beyond, well. It’s not that bad. Smell it once in a while. But never had any conflict. It’s like I hear about Chinese people pooping all over the street in Hong Kong. Does it happen all the time? Just occasionally.....
We moved to Canada about 18 years ago from Guangzhou. I used to be a mechanical engineer and my wife was a junior office clerk with two years post graduate education. Now, I work as a civil engineer for government and my wife work as accounting manager for a big IT company. We came to Canada in our 30s. Life in Canada is much easier than Hong Kong or Guangzhou, especially in inner land cities. Plenty of opportunity if you speak good English. My wife barely spoke English when she first came, Now she is a Chartered Accountant. Government pay most of our educations for us. We even keep saving money when we attend university.

Just curious , since you mentioned your mainland origin, why don't you write the comment in Chinese writing? Thanks.

@Sze Tsun My job there was pretty decent too. Thx for sharing!
I am from Sydney for over 20 years, come to Sydney la Melbourne is too cold, Brisbane is too racist but ok weather. Canada is very similar to Australia , but too cold. Happy to show you around if you guys ended up here.
This is how I interpret what you are trying to tell your audience: The sky isn't your limit but your vision is. Hong Kong people can always overcome challengings and starting a new journey no matter where you go as long as you are willing to put up effort and upfront investment.

What makes hong kongers feel they are smarter than others?

Kok Leong Chee Because they are, look at the development of HK over the years from 1960-2016. A global financial center, relatively corruption free place. Better than Malaysia.

@@cheekl : HK people do not feel more smarter than others.. but we are just basing it comparatively... Sorry, but HK used to be a farmland. Even my mother's generation we were still farming. There is nothing wrong with this new generation feeling so sad and hopeless about the future. For what reasons ? I do not know. I do think that travelling to see another country and to be independent is a growing up and mature thing to do. I do encourage this.

My English was horrible when I landed US-NYC. My English is still not perfect after working at Wall Street 20+ years. However, I have full confidence to talk to anyone including any CEO(s) or President if I have the opportunities. I came from Hong Kong as well.

What is the secret of being confidence to speak english , especially when you know you didnt speak it perfectly ? Could you share with us please ? Cuz i barely have guts to speak out loud in front of local foreigners

@@nancywong9454 : I think they accept her, maybe because she has worked in the same industry before ? Or maybe in the same company and has been seconded. But the other thing is.. in foreign countries.. it is illegal to be horrible or to be nasty towards you. Same with the mainland china as well. I have seen a lot of youtube blog, hiring white people for very weird "advertising jobs". As in, the naked kind. And this kind of thing is being clamped down in the mainland. Cos they are seen as a guest to the country. Cos you do not know the language and is set back... This is why most countries make their laws to be extra super nice... I think this is quite fair...
