@@thejay8963 Yeah I know it was sarcasm. I ride a cbr600rr I'm just showing how dumb the OP was. First off the only people who seem to get uncomfortable and fatigued from riding a sport bike for 4-5 hours are generally out of shape and arent flexible. Secondly you can go site seeing, there are no special places where cruisers are allowed and sportbikes arent. Also it's on two wheels so yes its freeing.

ivan d ... For sports bikes, the regular go to is the Kawasaki Ninja (300 or 400), reliable and affordable, and you can get it used easily. If you want cruisers, you can’t go wrong with the Honda Rebel (500, the 300 is only good if you’ll only drive in the city), and the Kawasaki Vulcan S. Do your research and go to dealerships so you can sit on them and see which one is the most comfortable for you. If looking to get one used, shop around and try them out before pulling the trigger. Spend time watching videos to learn as much (yammie noob is great, fortnine is awesome, mcrider is like getting free training, revzilla has great info on gear - and please get gear, your brain is too valuable man). Good luck and enjoy the process! Be safe!

@mldYou could make the argument that sport tourers, adventure bikes, and touring cruisers like the GW make up the vast majority of iron butt riders. You're friends circle is made up of sportbike riders, of course you know more people who ride on sport bikes. I rode cross country from NV to FL in November on a Shadow. Saw GWs, Harleys, BMWs, and a wide variety of dual sports. Didn't see a single sport bike. No R6s, no CBRs, no ZX_Rs, nothing. I guess sport bikes are just for fair weather riding, who knows.

It’s like comparing apples to oranges. I have a kawasaki Vulcan 1700 and I love it. I also have a kz1100 and have ridden many sport bikes. Sport bikes are awesome but so are cruisers. I would love to get a sport bike and someday (hopefully soon) I will. But it would be for around town or for shorter rides. My Vulcan will always be my go to for long rides because with cruise control and how comfortable it is. I can kick my legs up and ride all day very comfortably. All bikes are awesome and I wish I could every kind of bike. Or atleast an adv, sportbike, and my Vulcan. I made a deal with my Vulcan once when I was in Kentucky that if it got me out of there I’d never sell it.

The irony when the big four ALL build more dirt bikes and cruisers than any sport bike
@primogaming69
@primogaming69 5 жыл бұрын
cos dirt bikes are way cheaper. law of supply and demand. 90% of earth's population is way beyond the "POOR CATEGORY". who can only afford a couple of 200cc-400cc dirtbikes, naked bikes, cruisers etc etc etc. you really can't consider a 400cc "SPORTBIKE-LOOK" as a sport bike. have you seen a ferrari look alike that runs like a prius? course not. so in retrospect, 900++++ bikes are the ones considered as sports bike which MAJORITY of humans on earth CAN"T AFFORD thus leading to a conclusion why bike companies create more cheaper set of bikes than SPORTS BIKES. it's a waste of investment if they mass produce the so-called-SPORTSBIKE. by the way, it's a very simple logic.

Wrong the sportbike category is larger than you thank. Had you said supersport category sure... You have the following: Standard Naked Sport touring Cafe racers Put those four classes together and cruiser market and dirtbikes are about the same. Secondly, the big four primarily moves sportbikes more than cruisers. Why? The 250-650cc bikes move more than the big engine cruisers from the big four... hence why none of their cruisers haven’t seen any major updates throughout the big four

The sound and looks points are down to personal preference. As for customisation sure sport bikes can have their fairings removed but dont compare them to cruisers for customisation
@LawlessNate
@LawlessNate 5 жыл бұрын
1: Performance Holding it against cruisers that they're trying to be cruisers rather than race bikes is just obnoxious. They are two different styles of motorcycles built for two different purposes. This is basically just you stating "Sport bikes are better than cruisers because sport bikes are sport bikes not cruisers."; you're basically just restating the concept "sport bikes vs cruisers" and somehow counting that against cruisers. 2: Reliability I wouldn't say cruisers are universally or inherently less reliable than sport bikes. A well made cruiser will be infinitely more reliable than a poorly made sport bike and vice versa. Harley's evolution engine, as an example, is like a Toyota Carola in the sense that so long as you change the oil and other fluids it will just keep on going without issue. 3: Aesthetics First off, this is very subjective. Secondly, I'm willing to bet if you asked the majority of people who are not into motorcycles which motorcycle looks better, a generic sport bike or a generic chromed out cruiser, that the majority of non-motorcycle-people would say the cruiser looks better. Sport bikes look really cool and all, but a lot of what is to be appreciated about their appearance is specific to people who are really into motorcycles. Cruisers, on the other hand, have been baked into popular culture so much that even non-motorcycle-people can appreciate the looks of cruisers. Finally, the "I can take off the plastic parts to get a different loot, therefore there is more possibility for changing the appearance of my sport bike more than your cruiser!" is flat out wrong. You have significantly more options to change the appearance of a Harley than you do with any sport bike. 4: Practicality Cruisers win in practicality hands down; it's not even a competition. Doing will on the track, or going to it in the first place for that matter, is not practical. Both a sport bike and a cruiser will get you from point A to point B, but not being able to go more than an hour or so without riding starting to become uncomfortable/painful makes sport bikes less practical than a cruiser where that's not a problem. That, and there are a million and one different storage options that can be added to a cruiser so that you're not limited to what you can bring in your pockets and in a backpack like on a sports bike. 5: Variety in Engine sounds. To suggest that the different variety of sport bike sounds is superior to a v-twin's rumble is subjective. Also, this is another case where I think the majority of non-motorcycle people-would appreciate the cruiser more than a sport bike as they (cruisers) have already been baked into popular culture.

Personally I'll always prefer a cruiser. Riding laid back along the road with the powerful roar of a V-twin gives me feeling no sport bike has ever replicated. Plus turning on your engine (engines if you're with a group) and making heads turn, maybe setting off a few old car alarms makes you feel cool af (yes I'm mentally 13).

Five reasons sports bikes are the worst bikes. 1. Insurance. A man or woman should know their limitations. 2. The handling sucks on anything but perfect roads. 3. Power. Most will never be able to utilize the power of anything over 600cc. 4. Tickets. “Officer, I was only in first.” “Yea, but I clocked you at a hundred.” 5. Riding position. Your wrists will eventually become arthritic. At 20 to 30 you won’t notice a thing, wait until you are 60. There are more, but it is all good.
