To anyone having alcohol addiction problems - you are better than this. You have value and meaning. Your parents thought so, or they wouldn't have brought you into this world. You are better than this. Conquer it.

I can relate to this song .. I know I drank away many years of my life . But not because of addiction but because I hated the life I was living ..

I was in AA for a while then I realized I was being brainwashed. Sober for 2 years and did my 12 steps and still feel like a better person for it, i needes that time to grow the fuck up a little bit. I do drink socially now and get fucked up sometimes but not like i used to, and i refuse to take a pill no matter what these days which never used to be the case. I mixed xanax with tequila frequently and believe me thats a really bad idea. My beef with AA was that "we" justified our actions by saying we're alcoholic and thats just how we're wired. Like someone cuts you off in traffic and you flip them off.....its because I'm alcoholic and I do a 10th step inventory and move on. But what about people who can drink normally or don't drink at all? Whats their excuse (face it, thats what it is) for getting upset about something? They're human and its human nature to get upset about bad drivers some times. Sooooo...are alcoholics not humans? I did a lot contemplating that and even talked to my sponsor about it but just got the normal party line "thats just your alcoholic brain thinking that" and decided I was ready to venture back out into the real world. I don't regret it, I do hate hangovers, i dont take pills any more, and i needed that time to figure a lot of shit out. I actually think I drink normally now, like I'll have one beer with dinner at a restaurant and a sixer lasts me a couple weeks and can barely stand hard liquor. I get way more out of smoking a bowl than i do drinking nowadays.

Good for you! Getting drunk from time to time isn't a problem, living drunk is. It slowly destroys your life. Never let that happen.

Preferably a toker as well. Drinking is disgusting. I did it alot. It sucked.

Yeah, alcohol is horrible. I hate it. That said I started drinking lately because it affects me differently at the moment, I get no hangovers, I am hungrier than ever, been gaining weight, I wake up to eat and exercise which was not the case prior to it. That, and got some serious issues to get through. I will stop though, it is just that phase, probably gonna last a month only.

I drink.. 30 years is a long time.. sadly a half gallon a day doesn't cover up or fix anything.. that's a fact... the one or two things it does do ... easier not to gaf... only for the moment... alone mentally

Everyone says im a alcoholic but like Scott Weiland i only use alcohol to intensify the good stuff. 26 years of slow suicide and im doing now after multiple OD's. Dionysus just lives in some of us
