If you are just a squid that thinks going fast in a straight line is riding then not for you.

Yup. Definitely not for me. This thing hits the red line at 10.5k!!! WTF??? I want my Supersport screaming while I’m in 4th, shifting into 5th while I’m on the New Jersey turnpike or the LIE at 1am. Keep your torque and all your electronics. I know it will be helpful while making Uber Eats delivers in a jam packed city environment. But boring on a turnpike or expressway. The GSXR-750 is a traditional supersport. The R9 has positioned itself has a hybrid (sport // supersport) with about the same power as the gsxr-750 and more (modern) features than the gsxr-750. The GSXR-750 will be less torquey down low (relatively), but still the twitchy supersport everyone knows and loves at the top of the rev range with the same familiar 4 cylinder melody. The R9 will be a toruey-er street bike that packs a punch and is highly trackable. Ironically, the gsxr-750 and the yamaha r9 are most likely going to be opposite to what one would intuitively expect in terms of riding position. It is likely that r9 will have a more aggressive stance (seating position) and be more ready to more willingly lean over in the corners. I think the Yamaha positions itself as a good alternative to the gsxr-750, rather than a replacement to the R6, and a more powerful R7. The main question one has to ask themself is if one wants a more traditional supersport (gsxr600, zx-6r, cbr600, gsxr750, R1, cbr1000, etc.) or if one wants something in between - a hybrid - the R9.
