I picked up the 3.8 XDM Elite Osp about a year ago. I was raised on 1911's so the Grip Safety isn't a big deal to my Manuel of Arms. I am impressed with the trigger and those sights are surprisingly nice. I have EDC a Glock 30SFT since 2012 and it is my " go to weapon". Accurate, simply and reliable. Not a Glock Fan Boy ( it is my only Glock that I have ever own). The XDM would be a great EDC , Home Defense or Woods Gun. I pickup some extended magazines and spacers and it just fits my large hands perfectly. I had a Sig 320 .45 ACP on layaway but couldn't find a Compact Moduler, so went with the XDM. Hope you make your choice and just know the XDM has treated me well. Semper Fi

Welcome to the party! Please do a couple things for me and make the gun owning experience as positive as you can. Learn the 4 laws of gun safety and live by them as if it were a religion - Never EVER assume a gun is unloaded - you should verify the status of the chamber every time you pick up a gun if you plan on handling it. Even when you know it's supposed to be unloaded or loaded. www.corneredcat.com/article/firearms-safety/the-four-rules/ Since this is a gun you intend to use for defense - get a cheap safe to store it in - presuming you live in a house with others who don't need access. Amazon has some options looks like RPNB makes some options that is going to fit your gun - this gun is taller than most due to the magwell, extended mags, and suppressor height sights. It seems expensive but you're only buying it once. Add on a 5th law that's absolutely important - NEVER set a loaded gun down on a surface in your house. You can get called away and forget about it. If you HAVE to set it on a surface that's not your gun safe or holster - take the time to unload it, put the mag in your pocket with the loose round from the chamber. And if I could take up 10 more minutes of your time - maybe check out these two videos of mine - they will help you get off to a strong start on the journey of ownership. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6bRmYCBh7iCl9U kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4axgKGFrt2sq6c

This is possibly the absolute most underrated pistol in the world. I have heard so many people talk 💩 about Springfield but that is their mistake. Trigger is good but not quite as good as my CZ P10C or the PPQ triggers. The accuracy is second to none if you do your job. I put on the holosun, a weaponlight/laser and a Springer Precision compensator. It is the fastest gun back on target I have ever personally shot. I shot plenty of different loads with the compensator and have had zero malfunctions.
@jw5297 Жыл бұрын
I personally went with a minicomp from Lakeline llc. Don't care for that huge comp on the end of this weapon. This said there wasn't alot of muzzle rise before but now she runs like a sewing machine and I don't have all that additional bulk on the firearm.
@thetacticalape8852 Жыл бұрын
@jw5297 Nice. I was on the fence about putting a compensator on, but since this is not my carry piece, I figured I would try one. I am really impressed so far. It shoots any ammo I feed it and didn't need to change springs. The extra bulk is no biggie for me, just keeps the muzzle a little heavier. I may try a smaller compensator on my PDP Pro...
@jw5297 Жыл бұрын
@@thetacticalape8852 Like you my XDM is not a conceal carry, but I have gone to it over the G17, I just shoot it better, and has factory threaded barrel, and suppressor height sights which work with my can. I also happen to have a RDS on it, my first, went cheap to see how I liked it, its an ADE and so far works but definitely going to a holosun for the shake awake feature, I have holosun on each of my ARs and AKs and took off an eotech and all my LVPOs as let's face it, in a law abiding society, when am I actually going to need an LVPO? Its against the law to point a weapon at someone, and I have binos on my chestrigs and plate carriers for PID, and weapons are zeroed at 36 yards so 30-300 yards is literally point and shoot. And shots that far would be murder not self defense so red dots are my choice for defensive weapons. Having to turn on a weapon sight or check to see if the battery needs replaced is a bad bad time in a gun fight.

I bought this about a month ago. I actually really like it too with a few nitpicks. The pistol DOES NOT ship with the optic mounting plates, I had to go through Springfield and register the serial number to “redeem” ONE plate. Yes, they won’t give you all three mounting plates. So if you want the option of mounting different optics, powder river precision plates work. The second issue I had was the trigger. I haven’t shot it 500 times yet, but it was not as good as I had anticipated. Also, did you notice there is a double click on the reset? Now I am legitimately not advertising for PRP Ok, but I got one of their spring kits and well it lightened it up...shocker. The bigger improvement is that the double click reset resolved. I think it was the striker safety plunger spring OR the lighter striker spring. I isolated it that far and stopped caring after that. Outside of those two issues, this is my first optics pistol so I’m just enjoying the learning curve. Thank you for putting in the time for your quality videos. New subscriber!

I noticed that they started selling for less too- I think they lowered the price and changed how they did the plates.

Great review... When I last went to the range with someone that had the 45xdm ( a fair comparison to the 10mm g20 due to frame size)... I couldn't help but feel like I was faster and had better hits with his xd then my g20.....I'm sure it was me....to blame a gun these days is lame lol..... But I did find myself looking at doing a grip reduction on the glock Because the xd in a full size cartridge (10mm 45 acp ) frame felt more ergonomic...... Again good review

I run the delta point pro! I have the FDE and marching red dot! No the sights aren’t tall enough but it’s super close! But I love the sight

Great video. It’s funny, the gun looks tan in a lot of photos but it is definitely green in person.

xd is a fantastic pistol, everytime I pick up an xdm its like saying hello again to an old friend. I actually call bullseyes at the range with friends, I'll tell my buddy to come to my lane and watch me hit this bullseye, line up the sights squeeze the trigger, boom dead center on the first shot. Its better than the glock in every way trust me I've shot both, xdm is superior

Which Holosun are you using in this Video bud? I just grabbed one of these for 300 bucks. Too cheap to pass up. Should you happen to know if the Holosun 407c-x2 will fit this gun? Another awesome video from the man himself! Thanks again….

Just picked mine up from my FFL today. Hoping to get out and shoot it tomorrow. Sadly I didn’t get the red dot adapter plates in the box. Have seen online other buyers missing them as well. But Springfield customer service had them shipped out.

I would and here is why…. The FN 509c tactical offers a 4.3 inch threaded barrel and very small grip. With the base plate added to factory mags I can choose what and how I carry without sacrificing barrel length. You can say the trigger isn’t stellar and I’m here to agree to a point… the more rounds that I put through my FN 509c tac the smoother the trigger became and after 4k rounds through her, my trigger is everything I can hope for for a stock trigger. The optic system is awesome and state of the art with the design so the optic mounts cleaner and tighter without loctite. I would love to put the same 4k rounds through this Springfield platform to see how it compares to my FN 509c tac. Not anti Springfield by any means just saying that the FN 509c tactical has exceeded all expectations for me with a few specs that do justify the added cost. Hammer forged crown recessed marksmen barrel, optic plate system, the slide and barrel length to frame ratio as well as round capacity and availability of mags and parts topped with excellent customer svc still makes me an FN believe. That said I’m intrigued and would love to run this weapon as Springfield is also top tier when it comes to reliable weapon platforms.

I carry this on duty and needed a level 2 retention holster. Only place I could get one was at DARA Holsters. They custom make the holster and it is a very good holster.

Really considering this gun more now. I was going to go for the FN 509 Tac but it’s way more money especially when you add the Apex heavy duty Striker and trigger. ($200 more for those two add ons) we’ll see.
