Great vid. Thanks for posting. I'd like to add that the retainer ring for the fuel sender on top of the fuel tank is also prone to corrosion damage on the FX. Make sure you treat that as well. After rinsing the interior and letting it air dry, I spray everything down with Fluid Film after the first ride of the season and then again at the end of the season. That's it. Its amazing stuff!

Good video, but you forgot to wash the salt water out the pump and ride plate. As for inside, I use "Fluid Film" BEFORE the skis go into salt water. That stuff is amazing, but a little pricey. It really coats well. It's not a petroleum product, it's lanolin based, so it's safe on rubber and plastic (silicone is too, just less sticky). I even use it on the outside of the ski around the pump area.

thanks for the tips , I had a 1996 waverunner , and I used silicon spray , I NEVER had 1 problem....I also spayed down t the jet ports on my ski....

this only applies when being used in saltwater but flushing the water out of the exhaust applies for both salt and freshwater

Nice routine maintenance video. Surprisingly not enough people follow this. Could you do a video on proper winterization procedures for TR1 and 1800 engines? ie lubrication, oil and filter change and internal engine fogging. I have seen some u tube videos that if people were to follow them... who knows if they would damage their engines. Thank You.

Best Video I've see yet! I haven't used silicone but I will go buy some tomorrow. The engine does sound like something is wrong with it but it's normal. I thought my engine was shot when I heard it. I always left a little water inside but I will now sponge it out but my 2007 looks brand new still. Newbies. Don't run the engine more than 15 seconds without water running through the engine or you will overheat it. You will ruin the engine if you leave salt water in it. A friend of mine destroyed his brand new Sea Doo Speed boat by not cleaning it after one or two years.

Very informative thanks, but my 2013 vx deluxe doesn't eject water from the side only around the jet unit at the back, only a few drips and hot air come out of the side is this normal ?

Running the ski out of the water doesn't bother the impeller at all. All driveline bearings are sealed and packed in grease. Just remember not to run the engine longer than 15 seconds with the hose turned off

I just got my new VX Deluxe. After I finished my first ride, I got it on the trailer, rode back home and started this process. But the moment I first turned the motor on, the WARNING light went off and started beeping on and off. Im scared =S (No, I did not turn the water on before turning on the garden hose). Should I be worried? Or its normal that it beeps and signals the warning light once you turn it on out of the water?

I put it back in the water to check if everything was working properly. Everything seemed to be ok, but the Warning light and beep was still there. I rode it for 5 minutes. Water was coming out from where it should, no strange engine noises, no performance loss, no overheating that I could notice. So I went to get my girlfriend to go for a ride. Turned it off, picked her up, fired it up again, no more warning or beeping! :D It went away! Was so relieved. I mean, it's a new machine. So I guess it was just something stuck or not flushed setting the engine alarm off.

HACHA GRANDE a light will be on the dash where it says L mode. Also check spark plugs and coils, those will also impact high rpm

No, you should wash with a soap that is made for salt water use if using in salt water. Then rinse again. I also like to rinse back by propeller and all around the underneath by the grate. Just dont spray back into exhaust depending on your ski. That pesky salt gets every where. but if they are out everyday that gets to be a lot of work.
