Indeed, his study must've had someone from Thai teaching him. Bcs textbook is usually so different than in reality especially with locals. Cultural context is important. Finally Xiaoma learns Thai, my mother tongue! Thai is a very difficult language to master tones and pronunciations but I'm impressed how much you've learnt in two weeks! Thank you for visiting and showcasing our country, and interviewing world leaders in APEC as well! Slight correction for @6:19, it is not "Can you handle spicy food?" but it is "Which region do you like its food the most?" (so ชอบกินอาหารภาคไหน = chob kin ahan pak nai = like+eat+food+region+which? instead of ชอบกินอาหารเผ็ดมั้ย = chob kin ahan ped mai = like+eat+food+spicy+?) I hope you do continue learning Thai and have more chances to visit other parts of our country as well!

The more I watch this, the more I think it'd be super cool to see you do some more long form/documentary style videos where you get to spend more time to learn not only the language, but the culture and history behind it too. I truly love your style of videos because I appreciate how you are simultaneously light-hearted and entertaining while also being informative for the audience and respectful of everyone you talk to, and I would love to see what you could do if you were able to dedicate like six or eight weeks to a single production. I'm not saying I think you should stop doing your usual videos (please don't, I love them dearly lol), I just mean incorporating them as an annual/biannual project where you can dedicate it to studying a language/culture you've always wanted to get into but didn't have the time for. Not to speak for the entire audience, but I think we'd love to see you pull out your inner Anthony Bourdaine for a video or two! That aside, I just want to say you're not only a fantastic entertainer, but also a fantastic role model as well. I appreciate you, and I hope you and the family are happy and healthy!

Thai is easier to speak than English. Because Thai language speaks sentences from front to back. But English doesn't line up sentences with words. For example, what are you doing? but Thai sentences Will arrange sentences, words such as you are doing what. you=kun, are=gamlung doing=time, what= a line. Thai reads aloud that.Kun gamlung time a line. It has the same meaning as English. What are you doing?if you understand this simple principle, you will understand Thai language easier.

6:18 correction. She actually asked you "ชอบกินอาหารภาคไหน? chob-gin-ar-han-paark-nai?" that means "Which region of Thailand do you like its food best?" Because Thai food kinda differs upon region. ภาคอีสาน Esan (Northeastern Thai) food has a lot of Laos influence. ภาคกลาง Middle Thai food has a lot of Chinese influence ภาคใต้ Southern Thai food is very spicy and has a lot of Malaysian influence. While ภาคเหนือ Northern Thai food has Lanna-Laos influence. Anyway, that is very impressive of how you managed to learn quite a lot within only 3 weeks. Thai language is quite difficult to learn. Hope you had a great time and tried great food in Thailand.

You're so cute trying to speak Thai. For Thai people, just you try to talk, even if you can't speak properly, but we will try to understand what you have communicated. We like people who try to speak Thai, we don't mind if you don't speak Thai correctly. We say that trying to speak Thai is your charm. Or even better, if you say " Krub " at the end of your sentence, it will make you look very cute and humble in our culture. The word " Krub " is used for men and the word " Ka " is used for women.

Bangkok is a great place to enjoy food. Make sure you visit the northeast of Thailand as well. Sausages in banana leaves and noodles are the best in Thailand.

6:19 They were asking you which region's food do you like the most, not spiciness. ภาค (Phâk) means region | เผ็ด (Phět) means spicy. The answer should've been ภาคเหนือ (Phâk Nuéa), ภาคอีสาน (Phâk Īsán), ภาคกลาง (Phâk Klāng), or ภาคใต้ (Phâk Taì).

I'm pretty impressed with what you've learned in such short time. The hard thing with thai is that you speak opposite. So let's say in English we would say "I am eating a salad" we would say "salad I eat" so it's the vocabulary plus putting words in the right order. All in all, I love your videos and I've learned so many languages learning from you. @6:56 is what we call "num vanh"

I started watching polyglots videos after i discovered laoshu505000 youtube channel. I always thought his content could have been even better if he had the chance to travel the world and comunicate with people in their own country. He didn't in the end, but i'm happy seeing you travelling across the world. RIP Moses, the OG polyglot GOAT.
