I have the 6700 model 5.0 cuft version and matching dryer. Night and day difference from a Samsung W/D which sounded like an turbo jet taking off even with the laundry door closed. Dryer drum cracked within 4 years which is known issue. This LG is so quiet, half the time I dont realize it is on and the phone notifications help remind my family when clothes are done.

Do you still like the 6700 washer? Any issues?

Honestly, the only thing I'm interested in is reliability. I could care less how many different wash cycles it has, I only use cold/cold. I've had my Maytag Washer for over 20 years (23 I think) and have not had one problem. Love your videos!

Thats interesting because currently LG is literally ranked #1 in reliability (consumer reports) in every single laundry category!

Not in my house. Its overly complex. Frequently shuts itself off because of some issue with water or balance. The op has it dead on. Just get a simple washer. Probably next time I will get one of the commercial ones used in laundromats. Easy to repair, lots of parts and people to work on them.@@Boltbacker83

I agree. I purchased a LG and truly disappointed in the results. I won’t recommend.

Just an FYI the turbowash uses less water and less detergent and uses a fast rubbing motion to clean the clothes. I am noticing a lot more lint in my dryer after purchasing the LG 6500 machine which I have had for almost a year. I did not replace the dryer just the washer and washing the same clothes as before yet there is so much lint now in the dryer. The first time I cleaned the lint filter on the LG6500 washer I notice there was very little lint and debri in the filter of the washer unlike the amount I use to clean out of my Samsung washer filter. I am also noticing lint sticking out of the turbospray ports on the LG washer so this is also a clue that the washer is not filtering the water. I would prefer the standard wash cycle that they say uses uses more water and soap and slower agitation motion so that I know my clothes are getting clean. After finding this out, I have turned off the turbowash feature on my LG. and have noticed a big different in the lint amount and I feel my clothes are a lot cleaner. Before I was noticing that the soap was not getting out of clothes.

I've got the LG WM6700 on order and have a large enough space for it, but I still like the shallower depth of the 5500. My guess is that LG will add automatic dispensing to the slightly smaller machine, making it perfect. Btw, your online description of the WM5500 washer says that it DOES have automatic dispensing.

Just got one. It has a 4 tray dispenser, not ezDispense.

The 5700 is essentially the same as the 5500, but it has auto dispense.

We have owned this model for six months and it leaves every single wash smelling like mildew. We have run the tub clean mode with tablets back to back (2x), cleaned out the rubber gasket in the front, left the door open between washes, and have drained it from the bottom manually but it still leaves our clothes smelling bad. When we called LG warranty support, we were told that we have to clean the manual clean out at the bottom every other wash which sounds outrageous. I'm thinking we ought to return the unit to Costco and buy a different model.

3:25 You failed to mention the 5500 has smart sync so you don't have to reach the upper controls. The LG app also allows you to access the machine.

When this unit to good for second floor. I recently got the Wash Tower, amazing clean and dry job. Unfortunately, It Shook my floor for low ans high spine, also very loud during spine. Im looking to get this one, any recommendations? Thank you for the informational video, helps.

I just purchased the LG3400 with direct drive, it’s very quiet even on the spin cycle. To be honest the highest spin cycle I have used is the medium, I usually use the low, and it does a great job, but I don’t overfill it with clothes, mine had to be stacked, so far I am loving it. I’m on the second floor my downstairs neighbor is about 38 years old he has no job, his parents support him, no girlfriend and no friends a true man-child so all he does is stay home and when I come outside he gives me dirty looks because I walk around the apartment, and he really goes crazy if I bring my girlfriend, but as long he keeps his hands to himself he won’t be arrested.

2:06 The 4.5 has the tray dispenser. Kinda sounds like you are saying you have to jump to the 5.0 for the dispenser.

Lots of reviews saying the GE All in one fails either cost as much as a regular unit to repair or the parts are back ordered 6month.

There is a 4.5 cu ft with the automatic detergent dispenser. WM5700HVA and it’s not that much more (maybe $50 at one point). Don’t have to go to the 6700 at any rate and pay for the extra size just for the dispenser.

TOO MUCH TO CONSIDER!!! I've been researching front load washers/dryers for almost 1 week now, since our Whirlpool Duet (which I LOVED) would not start and turns out the mother board was fried --- not worth fixing a 12 yr old washer, so I started consider another Whirlpool (couldn't buy anoether Duet b/c they've been discontinued!). Then LG. Then GE (which we have all kitchen appliances GE Profile). But so many pros/cons on each brand. I do not want WiFi (our high end slide in convection/induction range has it and I opted not to activate it, and I'm happy!), prefer NO steam, and NO large detergent dispenser. I had that with the DW and the detergent starts to "gum up" and get nasty after a while. Back to the think-tank, and hopefully have a decision by this afternoon....
@shellyf39013 ай бұрын
Totally agree with you on the feature where you pour in a bottle of soap and the machine dispenses it. Once the soap is exposed to air, it gets gummy and it will clog the nozzles.

Noise.. these washers trade off efficiency for time. So getting one that has a quiet drying cycle is important as the drying can take hours. Saying how quiet its wash and spin cycles are isn't so smart because those are short in duration. But the dry cycle is long.. therefore noise during drying is important. Whirlpool have a combo that dries in 17-22dB. So start to review these on the longest part not just the loudest.

LG is now unreliable. LG used to be a great brand because it "was" reliable. The LG washer dryers break and stop drying clothes, with observable decrease in performance over time meaning they don't wash as well as they do when new and get worse the older they get. I think this is planned obsolescence so don't expect to get more than 3 years out of them. I have two LG front loaders in my house and have experienced problems with both, one is completely broken and flooded my laundry. At over $1000 each, buyer beware.

Pretty sad when average 9.5% washers need repair in the first year. Not saying much about quality.
