Will the x12 controller support field weakening? Its a great way to get some more rpm out of the motor with lower voltage battery packs. I have used other controllers with the gen2 motor and can say that motor design responds decently to field weakening. 40 amps of F.W. gained around 40% more rpm with my 52-volt battery pack which brought the performance top end up to what most 72 volt packs deliver. I can draw more amps from the 52 volt pack (100) than the 72 volt pack (40) so the torque holds out to higher RPM.

My gen 0 Cyclone 3k is still running fine after 8 years, but I have to admit that fat chain and chainring looks really nice.
@Hunter_Bidens_Crackpipe_11 ай бұрын
Fat chain is only because of the tighter pitch (they can use a smaller cog on the motor), the torque there is very low.

In the process of redesigning the motor for the x1 gen 4 , did you address to the problem of the glued magnets coming loose on the gen 3 , considering the x1 pro motors have had this issue before one would think that in the redesigning of the new motor cyc would logically address to this magnet issue

Love your mid drive. Heard a lot on the net. Thinking of buying one for my bike. Some major points: Weight is a big issue. A bag of rice weighs 8Kg. The X1 Pro Gen 4 weighs one kilogram more than a sack of rice at Loblaws. Issue number two are the exposed control cables. What type of bike? I'm thinking this mid drive would be great for a fat MTB. If you add a 72V 1000 watt molicel battery that would be an additional 8 to 9 Kg for a grand total of 18Kg. A MTB is typically 13 to 14Kg. Let's round that out for a total of approximately 30Kg which is the weight of a teenager. Could you peddle this bike back with all the bells and whistles added? No? I'm thinking buy a Sur-Ron. How much does a Sur-Ron street legal Ultra Bee weight? 85Kg I can't peddle my MTB after I modified it with the mid drive plus the battery. Too heavy. I can't peddle the Sur Ron either but that's a moot point since my beautiful eMTB is too heavy to peddle. I'd have to be Lou Ferigno or Arnold the Governator to peddle that beast of an eMTB with the CYC plus battery. Knowing all this should Peter waste his time with the CYC 5000W mid drive? Or just save up for a SurRon street legal Ultra Bee. I recently saw Anne Hathaway at the No Frills. Didn't know if it was her. Was I hallucinating. Twenty minutes later after I was walking home with my groceries I thought Yeah that was Anne Hathaway. Same thing with Emily Blunt several years ago. I thought out loud THERE'S NO WAY THAT IS EMILY BLUNT! As soon as I blurted the words her face became crimson red as she fled for the door of the TTC subway train at Eglinton West station. . A lot of movie stars are here for the Toronto International Film Festival. Big Colossal success? Too early to say. Richard Gere is also in town.

Major reviewers of this product are saying that this new design motor is flawed because it has its magnets glued into place as the previous design and may still suffer the same problems as its predecessor did where ithe magnets tend to come loose or off when the x1 pro gen 3 was pushed to its limits or driven up hills extensively
@cycmotor10 ай бұрын
Contrary to popular believe, it's not a design issue. We carefully considered the motor design when developing the product and have reviewed it with every generation. However, we had to look much deeper into our manufacturing processes. With a very tight tolerance and strong adhesive, the magnets are tested with highest RPM and won’t fail. It can now take a lot more abuse in extreme riding conditions.

There is some small improvement on the sound compared to Gen 3, but the X1 PRO is an inherently noisier motor due to its exposed chain. But the sound matches the power and in real life and it is quite acceptable considering the power it delivers.

Hi, motor core is completely redesigned and updated already. Some customers are asking about whether it is the IPM or SPM motor, we would like to explain in further details: 1. It is a SPM motor given the size and diameter of the motor design. SPM is an optimized engineering choice for such a compact motor which needs to fulfill the power requirement. it will provide better torque and efficiency comparing to IPM motor in this form factor and weight. 2. There are pros and cons respectively for SPM and IPM motor, SPM motor can in general provide better torque and efficiency with the same weight and form factor, downside is that it is much more challenging to build the rotor for high rpm. 3. The gen4 rotor magnet is now retained mechanically along the two edges of each magnet with high precision tolerance. They are then reinforced by strong adhesive. We have tested all the motor up to the peak rpm and we have also verified all the new design with an intensive life testing.
