I have a 2001 vstar 1100, and rode through a monsoon for 3 or so hours. There were trucks and cars crashed on the side of the road, and you couldn't see the taillights of a car 50 yards in front of you. Never lost traction and had no problems. Even strong wind doesn't affect it too much. Pretty easy to work on, too.

On the 1100, the oil filter is the NAPA gold 4935. Red o ring goes closest to the engine. Black o ring goes closest to the outside.

They should still be making it, the 1100 is a perfect bike, plenty of zip, reasonably comfy, handles fair, feels light as a feather, sounds good, looks great, shaft drive, great bike to put a wind screen on and take for a 3 hour tour. I like my custom. If i had to change anything i would pull a touch of rake out of the front end, and add oil filter relocater, not a big issue i clean my pipes every time i change my oil filter...

I see a lot of used 1100s for sale that have the filter relocation kit. I just bought a vstar 650 as my first bike, and I'll probably upgrade in 2 years to the 1100, but I will make sure that filter relocation is pre-installed on the bike I get, even if it means I'll have to pay 200 or 300 more, would be worth it.

I have a 06 Vstar 1100 Silverado about 4800 miles, original battery. Yuasa batteries are the best in my opinion. I have Vance and Hines pipes and a oil filter location kit. No more dropping the exhaust to change the oil filter! I haven't ridden it much in the last 2 years because of my work schedule and a hectic life. Now I have the bike at my home now after 10 years of renting garages. Hopefully this summer we can get out more and ride!

@derfskittlers61253 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I wouldgo on longer trips if mine cruised a little better at 70-75 mph. Definitely need a windscreen. I tried being macho when I first started, after a couple weeks I put it on.

I agree, I have a 2001 with 7000km on it with extended controls (i'm 6'9") And I constantly try to upshift when I'm in 5th. So a 6th gear and a Tech/rev counter wold be awesome.

No. It's a pretty low bike. I'm 5'11 and leaning on my backrest, I can place my feet flat on the ground. It has a good center of gravity, and is very forgiving at low speed maneuvers.

Hey I'm in Michigan and about to pull the trigger on a 2007 VSTAR 1100 Classic with a lil over 10000 miles, for $3880 ..with tax and title it comes to $4750.. ( this Will be my 1st bike,) my question is tax and title really $870..$3880 is about $185 cheaper then blue book price
@Srkcycles7 жыл бұрын
+B Rog that sounds kind of expensive and taxes shouldn't be that high. What's your tax rate
@4everDCOOL17 жыл бұрын
Srkcycles that's what I thought too I used a Michigan tax calculator and with personalized plates I don't think it was $40 .
Crazy to think a FZ-07 has half the displacement with the same power. And a higher top speed. I will never understand cruisers.
