yamaha fz1 shoots flames on dyno

2009 fz1 on the dyno, made 134hp, power commander 3, k&n filter, modded airbox, decatted header pipe with slip on muffler.

A bit weak In my opinion with this set up, I'll do mine soon with flashed ECU ,decatted header pipe + Akra carbon slip on+AIS deleted + Kn +new mapping I'll expect not less that 145 whp ...

its all it made, it never got anywhere near what guys in the usa claimed the mods would give. i guess different dyno, different climate = different results.

I remember my 06 FZ1 I had shortys on it and MAN she would shoot flames in 2nd and was obviously loud, sound exactly the same. I remember one night I was leaving a gas station at like 11:40 the middle of the night was at a gas station just filled up and a cop pulls in I shut the bike off when I saw him coming to the pumps on the other side of me, he gets out of his car and walks past to go inside I'm just waiting for trouble, but nope he just goes inside to do his business and I took that as my que to leave. Shoulda seen my happy ass flinstoning the bike down the road. Decided it was best to push it down the road and then start it so he couldn't hear it (yes it was that loud lol.) bet I look like a crack head that just stole someone's bike.

Which mods to do for maximum performance other than exhaust and airbox?

i would suggest a power commander and dyno tune, one of the best mods for excitement and acceleration was a quick shifter

You want the mods for “maximum power” besides literally the two most basic modifications? 😂 the answer is essentially *everything* else besides airbox and exhaust for “maximum performance” including turbo, nitrous, forged lc compression pistons etc etc etc etc……

@@TheKniperlight ugliest bike out there 😬 🤷🏼‍♂️ No offense, I dream of that engine and think it’s the perfect bike for me… except the looks. It’s so gross it’s prohibitive. Instead I chose to fully mod my 2nd gen fz1, all bolt ons, maps, exhaust etc and have about 80% saved in my frivolous purchases fund for the TTS supercharger, 200whp. About to convert it to the naked variant too. It’s personal preference but I think the Abarth FZ1n is a modern classic 😍 such a shame what direction their styling department took, the MT10 could have been a ‘contender 😕 instead it looks like a poorly placed Transformers™ Halloween mask, very little grace or fluidity to the form. 🤢 ϟkål my friend, ride safe!

Bro i have an 09 fz1n with a Remus shorty on it, the pops and bangs sound insane but no flames, how can i flametune it? For referene i am from pakistan and there is no dyno for bikes available anywhere near me.

does yours still have the catalytic converter in the pipe? if so drill or cut it out , thats what made mine flame

​@@jujigatame7820in general tune for cars and bike are bad if you add pops bang crackle or flame but decel pop crackle and flames are generally less damaging in my experience * I'm not a mechanic tho

Just 134 hp? It says 150 in the papers lol

that 134 is at the wheel, the 150hp on paper is at the engine crank, so there are some losses through the gearbox, chain and rear wheel

@@siknetman different tuner, engine wear. Not all dynoes read the same. Different altitute. Dyno is for compqring before and after and putting load on the bike while tuning.
