Cesar, is there a video/series you would suggest on the more specific rules of snooker (fouls etc). For example, here I am not understanding the ability to hit black when player is supposedly required to hit red and especially potting black when I thought he was on red? Things like #of rails equalling a good hit on red from a snooker (trying to figure out from watching vids can be difficult, yet seeing video examples would be much more beneficial than reading rules). Thanks for any/all suggestions. Love this channel btw.

@@JH-ji6cj yes, around the 8 minute mark. Gary Wilson fouled and snookered Xiao at the same time, so Xiao was able to choose any ball. You can look up "free ball rule" and it's pretty clear.

@@rtarbinar so, since the red Xiao was 'on' happened to be snookered after the foul, he was able to pot the black AS A RED (due to Red being snookered)? And thus counted as 1 point as Red, got reset to it's position, then he potted it again as its original point total. Only then was he responsible to set himself into position to hit Red after the second black pot. That makes a lot more sense. Thanks for having me look harder into Free Ball situations. Some things were/are still hard to read to understand, but starting to make a lot more sense!

In the same frame maybe but the whole match i think was higgins vs williams uk 2010 final being 9-5 down mark potted the black as a frame match and title ball but higgins managed to get the one snooker he needed making it 9 all after it and playing a large table double on the brown to take the Win

Just type free ball in snooker, you will find your answer. But essentially, if your opponent completely misses the ball he shot at, and after that you don't have a shot at ball you are shooting, you have a free ball, meaning you can choose what ball to hit and it's value is like the ball you were supposed to hit. Not easy to explain :')

@@Cheordig It was a decider frame. If you look at other deciders you'll see that it's not uncommon at all for players to keep playing for snookers. Usually the player that is in front has the momentum and gets off the line quickly, but not always.
