I purchased two (2) Yamaha EF2200is Inventor generators to use while camping. This video has my thoughts and initial setup and startup of the units.
Why did I go with Yamaha EF2200is:
1) Quality & Reliability
2) RV ready 30 amp plug on the unit
3) Weight - I can carry each unit by myself. They are under 50 lbs each.
4) Wattage - 1800 running watts each (3600 total)
5) Price - Cheaper than Honda while still getting top quality and reliability offered by Yamaha
Purchased from - National Supply - www.yamahagene...

After much debate and comparisons I went with the Yam 2200. Totally pleased with it.

Well done on a great video on the Yamaha EF2200is . My suggestion as a fellow EF series generator owner is to change out that initial oil fill as soon as possible. My reasoning behind this is these engines do not have a disposable oil filter attached to them. I purchased a EF2400is a good few years ago and I did my first oil change at 30min run time. It might sound crazy to change the oil so soon but im glad I did as the first batch of oil to come out had a definate pearlescent shimmer to it which is indicative of the engine breaking in and shedding metalic particles which is to be expected, but you dont want these bits lingering around inside the engine any longer than necessary. The second oil change was performed at 3 hours run time and the metalic particles were no longer visible to the naked eye. I performed another oil change at the 10 hour mark just to be 100% sure. Its cheap insurance in any case ! My genny is now sitting at well over 1500 hrs total run time (Compliments to the South African goverment for being unable to keep the lights on 24/7) and still starts and runs like the day I purchased it. They are truly bulletproof if given the right TLC.

Good recommendations. I need to get on that. It's been a great unit so far and I want it to continue to be for many more years. I hope to have more camping related videos up soon. Thanks for watching.

New sub. Just got our first rv and started looking for generators. Must be something about blue, even the generator is blue that Im looking at. Blue Tahoe, Shadow Cruiser RV, blue grill, blue cooler, etc. Anyway, nice job on the video. Can’t wait to get the family outside and away. This will make it much better for those moments when there’s no power, or off grid for vacation.

WHY DOES IT NOT MATTER ABOUT THE PARALLEL PLUGS BEING PLUGGED INTO OPPOSITE RECEPTACLES? AND DO YOU USE A GROUND WIRE WITH THE CONNECTING GROUND TERMINALS?

It does not matter. I just thought some might wonder how to plug them in so I wanted to note it does not matter.

Very few reviews for this, it seems loud, have you compared it to anything else? I’m torn between this and the predator 3500.

I have not done any formal comparison bit when walking around other campsite it seems right there with other units. It's very quiet in ECO mode.

Not as quiet as you think. Definitely louder than the EF2000 or a Honda Eu2200. Not terribly loud, but it runs at a much higher RPM than other inverters. If the EU2200 is jogging, then the Ef2200 is sprinting Soundwise, I would compare it ito the EF2800 or one of those Honda open frame inverters. The EB3000 of whatever it's called.

It provides more power (Watts) for 60 seconds without overloading the unit and faulting.

I considered your advice and decided to sell my generators and camper. This will be my last post as I plan to live my life naked and afraid!

can 1 of this unit be good enough for a 20cu size fridge i believe fridges and ACs do heavy surges?
