The Yamaha CLP-795GP is an amazing piano, and I cannot decide between it and the upright Yamaha CLP-785. Either way, Chris Hammond is a genius at presentation. Chris, you are a most intelligent, sensitive and insightful pianist and salesperson, and were I living in the UK I would gladly consult with you and hand over the credit card. Thank you for your videos and your grace at the keyboard(s).

I love how you took time to hear the chords carefully. This is what I wanted to hear in a piano review. I hate when people just play like pros.... all over the place and they don't let you feel the instrument. This is the Piano I'm buying. Thanks a lot

Your 2 extensive videos on this incredible piano are pretty fantastic. I hope to get one of these in 2022. Thanks for the vids.

Superb & insightful demo! The "space between the notes" ... do the job! Thank you so much!

I want to see a comparison between the this and the avant grand n3x(touch and sound). I wish Yamaha could bring the TRS to the newer version of the 795.

Ive just ordered one of these. Excellent seeing such a great demo! Thank you!

I love this video, it clips on the louder notes making it difficult to capture the fullness of the sound though

Thanks. It's incredible how DP has improved over the years (you have to pay for it, of course). What's the name of the first song? Or it's just improvisation? Lovely tune.

Thanks, Francisco. You're right, the technology has really moved on recently. This model was a joy to play for the video. The first piece (most of them actually) are improvised. They're all fairly sparse because I wanted to give the notes space to breathe a little. Glad you liked - Chris

Buongiorno, può dirmi se il suono è registrato in linea diretta o con microfoni ambientali?

Is there any difference in action and sound generation between this and the CLP 785 ? And one more question: Do you feel that when releasing the keys without using the sustain pedal or releasing the pedal after a short moment, the complete sound including all cabinet resonances is stopping more abruptly than on an acoustic, or is this decay sequence simulated sufficiently well?
@garrettguin42212 жыл бұрын
The only difference between the CLP-785 and the CLP-795GP is the cabinet shape. All the specs are the same
@GiovanniBausC2 жыл бұрын
@@garrettguin4221 Thank you! Recently we compared the CLP 745 and 775 in a store but didn‘t try the 785 because we assumed it to have the same sound generation (except for additional voices). After listening to this video and Booth#6 however, it appears there is a substantial difference between the 775 and 785.

How would you compare it in term of sound quanlity vs a real acoustic one. which range of acoustic pianos is closest to this electronic piano?

What was that first song you played in this video? It was really nice.

I own and like very much the 795gp, but am considering trading it for one of the hybrids - Yamaha Nx1 or Kawaii NV5S possibly NV10S. I understand that the hybrid action would be better. But is the sound much improved on the hybrids?

It's just a little bit of improvisation in D

Love the sound quality, forget hybrid piano. Does it need to warm up? Can it bluetooth to PC, VST plug-in?

May I know the title of the song you play from 3.04 till 4.20?

At that point, I was just improvising in D. I think it was D - Bm - Gmaj7. Hope that helps!

NO.... Not the spaces between the notes, it is the connection to the instrument from you and the way you play. I am sold on the Yamaha Baby Grand, I will buy one and hope and pray, one day to be able have the connection, skill and feeling you have for the music. Thank. you so much.

The gap between great acoustic pianos and great digital pianos is getting smaller and smaller over time!

It sure is, Brian. The tech is improving fast. You might like to see the video Chris made on the Yamaha CLP785 too. Here it is: www.epianos.co.uk/tv/the-booth-6-yamaha-clp785-digital-piano/
