I bought a 2018 TW200 (brand new) for $3800 in February of 2018. Amazingly, I now have equity in a motorcycle. I never thought that would happen.

I bought a Hornet 600CBF with the intention to do upgrade my licenze. But then a found a TW for a nice price and guess what... sold the hornet and now I am a TW addicted. It so su fun to ride that once you try this iconic workhorse you fall in love with this tiny yamaha jewel...

Excellent video. I just got a 2021 TW200 a few weeks back. It’s been great so far. I like the fact that it is a fairly simple bike, not a lot to tear up. If I could find a used one close to me, I just might add a second one to the stable.

Thank you very much for your kind words and congrats on your t-dub. These are great bikes, I have yet to find someone who doesn't like riding mine, from kids, women and even very experienced riders. Such and fun and capable bike that is rock solid reliable.

Did they have on hand or did you have to wait? And what general area are you in if don't mind sharing. I'm looking to purchase first of next month but haven't called Billings dealers yet.

@@spartanchirho I’m in central Mississippi. I bought mine last October, and it just happened to be in stock the day I went to the bike shop. A couple of months later, I went to a different shop that had two 2021’s in stock at the beginning of the week. I went back later in the week and both had been sold. They definitely don’t hang around long.

Thank you for watching and your kind words. The steady camera is just my head and the much more steady shooting of my Sony action cams. I used the AS200v for this video, but hope to be able to upgrade to the 4k version sometime soon.

It seems to me that the wheels on the TW200 give it a big advantage over the bigger bikes, what do you think? Tw200 traction vs the Dr and vs the DRZ???
@advmedic76203 жыл бұрын
In most terrain that is absolutely true. The exceptions are ice, snow and slush, maybe some types of mud. But for most of us mortals, they deliver on making the TW one of the most stable, easy to ride and confidence inspiring bikes ever made. Thank you for commenting and watching.

@@advmedic7620 I am currently on a HondaCRF450X for the desert and a DR650 for everything else. The DR is great for everything except technical single track. I am considering adding the TW200 or the XT250 as a bike to fill this void. Your thoughts?
@advmedic76203 жыл бұрын
@@bigjj974 I would love a CRF450x, or even better the new RX model. I rode one early this year in Moab, fantastic bike. If I was making that decision I would steer clear of the XT250 or XT225. They are very reliable and well liked bikes, however, the suspension is kind of scary and I have found that they buckle under the pressure of technical or fast riding. If I were in your shoes, the TW200 is a good choice if you want something you can put anyone on, but if your looking for a highly capable and fun to ride 250 I would look at the WR250r, Kawi KLX250 / KLX300 or even the CRF250L all of which can be found for fairly cheap, or at least less than $4k and are much better, safer, and won't buck you off as much if you hit the harder trails. Now if money isn't a problem and you don't mind higher maintenance, the Beta RR 390 Race or the KTM 350 EXC-F are hands down the best trail and technical bikes I have ever ridden. But that is if your able to stomach the $12k to buy and set them up properly. Hope that helps. Really appreciate you supporting the channel.

@@advmedic7620 thanks man! I am in the market for tw 200. Paying cash like you said but probably going new bc I like colors of past 3 years. I have come across some 3 to 5k mileage bikes that I'm open to so was curious how long they last. I know they're solid but 15k plus is awesome. Thanks again
@advmedic76203 жыл бұрын
@@spartanchirho Just so you know I know of several people with older TW's, my brother included, that have large mileage on them. The largest I have heard of is 200k miles, but from what I understand, most of these bikes are needing some overhaul to the engine at 20k to 30k miles. But many stories of TW200's going 50k without any major work on them is very common. They are unbelievably reliable, and I would even suggest they are "un-killable", I have rebuilt a few, these were trashed beyond recognition and they are running great today. There are other bikes like this, but the TW is special as anyone can ride it, and it can go literally anywhere.

Great video & Congrats on a great score! It looks like you stumbled across a real winner. Especially with kick And electric. Niiice! Cleanup / Tuneup / Accessorizing did the trick. That TW should keep on going forever now. 3rd time's a charm right?! I'm officially on TW # 3 now, and couldn't be more stoked! As a teen, I had 2. 1 off-road-dedicated & 1 licensed, that I used to go everywhere on.. 1 sold, 1 was stolen, fast forward, I found the 'new' one.. 2013 [13 is my favorite #] Absolutely showroom mint, w/ only 47 original miles on the clock! Yuuup.. You read that right! I've been having an absolute blast getting it modded for adventuring, as well as breaking it in.. It hit 440mi after my last ride, so I figured I'd give er' a quick tune-up/oil-change. It's back in action and ready for more. I started riding at 13 and I'm 40 now.. I've been in the auto/cycle industry most of those years in between - in one way or another, and have owned/ridden countless bikes.. When it came time to grab one this year for my Coronageddon / Coronapocolypse bike, I knew that there could be only one.. And it was the TDub.. Damn these things are fun! After thinking about it, I've actually done a lot to mine already, so I'll have to sit down, and come up with an extensive list with brands/models/prices/links.. I'm sure that'll help other people get some ideas on how to burn $ on these bikes. haha I have 1 TW200 video on my channel - as of now: It's 2+ hours long [if people are bored] I'm from Central NY - but currently in Upstate NY, so I did a POV compilation vid of cruising around the towns here, as well as hitting up the Montezuma National Wildlife Reserve.. I do a lot of wildlife photography there, so figured I'd take the bike for a change.. **I pinned a list of time-stamps w/ descriptions to help people navigate the vid as well. Wow.. Mini-novel.. Sorry, I got lost in thought.. 🙂👍 Sam -

That is not actually a 2001. 2001 was the first year for a front disc brake and 1999 was the last year for a factory installed kick starter though many later models were retro fitted as the case is even to this day, able to accommodate a kick starter. 1987 was first year of production.
