to be the main course for ENTERTAINMENT that deals around marvel! Marvel shouldn't be all about the MCU. That gets old real quick, and it shows due to these sucka's starting to lose big money with their recent MCU movies. **SIGH** We were literally stuck with mediocre disney shows and MCU content for decades, dude... for YEARS, and it's literally depressing that they placed us in such a spot for so long! But no more, dude. A spark has been lit... a new horizon has started to rise! X-Men '97 is the biggest sign of hope that Marvel is coming back into its ROOTS to feel SPECIAL again. Marvel Animations has returned to show this generation how THEY stand on freaking *BUSINESS* for Marvel Entertainment. To say the least. *A new Golden Age has begun...* I don't know what the future is in store, but i'm starting to believe that it's going to be one of the greatest times that we'll ever live in! Oh, and speaking of Marvel Animation stuff returning??? I think it's about time disney called up the people who presented *"Marvel Era"* to ACTUALLY start its production. That joint is INTERESTING.

X-Men feels like a breath of fresh air because it's not an important "lead" and unimportant "sidekicks" it's about a bunch of important people with their own identities and issues. Hollywood seems to reflexively shift back to "movie star" and "unimportant side characters", probably because that's how their funding model has always been set up. Animation is a lot easier to sidestep this because there's not the same kind expectation of giant dollars for "leading man" or "leading woman."

That’s always been one of the MCU’s greatest weaknesses. They took the connected universe too Funny cause this is a knock on the DCEU that I actually think is a positive. It’s established that the heroes of the DCEU live in the same world, but they always have to crossover. They have their own adventures and when they do finally crossover it’s a big deal. The comics use to be like this until the MCU came along. Now it don’t feel special anymore . . at least not at Marvel cause every issue has every hero crossing over. It’s too much.

I think the thing to consider about Marvel characters is that they've been around for a long ass time and retold endlessly through different adaptations and incarnations. A majority of these characters would be public domain if not for the aggressive lobbying by their corporate owners. People who care about Marvel don't want these characters to exist within the confines of a single interpretation indefinitely, plus most people will probably understand that the Iron Man from a new cartoon show isn't the same Iron Man from the movies.

I am loving 97 so much. I hope that it is so successful that they finally give us the final season of the 90s Spider-Man series.

I need to see a redeemed Magneto go all out ruthless against Mr. Sinister. Even if Magneto loses I want to see him fight an enemy I can seriously root against

I need for them to animate Excalibur. do the whole cross time caper arch just for how fun it is. but they should update it some tho, send the team to some more pertinent IP settings like a Hogwartz ripoff or One Piece etc. but yeah...there legit should be an animated show for almost every Marvel title such as Exiles etc. it's 2024 already and probably a bit past time when I would have thought this would have started.

It’s ironic that a much cheaper (in terms of cost not quality) TV show with no connection to the MCU, could save the MCU. In regard to the larger enterprise management system itself, this allows for more experimentation & the ability to cherry pick ideas for live action films without the financial obligation or fan expectation for adaptation

Nah... it ain't saving the MCU. But it's saving Marvel Entertainment.

I’ve been waiting for this since the announcement was made in 2021 and now it’s finally here and it’s everything that I ever hoped for since becoming an X-Men fan and I can’t wait to find out what happens next ❤️.

This show is badass even as an adult his show is perfect. It doesn't force the message and doesn't treat the audience like fools. Its serious, funny ,gritty, and has dialogue you would expect from real people. You can feel the effort and awesome love for the source material

Bottom line If you weren't a kid when the original show came out You won't feel like it like us forty plus year olds It is what it is .... I had to be 12 or thirteen when these shows first premiered I'm forty one now It's not nostalgia for us to those who are just seeing these characters it's a dope experience seeing them brought back after so many years with some of the same voice actors Especially wolverine To have that voice is amazing But the show is indeed phenomenal It always has been The only issue then was the amount of violence they with held on as those characters aged.... Cyclops was always the leader yes but he barely I mean barely shined He was always screaming jean The series today has turned Cyclops into the blue destroyer we always wanted.... Wolverine to me in my opinion is the one that has taken a backseat But back then his voice and quips were all he did wolverine was more talk because of that voice it sold the show all he had to say was some corny line and make his claws appear and that was the scene mostly He barely used them But now it's different The animation is on point and they can go further with a more mature atmosphere as of now the three episodes I've watched I've enjoyed the third less more then the others but it cohesively made sense at the end

THANK YOU!!!!! I've been thinking this for so long but could never articulate it very well!!!!!!! I am so tired of the MCU right now and that's mainly because they have to stick to a formula that doesn't allow stories to branch off. As I am typing this I just realized that the MCU is kind of like the TVA. They have a strict formula and anything that differs from that is discarded and doesn't happen often. But yeah, the best Marvel movies are the ones that are different and weird and disconnected. Those kinds of movies can be watched by both Marvel fans and Movie fans. This is why I personally think that the old Marvel logo at the beginning of movies like the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, X-Men, Fantastic 4, and Deadpool are much cooler than the Marvel Studios logo. The non-MCU Marvel movies feel like the characters leaping right off the page while the MCU feels a bit ashamed of the comics and makes new versions of these characters. I hope this made sense, but thank you so much for really articulating those thoughts I had so well. I'm glad you feel the same way!

Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! I am beyond tired of live action comic book movies. I loved the MCU when it started. As a comic book fan it was an amazing feeling seeing characters I love on screen. Now, it’s just meh and I’m tired of it. Moving forward I would much prefer animated comic book movies. This show is everything I was hoping it would be. As a huge fan of comics in general, it Xmen comics in particular, it feels wonderful watching these stories jump out of the pages.

YOU GOT IT DOWN TO THE T! I dislike the MCU and then they try to put it into the comics. I hate itttt. One of my biggest gripes is Wanda, Magneto, and her siblings. Wanda is Romani. They completely erased that fact about her and her mother. Wanda, Pietro, and Polaris needs to be related and Magneto should be their father. When they changed all that….Yeah, no.
@Linklex79 ай бұрын
Facts. That never should’ve happened. Remember when they tried to send the X-Men to their own planet just to replace them in the Inhumans over some silly movie rights? Then dropped the Inhumans as soon as they brought Fox.

"Charles Xavier entrusted me with his dream, and it does not ask you to love or embrace my kind as your own. But merely to accept that this i a shared world with a common future and that my kind, like yours, have the right to live in it" is a line that could not have been more relevant unless it had been spoken 90 years ago in the 1930s. as a Trans person it was Jarring hearing those words so overtly and feeling for the first time that a piece of media was taking a stance and making its stance as clear cut as possible. it was the most genuine set of words i have ever heard, and i had never felt so empowered in my life. I dont think ill ever forget that feeling. i have that clip saved on YT so that whenever i need it, the X-Men will be there to remind me that i do have a place in this world, and i have a right to be here as does everyone else, differences be dammed. the show did not need to do this for me to be a fan. i have always loved the X-Men. and the new art style and the way the Characters use their abilities both on and off the battle field is so creative and awesome that this show already had me hooked. what was just as Jarring as Magnetos words was my internal reaction to hearing the word mutant and freak used as a slur by Friends of Humanity members. because both are things i have been called in real life. those aren't stand in slurs or backhanded comments swapped out. they ARE MY experience with bigotry. and every time i heard those words being used to describe me as if i wasn't a person, it hurt sure, but I'm not ashamed of who i am. i know I'm different. i don't need the world to constantly remind me and treat me as such. and whenever it does it just proves to me why stories like X-Men are important. because they are real in the ways that matter. Sentinels aren't real, i (unfortunately cant shoot lasers from my eyes). but the injustice, the bigotry, the hate thrown at the Trans and wider Queer community IS real. and were not the only community to face this. i dont even know WHY I'm saying all this but i felt compelled to. to have my voice heard even if its just as a blur on someone phone as they scroll through a YT comment section. But i think that just speaks more to the affect this show and in particular that quote i started with had on me. i will never forget that. which is saying something because ask phone, i forget thing very easily lol.

When Marvel takes the pressure off of it being the MCU they make some of their best stuff. Daredevil, Agents of SHIELD, Cloak and Dagger? Really solid episodes that were allowed to try whatever they wanted because Feige couldn’t care less.
