Thank you for this review Steve. I need the compact size in order to add a shower to my half bath and I don’t mind the slow drying time.

Thank you Steve. While I don't need a stacking set, I'm thankful to know the information so I can share with friends.

1st comment again!… Thanks for this review. Ironically I’ve be considering this for a few studio apartment condos I own that are airbnb rentals, to replace now-15-year-old 24” compact laundry centers, as the width of the closet door jambs won’t fit a 27”-wide WashTower, although I do have 240V power and a dryer vent inside already. Your review answered an important question-time to dry a load in the heat pump dryer. As a result, this won’t work for me because my cleaner wouldn’t have enough time to wait for the laundry to dry vs. the laundry center’s traditional vented dryer that is dramatically faster. I really wish LG would just make a compact version of the WashTower with a standard-not heat pump-electric vented dryer, especially one that used just one 240V plug instead of a separate 120V and 240V plug. If they did, it would be the ideal replacement for all compact traditional laundry center units that are in probably hundreds of thousands of small apartments and condos nationwide.

GE has a compact vented...

I have an LG refrigerator that has been bulletproof for the last 14 years. I love their products but once again you bring up the best point in that service ability which scares me from buying any future LG products they really need to establish some service around the country, but would be even better is if Yale would open a store in Las Vegas I believe we’ve had this discussion in the past come on guys don’t worry about that 114° heat out here you get used to it

I know...its a dry heat :). Maybe one day my successor will...but I am a bit old for that type of expansion.

Thank you Steve, between LG Compact WashTower and Miele washer dryer, size and price aside, which one should I buy? Miele seems to be more gentle on the cloths but takes much longer to wash, and difficult/expensive to fix if it breaks down. Is it really the best washer dryer?
@YaleAppliance15 ай бұрын
Miele is the best....best features that actually matter. Like the WashTower but its too deep. The again, it depends on what you wash and your space

@@YaleAppliance1 Thanks, I forgot to mention that I am living in China, I was comparing the Compact LG WashTower 2.4 cu. ft. washer and 4.2 cu. ft dryer to the Miele combo, so space wasn't an issue. Plus the LG Compact costs one-third of the price of the Miele combo here in China.

I have this exact unit and it doesn’t take anywhere near 3.5 hours to dry things.

I live in the 6th floor in an apartment, does it vibrate and make noise on this machine. Because my neighbor she complained a lot when I had Samsung washer. What do recommend for washer and dryer that is less noise and less vibration.

So you still need 30 inch clearance for the the compact 26inch depth model ? I was assuming you wouldn’t need the 4 inch of clearance since there is no venting ?

I am seriously considering purchasing the LG washtower with the heat pump dryer. My concern is that excess lint escaping from the filter will in time ruin the heat pump.
@YaleAppliance15 ай бұрын
Dont think that will be as much of an issue. Washer takes some. The lint filter in the dryer should take care of the rest

I’m looking to replace the GE combo but can only fit a stack or tower. What Miele is recommend ? I bought a new lg washtower it came severely dented 3x so I don’t trust the quality personally
@YaleAppliance13 ай бұрын
Dont trust the people handling it....We do not have issues with that product. With Miele it depends on what features...the basic one is decent. Then you add auto dispensers and other modes.

Would you recomend we buy the LG Washtower or the LG 24 in. W 2.4 Cu. Ft. Compact Stackable washer and dryer separately to fit into our space that is only 30" deep? we are moving the laundry from one side of the mud room to the other about 5' and would also need to move the venting if we do the separates.

Personally, I would buy the two separate units. That's what I own. This way, in case one of the units breaks, you are not out your entire investment. You will also save a couple of hundred dollars as well, especially since when purchasing the two units, the stacking kit is included. The height is not much of an issue, because compact units tend to be a bit shorter. Then again, I'm nearly 6'tall. As for lint, despite the dryers condenser being "self cleaning" the unit tends to accumulate lint. Not to worry. Every three months or so, you can run a manual clean condenser cycle for the dryer, which seems to do a good job getting rid of the lint.

Where does the lint go in a ventless dryer? Seems like it would be all over the clothes since you said you’d never have to clean a vent again. I always assumed that the lint filter at the dryer would still be there and need to be cleaned, it just wouldn’t have a pipe to outside. But after hearing you’re comments I’m not sure.

lint filter...also the washer takes care of some as well.
