The saddest part about Cyclops is that there are two moments in which he was well written, the first one was in the very first film when Xavier is in a coma, the second one in the Wolverine movie that everybody hates, check that young Cyclops, he's self loathing but somehow can command groups, that is more Cyclops than he ever was or has been since then.

The pattern in the trilogy is Xavier always getting taken out of the action so he doesn't just dominate the entire film. That actually straight up applies to Cyclops too - he got taken out in very similar ways to the Professor in both X2 and X3, basically denying him the chance to have any character development. I wouldn't say he's badly written, more that the story writing is just out to get him.

My favorite mutant power. The fact that he has to wear a super badass-looking visor to control its raw destructive power gives some interesting nuance to his gift. While the movies didn't do justice to his character, I think that he was perfectly cast. And despite the black leather suits aren't a fan-favorite, I think that Cyclops was the only one who really looked great wearing them, especially in X2 with the trenchcoat.

Cyclops was my favourite character when I first saw the X-Men as a kid. Such a shame he always plays second fiddle to Wolverine in the movies, although well cast as James Marsden. Bring on X-Men Apocalypse when we can see him get some limelight and kick some ass for a change instead of being brainwashed or turned to ash!

Yeah, everybody now knows that Fox xmen-movies story is different to the comic ver. but i'm thinking, if they change the story line, why they wouldnt try to make relation between Cyclops with Wolverine just like Rick and Darryl from TWD. it will be so much powerful, Cyclops will be a great leader and tactician, Wolverine will be the ultimate assasin, Let jeans and cyclops love story not be disturbed by anyone anymore. Tye Sheridan is a decent actor. I'm sure he can do justice with the character he's portraying. But I'm not sure if Singer would do justice to Cyclops. On a side note, I really wanna see some uber optic blast, I wanna see alter the size of his optic blast from the size of a needle to an all out optic blast. They should also need to throw in some hand to hand combat. Cyclops is usually not a slouch on this department. But above all, I wanna see the bank shots so bad!

Interesting fun fact: Bryan Singer originally had Chris Potter aka voice of Gambit from 90's animated series to audition for Cyclops for the first X-Men film despite that Chris Potter never wanted that role because he doesn't like going through with wearing the dark visor the entire time. He's relieved that he didn't get the part for Cyclops, and he kinda claims that Bryan Singer is a creepy guy.
