Yeah Stolas is written to be a hypocrite and oblivious of the deep issues with their relationship. Unless you have an issue with shows portraying flawed characters, I wouldn't drop the show over that. Don't confuse the writers clearly depicting Stolas' flaws with the writers agreeing with him. The ending scene is very very good but the last bit of it falls so hard on its face in having Stolas literally victimize himself as a response to Blitz literally spelling it out for him on how SHIT Stolas has been treating him for like a year!! Like yes Blitz has fucked up but in comparison to Stolas, Stolas HAS WAY more to apologize and atone for. His horrendous behavior is objectively worse because he’s the one in power and he’s the one who started the deal in the first place. Viv clearly stated that there's also major issues with Stolas' behavior. The writers are clearly portraying Stolas as flawed. People get hung up on Stolas crying with sad music in the background and immediately think "the show wants us to think Stolas can do no wrong and you always have to be sympathetic to him". Obviously it's so much more nuanced than that. People who are bad can also cry.

What My problem is what is the point of the narrative acknowledging that Stolas is well enough aware of how much he’s been hurting Blitz all this time but when Blitz finally got to say his piece of the discussion he’s almost immediately shut down and kicked out? Why should we as the audience believe that Stolas truly thinks highly of blitz and respects him as a individual when 90% of their screentime has been Stolas demeaning and fetishizing Blitz? Why should Blitz be framed in the wrong and APOLOGIZE for defending himself against his abuser? For being coerced into a relationship he never actually wanted and even if he eventually learned to accept and make the best of these less than fortunate circumstances, that still doesn’t make it any less NOT okay? Stolas has been literally told the same thing before in a much NICER way from Blitz back in Ozzies, and Stolas still somehow comes to the conclusion that it’s BLITZ who always makes it about sex when it’s literally the other way around. Stolas assumes what is best for Blitz, never actually asking him what he wants, and gets pissy for being told off despite the fact that everything that was said about him is TRUE. Stolas cries because Blitz was being cruel when that couldn’t be further from the truth. Viv absolutely cannot seriously insist that they’re BOTH wrong when they’re consistently portrayed as NOT equals throughout the show and within its themes. Stolas will always hold immeasurable power over Blitz, Blitz will always have to submit to his wishes, even if that’s not Viv’s intention, the uncomfortable power dynamic just there and it cannot be ignored. And it’s dangerous and irresponsible to imply that Blitz should be held just as accountable as Stolas and fans wonder why so many people are uncomfortable and furious by the writing decisions.

Watching the show, I've always seen Stolas presented as deeply flawed and called out as bad whenever he truly is. Of course there's plenty of times where he's portayed as sympathetic, but generally I find those to be justified (e.g. him being abused by Stella/him being misled by Blitz). Just to be clear I'm not saying your way of interpreting things is "wrong" just because I don't agree with it. If anything your perspective is more valid since more people share it. My personal take is that people take the scenes where Stolas is narratively justified for being portrayed as sympathetic, and project that onto the instances where there's genuine issues with his behavior, as if both can't coexist. I think it should be possible for us to simultaneously recognize Stolas portrayed as delusional/manipulative towards Blitz and sad/sympathetic in his contending with abuse/being emotionally taken advantage of.

The argument between Blitzo and Stolas was written very wrong for me, like it felt it was trying to victim blame Blitzo for…*Sigh*…for making Stolas cry because he called him out on their relationship between them, i think he was trying to blossom an genuine relationship but he felt like a Big Hypocrite. It should’ve been the comeback of the cherubs, like the Mecha suits were badass (Wish Loona had her own mecha suit and wish they had more of angelic exterminator appearance though) where they try to break Into Asmodeus’s place to get the crystals for the Dhorks, where The I.M.P vists Fizzaroli for some items for Stolas, and Fizzaroli tells Blitzo about the lore about asmodeus crystals when explains the times in the store, then Boom battle breaks out, then the day is saved, and we need a Hint what the Dhorks are planning, while we get a hint for Stolas ending the relationship and giving the crystal to Blitzo, anyways thanks for the yapping!

I’m actually gonna go out on a limb and say that Cherubs is my favorite episode of the series. Mainly for one major reason. The original concept of Helluva Boss (at least as far as I understand) was a fun comedy with the rag tag assassin team from hell who are killing targets who were ordered to be killed by sinners. CHERUBS is my favorite episode because it’s the episode that, I feel, is able to show the most of what you can do with the concept. You have the disguises, and the fact that the target is an old rich inventor. If the show had remained as an episodic comedy show (or had saved the drama for later, tho I personally would prefer it to stay as a comedy) There is a ton of potential, with what kind of target they get. Maybe they get possibly an occultist who already worships demons and possibly is flattered that he is going to be killed by these demons? Or possibly they have to kill a famous politician? There’s potential with that. And on top of that, the introduction of the CHERUBS, you now have reoccurring antagonists you could use. The only change I’d make is have them not get kicked out of heaven. Now there are potential stories you could tell with them. Remember the occultist idea? Maybe you could have The Cherubs and IMP run into a moral conflict, where the Cherubs argue “Thou Shalt Not Kill” but IMP argue that the guy is an occultist who maybe sacrifices people or something. Maybe even have a funny scene like this. (Context: Cherubs stopped IMP from murdering the guy when he’s about to give a speech.) Cletus: You can’t kill him! Takin’ a life is just as bad as takin’ a dozen lives! Doesn’t matter who it is, it’s still murder! Keenie: Yeah, it’s unholy! Moxxie: (looking at something on his phone.) Uhm, sir? I think you should see this. (A video was playing. The occultist was on a stage, holding a saber.) Occultist: Bring out the sacrifices! (18 people with bags over their heads are brought out, each line up so that there are 3 rows, six in each. They are all told to bend down on their knees. The occultist then kills them, one at a time.) Cletus: (in utter shock.) Oh my… Keenie: (covers her eyes.) I can’t watch! Collin: (clutches his stomach.) I feel nauseous! (He throws up offscreen.) Blitzø: (feeling very smug.) hey, remember that crack ya made about how offing one nasty son of a bitch is just as bad as killing a dozen of ‘em? Well, look at how many people are fuckin’ dying because o’ what ya did. Don’t wanna say I Told ya so, but uhh…Told ya so! (IMP leave to kill the guy.) Collin: (contemplating about how they were the ones who saved that guy.) What are the repercussions of what we’ve just done? I feel filthy! Sorry for the long comment!

Nah it really isn't like how is it getting wore? And the focu on Stolitz isn't that bad really and they didn't retcon Stolas into a more soft character he is still the same character, and he is held accountable for the bad things he does.

They outlined blitzo’s problem in truth seekers during his acid trip. That he can’t fathom/understand proper intimacy but also wants it. So it manifests in stuff like spending a day fighting his exgirlfiend for a parking spot, his overprotectiveness of Luna, and how much he interrupted moxie and Millie’s happy couple shenanigans. The problem is all of this is exclusive to s1. Had s2 bothered to even have one episode or even scene where Stolas attempted to make it not about sex, to have a moment or a day together, and Blitzo completely misinterprets is, then I could see Stolas at least making sense with his diatribe at the end.

Wrt Stella specifically, it bothers me so much how intentionally demonized she is when is reality she is literally just the royal breeding machine. She is rightfully frustrated and struggling to find power where there is literally none. Yes Stolas is sort of in the same scenario, but he at least has full power in his throne. I don’t really like comparing Stella to Blitz cause that just fuels people into victim blaming Blitz. He was almost gonna be killed when he made the deal for the book with Stolas- and so no Blitz didn’t force Stolas into anything in fact it was the opposite. All Stolas had ever done has been dubiously getting s3x out of blitz. Stolas deserves to get yelled at. Just because Stella yells at him is no excuse to baby him and then sh1t on his victim lol. The thing with DHORKS that's always confused me is....why would it be bad FOR DEMONS if humans learned about hell? Sure it'd absolutely change the structure of the human world, but how would it change things in hell? It's not like humans would go all doomslayer on them- even if they tried we've established demons can't be killed by human weapons and I don't think that heaven would be willing to work with them considering how Adam acts. The show builds up a big threat of humans finding out about demons, but I can't think of a reason it'd be an actual threat to the demons.

I like to think that, by learning about hell, less people will be prone to sin. If less people sin, less people go to hell, and if less people go to hell, its economy gets weaker. It would be nice if It was actually shown though 😭

I’m very glad how much this episode actually progressed the plot, dorks and cherub coming back and Stolas admitting he’s been possessive were all things I’ve been wanting for ages. I think that if the dialogue at the start just felt a little more natural, and Blitzo’s horniness was just toned down, this would genuinely be the best episode so far.

I really did like Blitz going off at Stolas at the end but I hate how everyone only talks about the stupid Stolas line lmao. Also I agree that having characters like the Dhorks agents show up more with minor roles would be great. They even showed that they’re capable of doing that this episode since Fizz showed up for a scene so I don’t see why they haven’t done this with other characters outside of the main cast.

Imo it would've cut a lot of unnecessary time if we saw Cherubs get grabbed by DHORKS, funding, (maybe the suits but i think we can see them in the bg) and then explanation of "we made a portal to hell but it's only two feet tall and wide" and but that's all so for the rest of the episode we switch between blitzo and moxxie milllie and loona following him and then cherubs showing up bc it it'd be kinda funny to spend time questioning if all these ppl we see might be cherubs or if IMP is cherubs in disguise building up anticipation and then they make their entrance. The loona fursuit can then be funnier by the end bc we're probably wondering "where's loona? They saw her right?" And we get out answer

Stolitz is such a compelling and thoughtful pairing being set up in entirely the wrong show tbh. (Rant oncoming) Like -- Stolas is an idealistic lover but maintains this horrible, predatory power imbalance with the man he loves. Blitzo wants to give in to this idealism because he desperately desires companionship, but he's not blind to this power imbalance and ultimately doesn't know what to make of Stolas' hypocritical back-and-forth. It's something that feels weirdly personal to me, to the point the talk at the end of Ozzie's legitimately made me cry. Full Moon had me actively clapping while Blitzo went off. Their whole relationship just has these intermittent emotional gut punches that hit SO good, but they never feel earned. There's scenes we never got to see happen, like ffs I still don't know what Blitzo LIKES about Stolas besides the fact he's lonely and wants the freedom to be vulnerable with someone again. The kicker for me though, is that this is such a morally gray ship presented in such an unambiguously morally driven show. It's the same show where we need to hear Asmodeus monologue about consent, where we need Moxxie to get taught in plain text about letting his wife take the spotlight sometimes, etc. etc. A lot of people seem to have come away from the ending scene of Full Moon asking, "What *morally* is this trying to say?" That ultimately the only *right* way to do this pairing is to have Stolas be held morally accountable. And this being supplemented with the entire season woobifying him... I loved the scene but I understand why it'd leave people worried about the future ramifications it has. Frankly I liked seeing Stolas get emotional, and I hate that his getting emotional has to be viewed as some moral statement about victimhood or abuse. But this is Helluva Boss, so of course that's what people are gonna take from it. Idk I kinda just wish there was some version of this ship where Stolas was allowed to just... be a terrible person, and Blitzo was allowed to want him, and maybe the end state of their relationship would still be this deplorable toxic mess (or a slightly less deplorable toxic mess) but it'd at least be a compelling story about two authentic people. None of the contradictions/framing issues/whatever the frick ppl dislike about Full Moon would be an issue if the show hadn't repeatedly seemed to assert that endgame Stolitz had to be completely healthy.

Viv might be the type of writer who wants her characters to be morally grey, but is too attached to them to have them do anything truly wrong, at least not counting what the show plays as black comedy.

You have a good point, why Didn't D.H.O.R.K.S. make more of an appearance in the background. Hellvua Boss Season2 was a hit or mess: it felt like they were jumping around too much. you make some valid points. HB lacks connecting scenes. Season 2, hits differently, like when Stolas accues Blitz that all he thinks about is sex. Season 1: was better then Season 2. There is so much that was left for fans to figure out. Stolas is giving me mixed signals. Blitz being upfront is a major step for the scarlet imp. S2: HB lacks focus. I know, Hopefully S3: has more S1 vibes.

i was really invested with the cherubs B plot personally i think its just a matter of perspective. Im super into that sci-fi shit so when they were opening the portal to hell im like OH YEAH they cooked with that. I wanna hear more about them so bad. I also want there to be more Dhorks characters because we only have 1 design for like all their goons and its kind of stupid but anyway. I have no complaints about the ending fight that blitz and stolas have except for blitz's tail being really distracting in that 1 scene. Like they could've made him slowly walk forward or something not that. Also why are people saying that one or the other is the victim/ is to blame? i just noticed that and thats also stupid both of them are the antagonists imo they are both in the wrong. there is no TLDR sorry for the wall
