It looks futuristic and retro at the same time. Very steampunk indeed.

Technically not a bad review, but the presenter was sending me to sleep. This is motorcycling,...where's the passion?
@whiterabbitt20025 жыл бұрын
I do not think it looks "Retro" at all, 'cept maybe for the round headlight, haha. But there is no doubt, IMO, that it is a excellent motorcycle for what it is. Though the radiator deos take away from its attractiveness, IMO. The radiator also adds to complications and cost if and when it needs to be replaced (along with the hoses, thermostat, fan, water pump, coolant). Also twin clocks would be an improvement as well. But then again water cooled bikes I am afraid are the future due to insane enviromental regulations. I own a 2016 Motto Guzzi V7II and a 2015 Harely Super Low 1200T. Love both of those bikes for what they are. Looking at getting a third bike to balance the two I have. Not sure of what yet, though I like the new Triumph Speed Twin (water cooled, sigh) and the new Motto Guzzi V85TT (not water cooled). Or posibly the Triumph Street Triple (water cooled, sigh). But both those two water cooled Triumphs designed their radiators into the bikes so as they are not really noticeable. just saying

Interesting review. What's the gearbox like? And you don't need the music. From a pom.
@dmandhelen8 жыл бұрын
1990 the gearbox is fab !!! Slipper clutch too ... !!!!very smooth but still chunky feel to it .. I've done 7000 miles in 6 months and loved every one of them !!!!! Great "do all" bike .. I commute 60 miles a day and then go for a blast at the weekends... and for both it's perfect... GET ONE 👌👌👌👌
@1990-t1j8 жыл бұрын
Chunky? As in noisy gear change?
@dmandhelen8 жыл бұрын
1990 no .. not at all .. as in strong ,quality feel ... like the sound of a sports bike .. not weak and insipid... if you can I'd recommend a test ride ... you'll love it .. and it has traction control.. which is good unless you love wheelies .. which ,without any effort , this bike loves doing ... it's simply great to ride ..😬

1990 wow !!!! I love your taste in bikes ... the MT 01 is sooooo gorgeous!!! So you'll be used to trying to get your head down on an intense naked bike .. I bet you've go strong neck muscles.. haha .... !! Well the XSR is a baby in comparison... but if you watch "Cagerontwowheels".. review of it .. you'll see it's no beginners bike ... it's probably a bit more daily usable than your other bikes and definitely lighter ... but I definitely think it'll keep you entertained!!!!!:-))

How does the suspension, throttle response, transmission compare to the mt-09?
@cycletorquedotcom7 жыл бұрын
Pretty similar on all counts - it's essentially the same bike in those respects. I don't think the 2016 MT-09 has a slipper clutch but I could be wrong. The 2017 MT-09 has been updated though so it now has the slipper clutch and a quickshifter

In every review i was looking at they told me how awesome the torque and power is and how the bike felt like it was more powerfull and i gotta say... i was destinctly underwhelmet when i testrode it. Maybe my expectations where too high but coming from a honda cb 600 hornet i expected the Mt 09 to pull like crazy and that just wasnt the case. Its handling is nice and super flickable. I ´prefer the XSR 900 over the MT 09 because of the seating position and looks.

i am Joe Salas of 4theriders dot com. the image you took from silodrome was paid-for work. it does not fall under "fair use". taking someone's image or video without first asking permission does NOT make it "fair use."
@nigelpaterson56035 жыл бұрын
So the staff member who put it together believed what he did falls under the category of Fair Use. We didn't simply steal the image, we gave you a credit. Cycle Torque has gone broke anyway, so what would you like me to do - take the video down? 78K views means it hasn't even paid for itself.
@4theriders5 жыл бұрын
@@nigelpaterson5603 no. Leave the video up. But for future reference, "fair use" NEVER applies to commercialized work, EVER. I've had COUNTLESS images and video stolen from me over the last decade+ as a professional photographer and videographer. "Photo credit" doesn't put food on my table.
@cycletorquedotcom5 жыл бұрын
@@4theriders It was used for comment: In its most general sense, a fair use is any copying of copyrighted material done for a limited and “transformative” purpose, such as to comment upon, criticize, or parody a copyrighted work. Such uses can be done without permission from the copyright owner. In other words, fair use is a defense against a claim of copyright infringement. If your use qualifies as a fair use, then it would not be considered an infringement. But I accept you're not happy with Cycle Torque using your work, and I won't do that again. I've also had countless images stolen, because people don't seem to value creative work (and I looked it up - the video in question has generated abut $40US in income). Good luck in the future.

@@4theriders cry harder ffs. Nobody even knows who you are
@4theriders4 жыл бұрын
@@joem13yearsago73 interesting point of view... It's okay to steal people's stuff if you think they're unknown? If you're in the track community in the western US, then we've crossed paths. I've had cover shots in RRW and other mags. Just because you don't know who I am doesn't mean it's cool to steal peoples' stuff. In fact, they credited me as "silodrome" ...which isn't even the right credit. My company is 4theriders I also make videos...long before KZbin existed, even. You've prolly seen at least 1 if you're involved in the track community.
