Logan knows him from the future, actually if you want to see proof, in the x men origins movie, when wolverine is saving the mutants from the nuclear reactor in the island, you can see a glimpse cameo of quicksilver, attached to ropes inside a cage, where he cant run. Logan meets him there by not only looking at him and saving him, but also talking to him supposedly after the movie ends. Just search on youtube "Quicksilver x men origins"

I'm not sure how old Quicksilver is supposed to be (I assume late-teens), and the movie takes place in 1973.... Going off of the movie timeline, with powers manifesting in early-teens [11-13], and the series opening in 1944 we can assume Magneto is somewhere in his early to mid-40s.

It has been speculated and its probably true that quick silver doesn't exactly moves faster then everyone he rather manipulates time to make himself go faster.Normally in this scene there should be gusts of wind,and loud noises(Like when a car passes you by driving at 80 km/h or 50 miles/h )whenever he moves,not just a simple bluer.And a few other fizical phenomenon that don't happen either so time manipulation sounds very plausible.And also the ability to control time sounds way cooler then physical enhancements.
